  • Currently, the Coastal Class of the BC Ferries are the largest double-ended ferries in the world and will be for a while.

  • This is the M/V Spokane which is a "Jumbo Class" ferry. This was the largest double-ended ferry (along with the M/V Walla Walla) in the world when it was built in the early 1970's.

  • Boring

  • BC Ferries operates both single- and double-enders. I'm not sure what you mean by 'S-class,' but the Spirit class are single-ended. The Super-C's are currently the largest in the world, but they're rather unlovely for all that.

  • Eh, I believe the BC ferry system also has double-enders. In fact I think they have the largest double-enders (the S-Class) in the world. Are you thinking of the Black Ball line? I know they operate a single ended ferry from Port Angeles, WA to Victoria, BC.

  • I wonder why Washington State Ferries are double sided as opposed to the BC Ferries which only go one direction. Every time we leave the BC Ferries have to turn around, but I noticed WA Ferries don't have to. Curious to why.
