Ryu is a beast in this game. When you can switch between ken and Akuma, thats overkill. I use to be so good at that tactic, you would attack me as ryu and i would counter as ken and eat u alive in a corner.

That's not Akuma it's Evil Ryu. And the Ryu to Ken is just Ryu with Ken's moves.

You're an idiot. It IS Akuma. Akuma and Ken aren't in this game like they are in Marvel vs Capcom 2, so Ryu has the ability to 'change' into Akuma and Ken.

He gets every single attack and special akuma has including Raging Demon and every single attack and special Ken has.

It's not 'Evil Ryu' it's Capcoms way of having the characters ingame without not really having them ingame.

Ugh, I KNOW they're not in the game, and it's Capcom's way to put them in, but Evil Ryu has all the moves of Akuma, and I can't really explain Ken.

it is not Evil ryu actually. i thought so too, but it is akumas moveset not evil ryu. ERyu actually has much more attacks than akuma(and if you played Xmen vs Street fighter(family game to this same sprites for most characters) akuma is exactly the same moveset as this games akuma ryu)

When Ryu switches to Ken and Akuma it's made to be as if you're playing as Ken and Akuma, not Evil Ryu or Ryu-Ken

For everyone saying Ryu doesn't transform into Akuma but Evil Ryu look at 1:27. He's using Akuma's fighting stance. Evil Ryu uses Ryu's fighting stance, not Akuma's.

It is just Ryu, the only difference is the clothes, for the most part. Ken's gloves are yellow, if I remember right. And Akuma wears those huge beads around his kneck. It's more of a color change, and tehcnique change. Still just Ryu, however.

It's Ryu using their fighting styles. o.o.. It's still just Ryu. Not Evil Ryu, not a Red version of Ryu. Not Akuma. Not Ken. It's just Ryu using their fighting styles and techniques.

Wrong. It is Akuma. Evil Ryu's gi is black, not purple, however Akuma's is purple.

Ryu is the only shoto that was put into MvC1, so they put this lil' trick in to allow players to play with either Ken or Akuma's moveset.

yea hold start then press any button to get akuma and hold select then press any button to get ken.
