filming with a vx would be sick but honestly my friend has a samsung just regular camcorder with a demon fisheye lens and it has just as good quality as this and we didn't pay thousands of dollars for it but if you can afford a vx get one.

it does but if you have a better camera to get warm colors with like a dvx over a vx then you would get better "warmer" colors! vx1000's are over rated by far! they are a very old camera idk why people like them so much!

a few reasons.

-perfect compatability with the mk1 best death lens

-ability to hold it with the handle and it has enough weight to stop shaking but not enough to make ur arm too sore.

-it was the first camera to incorporate 3 chip technology with the miniDV format.

-one of the only cameras under 2000 that has all the manual controls on the exterior so u dont have to sort through the menus

-history!

i also own a hvx202a as well but i still use my vx1000 as they have a special quality about them

there is a few reasons vx1000's are out dated.

-the panasonic dvx100b has a built in wide angle lens so when you use just a opteka fisheye its wider than a vx1mk1 its been proven!

-the dvx has a handle also!and more than enough weight to suport itself!

-the dvx is newer the vx is old when you use one you have to be careful becuase they are so old and fragile!and the dvx is 3 chip!

-dvx is about 2000 dallors so it is kind of high but you get what you pay for!

its because the colors and the sound is super sick. you dont even need an external mic to get great sound. and they basically have the perfect weight and are the most used cameras for skating ever. Period. dvx are more expensive and so are the fisheyes

vx1! way better for filming skating, both are dope though, i have both but i prefer the vx1, the only downside is that it doesnt have an lcd screen. if you buy the mk1 fisheye with it, its way wider than the mk2.

So get the vx1 there the shit. my friend has a pd-150 and i like it alot too. its like the vx1 on steroids pretty much.
