i've watched other reviewers who play mario hacks, and to be honest for the first one of yours... it wasn't all that good, and although the hack was wack; it was still easy to break in several ways. i would go into detail, but why even bother when the hack is not worth the time...

@TheFatBiowareNerd First levels are meant to be a warm-up for beginners; that part is true if the person making the rom hack wants to be fair. However most rom hacks are meant to be more difficult than the original game; if you can handle the challenge then play it, but if not why play something you can't handle even with practice.

I'm not a hacker and I never said I was, but I do agree that play testing is needed before releasing a rom hack so that it doesn't blow like this rom hack did.

The bullets @ 6:44 remind me of the scene in Resident Evil(the movie) when they're in that room and the laser grid is coming at Colin Salmon. The grid is inescapable and those bullets just reminded me of that.

You get stuck if you lose your mushroom in the first level, and have not provided any clear way to get over this. This shows a lack of insight and testing

But then again, there's still save states in case of mistakes.

I might also add, I said it wasn't beta tested. Beta testing is not done by the developer, but by an outside source. Why? Because the developer KNOWS how to get through the levels. the purpose of beta testing is to see if a normal person will be able to do it, to see if it's reasonably solvable and therefore, not broken.

Well, that game does look frustrating.

Doesn't look too bad once some flaws have been removed.

A box appearing on that instant kill level appearing when you on it in the overworld would have been nice.

Deviding the level in different parts like the first part on the first level. Having a box appearing in which you say the objective is to keep the mushroom through this whole section as some kind of mini mission would have been nice.

Well you shoulda known he would shit all over your hack, from MY point of view it looked easier (based on kaizo and others) compared to as far as he got. But anyway you should just accept his OPINION. He says this game is bad-ish, and you should not take that as an offense. He also says that Genesis sucks compared to SNES, and though I agree, we both have NO proof, unless SEGA announces it.

I got dragged to that movie by a new girlfriend soon after it came out...and she broke up with me a couple months later. It wasn't a bad movie, but...GODDAMNIT I ended up sitting through it for nothing!

Actually, i've seen an amazing hack once, it had completely new textures and sprites added in and it was pretty fun, but I can't remember the name of it. I think it was something Mario Galaxy related (but it was a super mario world hack)
