Apart from the bad pronouncation (@amarok79 -tut mir leid, aber, da hakt's bei mehr als ein paar woertern ! It's far more than a couple of words and yes, i am an expat german), it is simply a very bad and bland interpretation !

Die vielen positiven Bewertungen deute ich eher so: "Dafür, daß er kein Deutsch kann, ist es also äh naja es hätte noch schlimmer sein können. Nice try."

Deutsch ist sowas von schwierig, gerade für Menschen die anglophone Sprachen gewöhnt sind. Sting beweist hier sein musikalische Gehör für eine Fremdsprache. Hätte er Zeit und Lust dazu, würde er sich die Sprache mühelos aneignen können.

@amarok79 Indeed German is very difficult for a lot of people who are used to anglophonian languages. Sting proves his ear and voice talent as a musician. If he could spare the time, he would learn the language very quickly.

I have to believe you. :-) My mother language is czech, and i speak also german. So i cannot recognize it so precisely, but for me it sounds as a good german pronanciation. :-)
