  • my 2311 won't turn on D:

  • Thank you for making this vid! I've been looking at this monitor, and I now believe it is worth the money.

  • Good video. Glad you're enjoying your 2311x. After watching your video, I feel relieved ordering the 2211x (an identical, albeit slightly smaller monitor) as my second monitor. It will be a compliment to my HP w2408h. Although my main monitor is a 24", I find that I still need the extra space for multi-tasking...and for the wow factor. :-)

  • @txmoney Sounds like an amazing set up, thx for watching.

  • Could you hook up turtle beach p11's if I were to use this as a monitor for my ps3? And how would I go about hooking it up.

  • @14aford Now, I am not really sure about ps3 and those headphones so I couldn't say

  • I have this moniter and it dosent reconise my HDMI cable but when I have theDVI cable in it works and says its reconised but can I JUST have the HDMI in??? Please answer!

  • @shane78123 i usually set my monitor up for auto detection...maybe you have yours only on one particular setup...

  • Can it turn vertically?

  • How clear is the picture with this monitor and your macbook? is there much blur? I have a macbook 13" and considering this or an acer 23"

  • Where the fuck is your Windows machine? ö

  • @NLChaterz what is a "windows machine" and I use Mac because they are better i my opinion

  • Does it have speakers? and if im going to use it with a ps3 i can connect it normally? how could i hear anything though.. thanks

  • @carlooo1994

It dosent have any speakers since it is a monitor buy if u want speakers you should get a tv with a vga port on the back

  • I ended of buying an Asus instead and i;m happy with my purchase, though this monitor does look good.

  • just had a question, hopingyou could help. i was wondering how you eventually got it to be full screen without the black spaces on the side. i cant seeem to figure out how to do that or yget it into 1080p likie you did in the video. if you could eexpploain to me how you did this it would be awesome! thanks for your time and keep up the good work!

  • Before i purchase this, i wanted to use this for my xbox 360, would it work. are there speakers??????

  • Comment removed

  • @ganxter23 ya you can. I ordered the 2311x on Amazon, then i ordered a Xbox 360 audio adapter that came with a HDMI cord(only $6).. with the adapter you can hook up a gaming headset, if you dont have a headset or just wanna have speakers as well, get a RCA male to Stereo female adapter that plugs into the 360 adapter i mentioned above. with the RCA/stereo adapter you can hook up computer speakers to your Xbox. you can get the monitor + adapters and speakers for less than $200

  • @ganxter23

did u purchase it? whats it like with the xbox?

  • @craigyt1 HDMI cable, but no sound out

  • @TheAppleXbox Nice Video!

can you tell me hows the contrast ratio? I mean the black levels?

  • @TheAppleXbox Hey how do you like using this computer screen. Do you ever find your self running out of space with this. Because I am getting a new computer soon, and I cant decided to get just on of these screens. or 2 of them, or just a 25 inch one.

  • @GaMeOvErRules ok with my experience as a normal user with some video editing on the side. ALL YOU NEED IS ONE lol i sometimes fell it is too big . a 23 inch is perfect and you really couldn't possibly need more space. unless you have a really great desktop and you do emense amounts of multitasking you would not need that much space. and that 2 inches is not worth it neither is 2 monitors. I would actually prefer if anything one 33 in instead of 2 23s or 2 25s check out my other video on it.

  • @TheAppleXbox ok lol, yeah i was looking at it, and I said yeah 23 is pretty big, because you know looking at a thumb nail rendered pictured of it on hp.com. you just really cant tell how big it is. and yeah I will be using this to edit videos, and some coding. And I like my work space to be plenty big. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

  • @TheAppleXbox can you hook up your xbox to this?

  • i bought hp 2311f led monitor. it is better than 2311x. go check specs.

it is great monitor perfect 6500k color temp. no reddish no bluish just perfect.

one thing is bad is it has no audio out slot

  • Hey all. I finally figured out my situation so maybe this helps. I was using a thunderbolt/hdmi cable to connect my 2311x. I could only get it to be in 720p, and the aspect ratio was all wrong. Now, I got an hdmi cable and an apple display port to hdmi converter, which allowed me to use my monitor in 1080p. Then, in the monitor's menu, I went to image control, custom scaling, and then turned "overscan" off. Everything is perfect now.

