  • why do you need resistors? i thought more power is better...

  • heres a tip, dont make future animations spin so fast

  • rail lenght ? velocity?

  • Futuristic potentials: use of an AREO GEL’s massive surface area to make Super capacitors for rail gun use. Use of a ‘tesla capacitor round’ that discharges an EMP burst on impact.

Alternately (*spec ops): if a redesign of the weapon could accurately fire a burst of EMP at range?

(*aircraft Defense turret): Fires pulse at approaching weapons to destroy guidance technology.

  • 6. Future force warrior program: “Mobile infantry rail gun”. Could a heavy man portable back-pack (Small gas motor providing charge for CAP bank, Spiral ammo drum feeding down a mounted recoil-arm that supports the weapon barrel) version be docked to an EXO-skeleton, such as the Raetheon-Sarcos frame, or the “Hulc” exo-assist?

  • 1.How about a cylindrical firing tube? And then…

    2. Cylindrical round with very slight riffling?

    3. Vehicle mounted Power supply, and multiple Cap banks for rapid firing.

    4. Automatic round loading, possibly with variable selection of different purpose ammunition?

5.Possible variable number of Cap bank use for multi-role of weapon; ( long range artillery, Structure Buster, Anti-vehicle armor, anti-personnel).

  • @rifleman12121212

It is only meant as an injection system not the actual propulsion

  • Whats the best CAD? Can this be simulated in CAD? and does it require a PCB?

  • only 60psi? that is weak. up the pressure a lot more.

  • get solidworks

  • solidworks is for more technical planning. I have autodesk Inventor drawings for every part in the railgun, as well as the assemblies. Blender is for animation and CGI.

  • I love replaying this video. It is exciting. I have been updating the build log on Fortscribe but I have been behind a few weeks. They are been making some pretty awesome changes and upgrades.

  • so does the injector just "push" the projectile further into the barrel??

  • The injector pushes the projectile down the fake rails (teflon) into the powered rails hooked to the capacitor bank. These then accelerate it further.

Injectors are just a cheap way to get around the need for very big SCR's.

  • Nevermind I read description nice Blender work.

  • Check out my second animation, this is a more compact design. Twice the capacitors, Twice the energy, half the busbar.

  • What you make the animation with?

  • Great work! Great quality...

    DESIGN SUGGESTION:

Place the capacitors along he barrel. Two rows of caps along each side of the barrel, lined at an angle downwards and placed forward. Interconnects can loop over or under thebarrel. Resistors sit over the injector at the back of the gun. Wrap all inerconnects in insulation. Voila! You have a real practical railgun. :-)

I saw something like this on Fortscribe. You guys are awesome.

  • This is on fortscribe, they are supporting me :)

  • Parabéns por seu projeto.

  • cool
