  • Chingon!!! Viva Mexico!!

  • Is not music something so magical that make us feel more united no matter our culture and backgrounds? Is like we are able to forget what divides us...And make us feel more humans...We are all One.

Gracias por compartir. Precioso.

  • What are the requirements to do this?

  • Amo a mi cultura.

  • Wow! what a performance!! I am beyond words!

  • My parents and me where born in Guadalajara Mexico does than mean I have Aztec blood in me? If somebody can please answer me this because I would love to know more about my ancestors ..

  • @TheLinkGreen - Being Mexican means you have 100% Indigenous roots. The idea of being called "Latino/a" is a deceiving confusion tactic from the oppressor. Also being called "Mestizo/a" falls into more confusion. We live in a world full of defamation and destruction, therefore don't expect a school or any institution tell you who you really are. You have to find that in your heart and self education. Open your eyes beyond what you see and what you hear.

  • No me canso de ver esto una y otra vez. Absolutamente maravilloso.

  • Does anyone know what the super long feathers are? I'm thinking Crested Argus Pheasant, but I could be wrong.

  • mexica tiahui~ that was awesome!

  • Hello Moon goddess and Sr. Martinez,No need to debate this, not with the internet handy. Google it. I think what you will find is only about 3,500 Spanish ever arrived in north america. Kind of surprising with everyone claiming they are half Spanish and there being Spanish days in California. The indigenous cultures never died in Mexico. Sr. Martinez is correct in regards to the hypocrisy in mexico regarding their Aztec/native american roots. Most people are 100% Native Amer in Mexico.

  • Wow this is phenomenal! I love it so much Aztecs rule!!

  • Hmm am I the only one that thinks the 'Budweiser' slogan in the begining kinnda ruins the feel a wee bit? Awesome dancing though totaly gunna learn to dance like this :)

  • @mozmex moz = morrissey! :P

  • Our the original Aztec people that white or our they mixed with the spanish people of Europe? I went to Couzamel on a cruise and the Mayan people were brown in color just like a lot of African Americans. I guess you could say the Mexican people our a new race of people mixed with the Spanish, Native peoples of Mexico and the Black people of Africa.

  • @ShabazzAllah1 Not all Mexicans in Mexico are mix with European. Many Europeans decided to make a living in Mexico then. Mexico calling then ''CRIOLLO'' due to their European ancestry. Now' of course many have blended in; so many dark skin Mexicans have been ''water down'' but not all. I still see the Asian ancestry in many Mexicans as well.

African; is due to the slavery that the Europeans brought to Mexico & south America many centuries ago. Why do you think we're called Mexican? we're mix.

  • @martinez418 huh? Re-do high school then come back and talk to me. Um the Bablyonians, Egyptians, etc where all highly achieving, yet traces to their dynasty have completely vanished. Does that make them "less" of an advanced civilization? Bro, you really have no idea what the hell your talking about. Im sure Mayan Mathematics would also surpass your little intellect. Obviously the only ignorance in these comments comes from you.

  • @RlCHART Sir' or you i say BRO; please read back on your writing and double check your spelling before you want to call anyone ignorant. You sure do stand for the word ''IGNORANT'' lmfao. Can you answer the question; where is your alleged highly achieving people now?.

It's evident that you have chosen favoritism appose to knowledge. The only ignorant person here is you. Favoritism use in the study of history to sanction once culture is also a form of insecurity and signs of unwitting. LMFAO!

  • its nahuatl, thats the native tonge

    pronounced:

    Nawat

  • Chief Seattle Day's Suquamish Wa. ....Baby!

  • that was amazinggg...o yeahh i would totally love to learn how to dance like that dude!

  • That was a bomb ass finisher.

  • @mozmex I agree with you, unfortunately, I have to keep up with the crap of these cholos since I live in East LA, as you wrote, the gods wouldn't stand with people who love harming their own people, part of being a Mexica or a Mexican is to learn to respect and obey the deities and not harm any fellow Mexicans, since in the eyes of Quetzalcoatl we are all valuable warriors at his service.

  • @MoonAztecGoddess You guys are all ignorant gullible people. For you to state that the gods wouldn't stand for Mexicans harming Mexicans; they've been doing such tragedy events for centuries as the Aztecs would do. Till this day Mexicans are and have continue to desecrate and ridicule their people. Nothing has change since the Aztec era.

Lets not look at the Aztec people as a high power of culture; that is just asinine! they are no different as the ''CHOLOS' of today. Killing the innocent!