  • hey man, i tried to connect using the same set up (hdmi cables and macbook pro), but my laptop isn't recognizing the monitor for some reason. dyou think the cables are faulty? where did you get your hdmi- minidisplay port converter and your hdmi cable?

  • @shalinidr yea that could be possible, i got my hdmi and adapter from owc which is great for high quality gear for your mac

  • @TheAppleXbox

thanks, just ordered myself one ! :)

  • bro i have the same monitor but when i check it in my desktop it says its not led its just led

i got the same box as u did

  • @xsaver23 I am not sure what ur saying?

  • @TheAppleXbox sorry i messed up

i was saying that i have the same monitor as urs but when i checked it in my computer

it says its not LED it was only LCD

  • @xsaver23 On mine it does say that but if it is as thin as mine then it is LED, lcd are usually much thicker

  • @TheAppleXbox can it just be used to plug in a ps3 and game

  • @TheAppleXbox Technically speaking, a LED monitor is a LCD monitor. The only difference is a regular LCD monitor uses a different type of backlight, where as a LED monitor is a LCD monitor with a LED backlight allowing for slimmer design and more vibrant colors depending on the monitor

  • @xsaver23 yeh mine is as thin as urs i got the same box too :D

i guess its just an error

  • Man I love the fact that Kanye is getting some very much deserved recognition for his music. I hear Power every where I go (Partially because I am always playing it).

  • @Hoodrat93 yea I just think its a pretty cool song so I just threw it in there

  • The screen of hp2311x is glossy or antiglare?

  • @alexansbros I believe it is anti glare

  • Did you connect this via Thunderbolt? I'm trying to connect my HP 2311x to my MBP13 via Thunderbolt to HDMI and it's not working : (

  • @mike3279 Have you been able to fix it? I have the same problem. MBP w/ thunderbolt to hdmi cord.

  • just picked this monitor up for $119 on a Bestbuy black Friday deal.

  • will this work with an xbox 360 if i have an hdmi cord or whatever?

  • @Cuatche yes

  • @Shzero0

are you sure? cuz i tried connecting my xbox to it and keeps saying no signal detected if anyone else has the same issue let me know

  • @tkazn135 hmm it shouldn't, make sure the connection is tight and if it works with another HDMI source...i can give you a better answer either Tuesday or Wednesday. i'll be able to test it my self then

  • @Shzero0 I hope it does! I bought it for Christmas to use with a 360.

  • Is it simple plug and play because i see it comes with a disc?

  • is that a matte finish?

  • lol my dad had a shit ton of bestbuy rewards and he got this thing for ten bucks.

  • What did you do with the disc it came with?

  • @Omally102 nothing that was for windows comp, don't even know what its for. do you know?

  • @TheAppleXbox I had no idea. I just kinda tucked it aside. Just got this monitor today and it is nice, love'n it so far.

  • Hey, for some reason the sound on my monitor is not working. I have emptied the options for the HP troubleshooting, but for some reason it still wont work. Can you inbox me with suggestions?

  • @BawstinBrewin if it is the same monitor in this video, there is no sound lol

  • @TheAppleXbox it was a problem with the speakers i was trying to connect to the monitor, i changed the cord and it works now, but thanks anyways.

  • @BawstinBrewin one, is it the same monitor in the video and if so how do you attach speakers to it

  • @TheAppleXbox I'm pretty sure this monitor doesn't have speakers. So confused now. D:

  • did it come with the hdmi cable ? ....and is it good for gaming >?

  • @satinderjit4 no, and i mean if you can get the proper adapters for audio it works great

  • Viewing angle..?

  • If you want to mount it to a dual vertical stand do you have to buy a special bracket/mount for this monitor?

  • is there any way to connect speakers directly to the monitor??

  • screw all of you who got them from staples before i went in and were told they were sold out :(

  • got 4 from staples for $75.00

  • have you played your xbox 360 on this yet? if so, how does it handle?

  • Got one today after shipping and tax for $81.

  • @vitaminwater7 where did you you buy it from?

  • @bry0097 I got it from staples. I used a coupon to get it down to 75.

