Although I am not an exponent on Tagore-the philosopher and the poet,may I add humbly that this song represents the relation between human soul and god.Here god may be interpreted either as form of love or divine eternity. The song depicts the eternal quest of human soul for that divinity-in all phases of life,be it joy,grief,solitude or in a crowd.This is one of the nicest piece from Tagore where he commingles hindu philosophy & poetry in such a magnificient manner which probaly he only could.
