  • supposed to break ground in sept 2012. though i don't think we need it it sure would be fun to help build, that is unless the california construction workers get stabbed in the back and china workers get the job. wouldn't be the first time ca has cut it's own out of jobs, just look at the bridge in san francisco.

  • This will never happen Becuase Cali is broke. ANd we dont want it.

They want to raise our taxes for it then the average joe wont be able to afford to ride it. It will became a sled for the rich who can afford to own a home a hundred miles out of the city and pay 700 hundred dollars a month for a rail pass. and own a car becuase they live out in the country and need to drive to the train depot Give me a break. This thing stinks

  • The future.I think this is the kind of infrustructure to eliminate dependence on foreign oil. If A mojority of us ride on trains then the highways would have a lot less traffic.

  • Is This The Future of California?

  • @FerretTrain21 pariently it is not any more because the price has double, the cost of the project is now $100 Billion and soon will be $150 Billion and climbing. and 2 there no more room to build more rail system there too many business and farmland in the way.

  • @sideslide23 Why can't they just make the railroad underground?

  • @FerretTrain21 its too costly to dig under the city otherwise Deep tunnel is 5 times more tha at ground level per miles. there is a greater chance the project will be completely eliminated before we reach September of 2012.

  • people in southern California don't use trains.

  • @kirk903 That's gotta be the most bullshit comment....Tell that fucking bullshit to the half a million(and growing) people riding Metrolink, and LA Metro's Blue, Green, Red, Purple, and Gold Lines. You can kiss my So Cal Train-riding ass that shit.

  • @kirk903 true. they fuck you in the ass instead. AND YOU LIKE IT BITCH

  • 13 more months to go till they start laying rails.

  • You know what, here is a better idea:

    /watch?v=P7lBRaJHqe4

P.S. I hate everything about the above link except the idea.

  • Is that the Interstate 5 which I see at 0:31?

  • imagine all of the jobs that would create.

  • @16cale16 400,000 jobs would be kept just to maintain it. Not counting the ones to build everything.

  • @16cale16 exactly, the people who is camping on the street would get on the job, the people who just got released from Prison could get on the job, and people who just graduated from highschool, college, and driving school could get ont he job. otherwise there will be more homeless people, more prisoners in the state of California.

  • guys anyone can tell me can velaro transport containers?

    or its just passenger train?

  • @donzaliko Just passenger.

  • that would be awesome if they had the Disneyland monorail in the station.

  • I hop the Disneyland monorail gose their

  • @musician8456 beside Disneyland, the Monorail will go to the District center, Angel Stadium, Garden district, convention center and the high speed rail via Metrolink station.

  • Whatsnext? I'll tell you whatsnext, the Greyhound bus has crashed, tahts right the horrifying wreck killed six people and injured nearly two dozen others when the bus slammed into an overturned SUV on July 22 on Highway 99 going from L.A. to Sacramento, In America, we have the worst mode of transportation in the world. we have accident on highway, we have passenger train collision with freight train, we have plane crash, and now we have Greyhound Bus Crash, so What does this tell you?

  • I was thrown off by this because the Santa Ana river actually had water in it

  • they already have this in Asia and Europe

    keep dreaming

  • The only thing inaccurate about this simulation is that THE CAR ON THE SPAN BRIDGE IS NOT SUPPORTED BY ANY POST. :-)

  • The only thing inaccurate about this simulation is that THE CAR TRAFFIC IS MOVING WAY TOO FAST. :-)

  • @roachmobile thats a good sighsn maybe it will leave room for truck drivers, and other traffic using the highway.

  • @roachmobile suck my ass

  • Wow. A monorail in a train station. Odd. I would seperate that with a wall or somthing.

  • I'm guessing that the monorail is the Disneyland Monorail that could take passengers directly to the theme park.

  • correct, Disneyland Resort, stadium, convention center, this station, and other place in anaheim.

  • Maybe Amtrak would operate the Regional or Limited trains, while the other company operates the High Speed Express trains.

  • the best are either to operate Reginal whare ever town that HSR doesn't stop at and the Amtrak heads from the small town to the HSR station, or to elliminate the Amtrak and have buses operate Regional just like the Amtrak bus whare train doesn't stop at so you take the Bus from the small town to the HSR Station, I would suggest the HSR connection Bus

  • is that a maglev at 0:20?

  • Its a monorail, a maglev has a wider track than this, the Monorail goes to the Stadium, Disneyland Resort and other building in the area.

  • i strongly think Amtrak should serve these high speed rail stations

  • especially the transbay terminal

  • @tyronewright64 Transbay terminal thanks for bringing this up, there going to demolish the old Transbay terminal to build the new Transbay terminal which will hold this High speed train, Caltrain, Bart, Greyhound bus, Sam Tran bus, and other rapid buses.

  • Amtrak is a joke, if Amtrak operates these lines, they lines will fall into disrepair, and services will deteriorate. Private operators are the best way to go.

  • not really i would not want to go cross the los angeles river from the high speed rail station to the old union station just to catch a train to chicago or Seattle or new orleans

  • I'm sure conventional service will be added to these stations. It is 10 years in the future, but it would not be wise for Amtrak to move out of the Los Angeles terminal.

  • @gibb1991

AMTRAK has never been given the resources to build and operate a true high-speed rail system. Therefore it is no surprise that their trains don't run as fast as other countries. It's a minor miracle that they continue to draw record ridership despite these shortcomings.

  • Where's Amtrak?

  • The Monorail you see there probably goes to all the Disneyland hotels, the resorts, the Stadium, the Museums and other good place in Anaheim. so it makes it easier to get to place from the Station.

  • Metrolink looks out of place alongside the High Speed Rail.

They really need to electrify the commuter train lines.

  • nice to see monorail alongside reg. trains.

  • wait if there are high level platforms how will the commuter trains accommodate that?

  • In the video, one platform is a high level for HSR and the other is a low level for commuter trains. If you pause when you see both platforms, you can see the difference in their heights.

  • were the hell you see that at???

  • If you look really carefully, you can see the difference in height. Just look and measure the black part underneath the platform with your eyes. The one on the right side is a little shorter.

  • Look. CA HSR has already helped cities to gain fame. I'm new to the United States and before this video I didn't even know that there is a city named Anaheim!

  • Really?! It was already famous because of Disneyland. Although I guess no one would really associate it with the city.

  • i dont see why they cant electrify the metrolink system instead of paying all that damn gas for the trains cause let me tell you caltrain is going to be electrified and soon to be ace and possibly the coaster!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Maybe you should give Metrolink a peice of your mind? Let then know you guys want electrification.

  • the Metrolink is probably to big and heavy to be electrified however, they can make it run on Bio diessle which they make from Oil from the Fast food restaurant.

  • if septa can do it metrolink can

  • I'm guessing that monorail goes to Disneyland.

  • @poseidoncambria They should have the Disneyland monorails connecting to the station

  • Haha that monorail is even less likely than the high speed rail.

ARTIC is a joke, but CA HSR needs to happen.
