It didn't take long to see her two babies peering at me as I pet her every night. She stopped showing up I fear the worst. But her babies still come Right now I have the two in the garage. The male is quite larger now and is so afraid of me The female I have been working with and has allowed me to pet her What do I do with the male? I feel that they do better having another cat around but fear that one day he will mate with his sister causing unhealthy babies. Tips please.

@LazyLumber You are correct, the Male will mate with his sister. Even at only 6-months of age! Getting a Male neutered is not very expensive and in many areas there are Feral friendly Vets who do it for almost no charge to help control feral populations. - Of course they should be vaccinated as well. And the female should be spayed which is more expensive but can be done for around $100.00. We rescuers make these commitments and we stick to them.

@LazyLumber The elusive Male; Almost no cat can resist tuna. Try to entice him to approach you with impossible to resist treats. While you dole-out small nibblets for him to enjoy, you should be able to gently pet him and it won't take long before he trusts you and is making figure-eights around your feet when you enter the garage. I have 2 feral former toms; one I trapped at about age 5 or 6, other was about 2 from a barn feral colony.....both are fabulous indoor/outdoor pets, both sleep with me at night. They will bond to their human, and no one else though...they seem to only want their one human and not a whole bunch of them.... They are 10 and 5 respectively now, love my boys!!!

This makes me miss my old tomcat so much. He wasn't entirely feral, he could come into the house when he wanted, but he was much more at home outside and would sit at the door begging to be let out (we tried to keep him inside during winter but he hated it). We never had moles, birds, mice, anything, he was such a nice hunter. He would always walk me to the bus stop in the morning and would be waiting there for me when I got home. I think he was the best part of my entire childhood.

@JEEFASAUNAARIZONA I didn't know about the band. We named him scruffy because of his appearance. In the beginning we were simply commenting on that scruffy yellow Tom cat that was hanging out and it just evolved into his name. His fur was disheveled, he often had burrs in his tail and was dirty... Thank you for watching.

this is so true. i found a feral kitten once. i brought the kitteh inside, and he wouldnt come near me the first night, but by day three he was romping around the house like he owned it :)

Funny how you mentioned how they follow you and know the "work schedule". We have a cat a our industrial workplace and she knows when break time is, knows when shift change is and recognizes the guys that work close to her "home". She is still wild and hisses and scratches! I have a plastic rod that I pet her with and she responds well to that !!!!!!!

I have a stray who is about one now he is the seeetest tjing on this plannet but he s lonely when both me and my husband go to work so we decided to adopt one from the animal shealter. Prob is after they neutered him he got very bad. He nits and hisses at us alot. Im waiting till he heals completly so both cats can meet. I hope they play well and i can get over the fear of him since he almost bit off my finger.. ur cats are very beautiful. After seeing ur video i think there is hope for my cat.
