@shoutatthesky No, i didn't mean to offend you, and obviously, if the dog looks like your one, then i didn't mean it looks like a staffy, the mother of the dog i was talking about was a cross breed, and the father was purebred border collie, so the border collie over powers the other breeds in her. @neadyyyyyy I've seen a few comments from you saying to look up this Casterton kelpie high jump video. IT's A WALL JUMP!! NOT A HIGH JUMP!! There's a difference. Look up regular videos of "High jumping". There is NO wall. It is NOT a high jump, it's a WALL JUMP. I hope I've made my point.

My dog is technically a "mixed breed" but is actually the result of a breeding program with limited official organisation but neverthless a wide consensus among New Zealand (and proberly Australian) sheep farmers of what were desirable traits for the purpose for which they are intended. Very non-aggressive, loyal, intelligent, and loves to run. A dog thats barks only when it has something to say. My dog will run at speeds of up to around 55kmph.

:P borders rock- if that gate is over 6ft 2" congrats you beat my dog- who stands just 22" tall- smaller than a border. He is classed as a terrier mongrell and the first week we got him he jumped the 6ft 2" fence at the back of the garden. No toching either. He also cleared the 5ft 6" fence at the side in 3 steps. O.O

There may be some border collie in her but here she comes from a long line of working dogs. She has been bred for the role of heading dog. That is the dog that leads the herd (of sheep) and the other dogs follow what she does. She very rarely barks and is totally non-agressive towards animals or humans. Here in New Zealand she would be referred to by farmers as a tri-colour heading dog. To me she just an awesome friend.

Great "jump" or as I would call it...scaling the fence (which is really what it is.) But come on people....is this really a behavior that one would want to instill in their dog? Yeah...let's encourage our dog to climb/jump our fence so they can do that when we're gone and go get hit by a car. Wow people really need to learn some damn common sense!!

Look closely at the gate. The top part I had modified professionally for exactly the reasons you mention and she still could jump it. I have now added another foot and she can scale it if she really wants to. I agree that is what it is - scaling. I love my dog and this behaviour is not one I have instilled in her but one in which she has a natural ability. She can run at just over 30 MPH too and I have yet to suceed in tiring her out!