  • @martinez418 ignorant ? gullible? what your describing is part of the human condition. all cultures kill and harm their own. nothing has changed for anyone. but that still doesnt prevent the fact that all mexica ppls where highly achieving people on their own accord. similar to the ancient Egyptians etc. so keep your ignorant opinions to yourself, and let others appreciate the beauty in culture that was lost.

  • @RlCHART That's not an ignorant opinion; it's an actual fact!. There's many cultures that have achieved plenty in their history and time, not just the Aztecs. If they where highly achieving people; where are they now?. They where some what intelligent in their own era, just like any other descendants in other parts of the world. Sad but true; but European & other cultures had far exceeded the Aztecs in many forms of living then. You play a huge preference in favoritism appose to knowledge.Lol

  • @martinez418 The Aztecs fought for valid reasons, however, the Mexican gansters in LA and other parts of the country are only fighting over stupidities, besides, this should be the age where people have different attitudes and await the new age, not the age where a group of warriors fought against the other group. It is wrong for you to compare the Aztecs with the gang people of today, Aztecs believed in our Gods and honored them, the cholos have no god, they consider themselves gods.

  • @MoonAztecGoddess Aztecs fought for valid reason you say; what reason was that? I'll tell you. To persecute, kill, murder rape other indigenous tribal groups. Come on! ''explain YOUR VALID reasons'' oppose to the factors i just stated.

So you're implying that the Aztec God's approved and believed in the acceptance of such savage actions from the Aztec culture?. Your points are way out of context that can easily be railroaded to ridicule.

  • @martinez418 This is the problem with people that do not study about our culture and would rather follow the beliefs of ignorant writers and others who believe of known our history and beliefs. Aztecs fought for reasons of honor, territory and because some renegade tribes posed a threat to the emperor and other people, those are the valid reasons I referred to.

  • @MoonAztecGoddess

I respect the honor concept very well.

You said ''OUR''? so are you full blooded Aztec? or just a Mexican of many diverse groups in one.

What makes YOUR historic writers smarter than the alleged ''IGNORANT'' others????

Didn't you also READ literature on the Aztec culture; wasn't this literature written in Spanish European linguistics?; not that of Aztec writing.

Basically your getting information from the same IGNORANT source i am.

  • @martinez418 I am a native from Oaxaca, my parents are Catholic shamans, therefore, I am a "Full blooded Aztec" not of many diverse groups. I speak, English, Spanish and Nahuatl, therefore, the information I have gathered did not come from the sources you rely on.

  • @martinez418 Savage actions? Well, isn't the Abrahamic God a savage as well? He allowed those who worshiped the golden calf to be killed by Moses and his followers, those people were not just men, but women and children as well. He also allowed many to drawn during the flood and burned the people of Soddom and Gomorah. Every culture has done its own shedding of blood so do not reffer the Aztecs as if you were referring to the Nazis. And please respect me if you want respect.

  • @MoonAztecGoddess Huh?

What Abrahamic god do you speak of?

    What golden calf?

Are these fairy tales you speak of?

    Aztecs were somewhat like Nazis?

Sorry; but your Aztec dance above is nothing but a ''PLAY'' ''GIMMICK'' not real.

Aztec culture has died; including it's original people. All you have left are Mexicans; and CRIOLLO.

Now, please don't confuse Mexicans with Aztecs; two completely diverse groups of human species.

  • @martinez418 Oh, so you're an atheist, not a Christian. I wrote of the God that Jews, Christians and Muslims worship, and I was referring to the Biblical stories of the Israelites who died after they engaged in pagan worship, the flood and the destruction of pagan cities that the God of Moses "burned" according to the Bible. What I meant was, you referred to the emperor and his followers as if you were referring to Hitler and the Nazis, and that to me was disrespectful.

  • @martinez418 The Aztec people did not die, this is another misconception, sure, many Aztecs became involved with Spaniards and thus had babies and those babies became Mexican, but there were many Aztecs who only married other Aztecs and that is how this race managed to remain in existance until today. The only reason why this fact is not known, it's because my country (Mexico) is a hypocrite, they claim of being proud of their Aztec roots, but do not recognize the existance of many tribes.

  • @MoonAztecGoddess

No I'm not Cristian; but Agnostic.

So you're implying due to you being born in Oaxaca and having parents of Catholic Shamans considers you ''FULL BLOODED AZTEC?''. There's many diverse groups of human species around the world that have also adapted to Shamans belief; and those of MEXICAN heritage as well. How well can you trace your blood line to consider yourself FULL BLOODED AZTEC?. Have you've taken a genealogical DNA test?. Please due consider one. You might be surprise.