  • got 2 today at $100 each, awesome widescreen dual monitors

  • Hey umm i got mine and i accidently unplugged it and all the right cables are plugged in but the thing says no signal for all of the things can u plllz help

  • On a serious note though, do you find 23" to be big enough?

  • @111Jovan111 lol, i dont get it self-harm, but Seriously it all depends on what ur doing and how far away from it you are. I think 23 inches is absolutely perfect, i am about 3 feet away and i mostly just use it with new windows at a time and it is perfect i don't really see what you could do with any more space

  • 04:36 Self-harm.

  • @Brysea Not sure, man but there is this new webthing called like google or something lol jk but yea i am sure that they will keep making pcs

  • I like the looks of it. Have an HP w1907v now, and I want to and a LED backlight monitor. Since you had this for a while, would you still recommend it?

  • @nousername21 of course It is amazing and still works perfect, just hooked up one wire and you are set!

  • @TheAppleXbox btw i just found out there are full led and edge led monitors. This one is a edge led, right?

  • does your laptop have to be open for it to display on the monitor

ps nice song in the beginning

  • @glook123 No, With mine at least all i have to do is move the mouse or tap on keyboard and it wakes up computer only using monitor though so it is a desktop.

  • @TheBeastlySpirit Yea, I love this monitor. its simple and works great. And that desktop sounds good expecially the quad core and ram and you could always add more ram too :)

  • is it worth buying ?? plz help

  • @LIVEPCGAMER yes, it most definitely is, it provides a great workspace for and computer

  • I'm thinking about buying the new MacBook Air 11" and hooking it up with this monitor. What about heat and fan noise from the MacBook, when using a display like this?

  • @BechmannDK I have not noticed really any change in heat or fan activity so you you should be good :)

  • @TheAppleXbox Thank you for replying. I think i'll buy this.

  • @BechmannDK why would there be extra heat and noise?

  • Thank you it was most informative.

  • @theBrenb wow, you truly are an Idiot

  • @theBrenb Thank you troll, why don't you research the meaning of these words. you sound like an idiot "huge dick tool" that would be an adj. then two nouns. so why don't you go fuck yourself 12 year old retarded bitch.

  • How do you hook up a Xbox to it? And if you did, would the quality be good? Sorry, I'm not a technical person :)

  • at hp.com you can by the same thing for monitor for 189

  • @OMoneyProductions Yea but original price is 250

  • @ applexbox i have the same monitor but i connected it to my ps3

  • The reason you had the little black bars on the side of your display while it was mirroring your MBP was because the Resolution you run your MBP at (1280x800) is not a 16:9 Widescreen Resolution. So your monitor has to display those bars in order to give you a realistic view. It also won't look as clear when mirroring because the monitor will just duplicate the pixels of your MBP. Essentially just "blowing up" your display...

  • FUCK, i wanted to buy this but ships only to USA and I'm in australia

  • Hook a 360 up to that. HDMI and all.

  • @No0b3rTsLobby Yea I plan to just need to get some turtle beaches for audio

  • @TheAppleXbox Oh, I thought the Monitor came with an Audio Input? Another question, if you hook an Xbox 360 Up to it through VGA, does it still go 1080p? Or would HDMI be nicer?

  • hi, i thought the HP 2311x had Glossy Screen, but it looks like matte screen, it is the video or it really have matte screen?

  • @cooledition1 To me I think it is most definably matte and not gloss

  • Isn't the screen supposed to be glossy? If not then I'm might have to go for the old 2710m instead.

  • @twebbas

The 2511x and the 2711x are glossy. The 23, 22 and 20 inches version are Matte.

  • Great review! I've was looking for a proper one on Youtube for days now before actually purchasing the hp 2311x monitor on eBay. I got it for 158.30 but 173.3 after shipping. You beat me by $1.30 lol. I can hardly wait until I get it on Friday (hopefully). I was planning to do a review myself, but it seems you already filled that void. Great to see someone finally do a review on this monitor.

  • its a good video but you mumble...

  • beautiful review and video!!

  • @DotyDesigns Thank You! I have more coming soon

  • @Alxsllrs why would you ask that?
