Great Danny Back. I am the biggest fan in Mexico City of Danny. I had the pleasure of meeting him personnally in a hotel in my city. He was the nicest and kindest person I have ever met. I took pictures with him. Danny if you're reading this let me tell you that you're still the best drummer I've ever heard. Long Live "Devil's Sweet".

Great to have found this clip. Danny was the first drummer I really took notice of way back when CTA meant Chicago Transit Authority and I've never found anyone better. Chicago miss him!

Wish I'd never found this vid. So sad to see Danny doing Chicago covers. Maybe he forgot with or without CHICAGO he is the ONE AND ONLY Daniel Seraphine!! Besides this, the drums sound HORRIBLE! (Seem to be cardboard boxes). Please Danny understand this: Chicago (the band) may need you back, but YOU DON'T NEED them!! You have been a GREAT influence for drummers all over the world! YOU ARE A HERO!!

im so glad to have recorded this, so people have proof that CTA sounds better than chicago, and one of their founding members can bring back the tradition of chicagos music without playing 100 bad ballads in between the classics. i just wish i had recorded on something other than my digital camera, because his drums sound amazing. his DW's sound much better than tris imbodens...

The drums sound better than Imboden's because Seraphine sounds great on anything he plays. Imboden's style is weak in comparison to Seraphinens, which is balls-to-the-walls.

thank you for posting this.dannys back and better than ever.i met him when i was 11 after a concert i think it was the chicago 17 album when it came out and what i remember was he knew i was a real fan and took the time to talk to me and didn't rush me off like some foolish kid he took the time to talk to me and i never forgot that.

I first saw Danny play with Chicago in Feb/1969

in the Filmore East in New York City. I still say

he is the best drummer in the world.

the problem with chicago is no longer danny, i think hes better off with these guys. hes a virtuoso, and so is everyone in the new band. chicago just doesnt play as well as they used to. its hard to get around it.

Yet, Chicago said the same thing about Danny. Not much live concert footage exists of Danny's last days in Chicago, but the ones that exist show him as good as ever. Make me say... something else was going on. We'll probably never know.

I read an interview recently, apparently even Danny doesn't know. Robert Lamm, who was probably the better friend that Danny had in the band, asked him if he really wanted to know the real reason, he said no, and to this day he still doesn't know. Whatever, finally good Chicago-esque music, far better than modern Chicago ultra-polished crap.

The other popular theory that goes around is that Danny had his hand in too much of the management aspects of the band. It's never alluded to any less vaguely than that. In the end, money probably has something to do with it somewhere.

Still, it's pretty crap not to tell a *founding member* the real reason why he's being fired....