  • @martinez418 I don't base my heritage solely on what I mentioned. I can trace my bloodline to shamans of the past, who lived before the Spaniards arrived in our land. I did take a DNA test, and I didn't do it because I doubted my heritage, but because I was curious and yes, the results matched what I have always known about my heritage.

  • @MoonAztecGoddess

Ok; so what is it, did you or did you not take a DNA test?.

The real indigenous from MEXICO still reside there, but deep inside the forests. It's proven!.

I really doubt you're full blooded AZTEC; but a water down so do speak. Just like the MEXICAN.

I know you don't care if i beleive you or not; just my opinion. The raise is gone and killed by foreigners and past MEXICAN fascism rule.

  • @martinez418 Yes, I did take the DNA test. Yes, some do, but many reside in other places, there are tribes all over Mexico. I wouldn't lie to you or anyone else, as it is described in my page, I have the same beliefs of my ancestors, meaning the Aztecs. Sure, Mexicans have damaged our people very much, but the Gods have blessed us, which is why we have been able to remain in existance.

  • @MoonAztecGoddess

If you took the DNA test; what were the results?. I took mines and i was BLOWN away!, with the results.

    What were your results?.

  • @martinez418 As I wrote, it proved what my parents have always told me, I am of Aztec descent.

  • @MoonAztecGoddess

Those were your results on the DNA test? AZTEC100%, are you sure? was there ASIATIC descendants there by any chance; meaning in your DNA?

I understand your love for the AZTEC culture.

Where were you born; USA or MEXICO?

  • @martinez418 The specialist started giving me the talk about specifics and percentages, but I really did not pay much attention, I just wanted to confirm what I already knew. Yes, I do love my culture and I am proud of being a neo pagan, meaning I have chosen to believe in the Gods my ancestors worshipped. I was born in Mexico.

  • @MoonAztecGoddess

Do you reside in MEXICO or the USA. And if you reside in the USA why that preference?

  • @martinez418 I live in the US, Los Angeles to be exact. Well, I came here long ago because things were difficult there, if you are Mexican you must know. I started working here, I met my husband, then I went to college and now I'm working here. On top of that, I am a mother of two sons. My life is here, but my family and I spend a great deal of time in Mexico, so it's like I can have the best of both countries.

  • @MoonAztecGoddess

Nice to know were neighbors. What college did you attend?

  • @martinez418 UEI College

  • I remember doing this dance with my husband and our other danzante friends :)

  • hot

  • no se ke danza estan haciendo.. this is not the fire danza.. :( puro show nomas.. ke lastima..

  • no se ke danza estan haciendo.. this is not the fire danza.. :(

  • prehispanic, hispanic, and modern day latin culture is so powerful

  • This is not a ritual, is just a modern show using old costumes. The real ritual are so sacred to be exposed like this.

  • Hermosa danza, me encanta ver hombres danzando una danza azteca.

  • @Aeboi1956 jajaja Cholo means what what country you from? I ain't mix with no mayate fuck that, Primero me korto un Guevo(h).

Puro Mexica ala verga Los mayates.

  • to those people stating that you are a cholo, unless one of ur parents was a mulato and the other a indian, you are not a Cholo. The people that can claim to be Cholos are prolly from Domica, or haiti, where there is a strong black mix, someone that was mestizo (spanish/indian) that mixed with an indian, produced a coyote. Get your Casta names right!!

  • @Aeboi956 cholo means 75% Amerindian 25% Spaniard

  • @Aeboi956 mestizo however has many different meanings it can be spanish/indian. a hispanized amerindian would fall under mestizo. someone who is 95% amerindian 5% spanish would also fall under mestizo.the way race was classified in Mexico & Central and South America is unacceptable today in the 21 century.all this labels shouldnt be used anymore

  • @mozmex Yeah im getting tired of the chorros claiming aztec tradition. I dont believe in killing my own brothers and sisters and thats what the chorros are doing. Im sorry but being a chollo is not being a warrior or a soldier its a gasto de vida. the chollo lifestyle is a pendejada the only thing that I hate is that we have people like them fucking it up for us. Brown Pride I rep but not the same as those lame asses. Die for a good cause not for something stupid.

  • wow nice...=D

  • ahhh...i wish i could see this live. i mean i go every year to mexico and my town attempts but this is like going back in time. it's so...i dont know. but it makes me feel proud of my heritage.

    viva mexico. :]

  • I like the budwiser switch to the teatre jaja. Nice bodies white or pale they look good! I like the dance the video......

  • is it just me or are those Aztecs very white skinned?lol nice video though.

  • firedance swith budwiser advert in the background..

  • Welcome to the 21st century.

  • i dance the same when my mom makes pot roast, i g et so happy , i effin love potroast!!!!!!!!

