i attended this gig its funny seeing the minny pops singer 30 years later he looked then like a seven foot elvis costello. weird gig .i didnt know any of the new closer numbers or love will because they werent released then,i saw joy div at mchester appollo in 79 no one knew ian was ill this wes before the book came out so i think the audience thought joy division were takin the piss,ian did two numbers and then went back to the dressing room 'then bottles went flying and i fucked off,
I was one of the organisers of the Gigs music club at the Derby Hall, and was doing the lights for the band/hall that night. When it kicked off, I flipped the hall lights on and hid under the lighting table!
