  • How do you know if the trachycarpus is male or female if they both produce flowers.

  • Nice, I do also have Palms here in Norway, they are so beutiful to watch in when the Snow&Winter is comming, I like the pictures you'we got of your Trachys, I do have an Whasingtonia Robusta, Whasingtonia isnt that hardy eighter, I often get problems in January-March. But it's still Surviving the Norwegian Climate!

  • Thats was great. I enjoyed that and I am very interested in getting my own now!

  • Beautiful palms Dave! I was recently bitten by the palm bug, and I've just purchased 2 trachy seedlings, which will be going into the ground tomorrow. Let's just hope that I can keep these alive long enough to be able to withstand these zone 6a winters here in southern Indiana:) If everything pans out, maybe one day they will look as nice as yours!

  • Thanks Dave, I enjoyed it!

  • I live in Gothenburg , westcoast Sweden , first year with a Trachycarpus fortunei in my garden , will se if it manages its first winter.

  • On 4:36 was Trachy Takil. 100% cuz it has bended trunk, but it will be ok within years.

I wish youve pouted them directly into ground, theyd be much faster.

  • I enjoyed that. I love all your palms. I am a palm maniac as well. THey self seed here as well, I have them all over my property. I live on the south west coast of Canada. My oldest I planted nearly 22 years ago.

  • Here in Northern Virginia, near Washington, DC we have a 21 foot Trachycarpus Fortunei in Sterling, Virginia and a 19 foot specimen in Solomons Island, Maryland both were planted in the 1990s. Down in Virginia Beach, they are very common and reach almost 25 feet in height. In my garden I have about 20 medium to large ones, but so far none are over 5 feet of trunk. These palms have seen 4F and the older ones in other gardens have seen -11F! These palms are amazing.

  • Really beautiful palm trees!I come from Germany and we have two trachycarpus fortunei(8-9 years old)in our garden, too.