  • the reason i ask this question is because i've seen the "fire dance" before but for some reason it always looks different. the only thing i see the same in all is the jar (if you will) with fire. people don't have to get offended at a smiple question.

  • It's because the Aztecs weren't the only ones who did a fire dance, and even then, different regions of the Aztec kingdom had different ways of doing it. Aztec power stretched from the southern end of modern day Mexico, all the way to modern day southern california and arizona, guaranteeing diversity, especially without any form of communication . There are lots of ways of doing it.

  • hmmm. im not not sure but the dances have probably been modified throught the centuries. the actuall dances where probably only passed throught practice and where not written down. maybe if you do some research from very very old books you can find some info on how they where performed. peace out.

  • We come from tradition... and like you said... Yes.. we learn and our grand-grand parents learn by practice and watching, not by reading something wrote on a book.....

  • Algunos instrumentos musicales usados son Teponaztli, Tecomapiloa, Omichicahuaztli, Huehuetl, Coyolli, Chililitli, Chicahuaztli, Cacalachtli, Ayotl, Ayacahtli, Tetzilacatl, Ayoyotes NO SE POR QUE SIEMPRE SUENAN TAMBORES SI MIS ANTEPASADOS UTILIZABAN MUCHOS INSTRUMENTOS

  • tletl

  • wat i want 2 no is how do they no this was the fire dance. did the aztecs leave sum kind of hand book on how 2? just asking

  • not all of our records/books/documents were burned, there was some left.. and theres also oral tradition, but you gotta go to Mexico City for that.

I recommend talking to Nahuatl speakers if you are interested in this stuff.

  • they just brought the tradition from hundreds of years ago,

  • the aztecs didn't get wipe out like many americans believe their decedents are still alive today which still practice many old traditions including dances some change due euro influences-many aztec or nahuatl as they are known today-are still fullblooded but you won;t see them unless you travel to south mexico

  • Pues AWEBO!!!! Puro Neza UP IN THIS BIATCH!!!!

  • Is sad that there is so much negativity to it all. It's anything good enough to leave it be and enjoy it?

I choose to ignore negativity and will enjoy the good in this and all else.

I choose to ignore, ignorant comments!

This stuff is good and rich in culture, celebrating rituals in culture is awesome.

we are not fucking gringos ¬¬

  • i LOVE this. fuegooooo!

  • It's sad your 5 year old would probably appreciate a dance with cultural meaning better than his own mother ever could.

  • Too bad such vermin like yourself are allowed to bring offsprings to this world.

  • ummmm, would you prefer him to do the hanky panky or ho down? Stop feeding your five year old so much sugar lady

  • Aztec rules all. ~Bow down and kneel before the Sun GOD~

  • I wish I was an Aztec!!!

  • @Konoko88 You are a citizen of the earth. To my mind thats good enough ;)

    Namaste :)

  • @Konoko88 could i ask. what race are you?

  • Ecstatic

  • Was Quetzalcoatl an actual reptilian being or was it just an interpretation of some star system/constellation referred to as the serpent ?

  • Neither of those. Most of the ancient Toltec, Aztec and Mayan gods were abstractions rather than based on natural facts. In case of Quetzalcoatl, there was a person called ce-acatl Topiltzin Quetzalcoatl, who was a leader of a civilization called the Toltecs, it is still not clear if this character just took the name of an existing god or if the name of the god was taken from this person's name. I hope this helps

    Cheers

  • im so proud to be an aztec!!!!

AZTECS: The most powerful empire of the Americas with a beautiful city "The Great Tenochtitlan" was called by europeans the "venice of americas". VIVA MEXICO Y LA RAZA DE BRONCE!!!

  • This is why I love being a mexican as much as Indians in the US have a Native Culture us Mexicans also tell a story of our Indian Native Culture but far different.

  • How Beautiful..Too bad its only for "ShoW"..Encourage your group to Not just dress up as our ancestors but live like them, walk in a good way. Share our culture, food, language, song.

I know some of you come from traditional groups from Mexico. but more of that needs to be included in your performances. DO more ceremony, and less show.

    Tlazocamatli for sharing.

    Nochipa Tiahui Mexica!

  • The film footage was shot at two different performances in Milwaukee, WI. last year.

  • August 27th of last year at Mexican Fiesta on the Harley Stage. Dave Butler

  • Wow! How beautiful! As a native American myself, I love to see people displaying their heritage. I'd love to have a longer version of this on DVD.

  • Native American? Cool. What tribe are you from just out of curiosity?

  • THIS IS FROM M E X I C O!!!!
