@rightfredsdead Thats ok, we love feedback of any sort really. Its all a laugh really and not to serious. Takes some of the boredom out of driving long distance.
I've been using British spelling for years. I've had people ask me why, and I tell them, because I like to. I like to do things differently than most people. I always have.
@alanheath Why do you reckon some Brits don't use Britsh spelling? I've never lived in the UK, or anywhere that usese British spelling. My favourite example is "favourite", or "louvre" instead of "louver" or how about "centre" instead of "center". I just bought two litres of milk to go with my cereal.
@Seattlecarnut We are becoming Americanised slow but sure, one of those things that just creeps up on you over many years, then before you know it, you've forgotten how to spell things the english way... LOL :-)
Center as in shopping Center and Centre as in hole Centre are a very common misused word.
@Bevoin1970 Thanks. I'm not against American for most things. But I also like how Britain does some things as well. I particularly like how Britain spells certain words differently from how we (Americans) spell words.
@Bevoin1970 I've spelt centre for so long that I don't even think anything of it. I can spell it center or favor, or liter. It's just that I've come to prefer spelling the same way Brits do. In fact, it's my favourite way of spelling, and I don't plan to revert back to American spelling anytime soon.
I'm not against using metrics. Whenever I buy milk or soda pop, they use metrics as well as American measurements. The only difference is spelling. While you and other commonwelth countries spell "litre", we still spell "liter". I like the British spelling the best, as you may have noticed.
What I've never understood is why the speedometer isn't the same for all European countries, just the UK? I know that here in the US, our speedometers have MPH and km/h, while in Canada, it's the other way around, KM/H and mph. I'm not against such display, as long as it shows both, instead of just one.
I think its all to do with going metric. Although England is metric these days, we still use miles instead of Kilometres for distance, and we still drink Pints and not litres, although liquids are sold in litres etc, so this could explain why we have both miles per hour and Kilometres...
The thing I've always liked about British cars is that the speedometer displays both Miles Per Hour and kilometres per hour on the same display. That makes it easy to know just how fast you're driving when visiting other countries.
Yes that piece of road is very nice now all the road works have finished and gone, was only thinking myself yesterday how nice it looks now around that area...
Nothing, it just shows where the land finishes and the water begins as we pass beneath it all. Feels strange when you know all that water is above your head...

@Seattlecarnut In Europe, miles are only used in the UK and Ireland. It would be pointless putting miles on cars sold on the European continent.
