@nycts No problem. AitA is my favorite, followed by Beggars and Illusion of Safety. Vhessiu is great, but it started their experimentation phase (which I still think is great and listen to) which consists of The Alchemy Index Parts I-IV which is two themed albums based around the 4 elements. It's interesting stuff for sure but Im glad they got away from that with Beggars. It's really AitA and Vhessiu mashed together. Love it. 1st album, Identity Crisis, is pretty rough but good.

@jhuneke Vheissu is my favorite, oddly enough. I loved that rugged, experimental sound. Alchemy Index has my favorite songs on it, but it's not easy to listen to it all the way through. Water and Fire are the best on it. Beggars is incredible. But AitA will always have a special place in my heart. First album I ever bought. I was young.

In my case, I've been listening since Artist in the Ambulance, had a good listen to their older stuff, and gradually have been realizing that as they progress chronologically, their music gradually increases in quality. Takes nothing away from their old stuff, but they perform better music nowadays. I love them, man. Favorite band.

I love those kind of records with a punk rock attitude, but with a dipper, a little more eclectic sound (this album makes me think about Radiohead's In Rainbows quite a lot somehow). So I agree with you, not knowing the band from the beginning doesn't mean that you can't feel a connection with the music

God I loved the old Thrice...Heavy heavy stuff. Eleanor Rigby from that era is just great. But "Beggars" really got me back into them. I'm really liking what they're doing these days...Vheissu and Alchemy Index both worried me a bit. This cover, however, is simply QUALITY. You can tell by how good their Beatles covers come out that they truly have respect/love for them.

I don't know why hearing Vheissu or The Alchemy Index would worry you. Thrice have never done a bad album or even a bad song. Everything they touch flows with their talent and passion. There was just as much quality in those albums as there was in Beggars or Illusion of Safety. It might not be your favorite, and you don't even have to like it, but you do have to respect it (And hopefully appreciate it on some level).

That said, I agree. This is an amazing cover.
