Interesting that Murray and morales backed up Elvis from 1969-72 and Hess and Morales backed him up on two of his gospel albums in 66 and 72. They won Grammys

It's about how great its gonna be and that we're going to be worry-free and able to praise Jesus all the time and forever! It doesn't imply that heaven is about us at all, that's just how you inferred it.
@James35031 YOUR RIGHT ABOUT THAT JAMES. JIM HAND JUST JOINED THE GOUP. BOTH THOSE GUYS WERE GREAT TENORS. SHERRILL SANG WITH ELVIS FOR A FEW YEARS. MY FAVORITE IMPERIALS GROUP WAS, JIM MURRAY, TERRY BLACKWOOD ROGER WILES, AND ARMOND MORALES WITH JOE M ON THE PIANO. THOSE WERE THE DAYS
A great quartet classic initially recorded by the Statesmen when Jake was still with them. This recording is from the Imperials album, Slightly Regal recorded @ 1966. It was the last record with the late Sherrill Nielsen singing tenor with the Imps- he is definitely the vocal tenor on the soundtrack you hear as the video is lip synched. The Imperials re-recorded this song a couple of times after Jake and Gary left. I'm unaware of any videos with Sherrill and Imperials, but would love to see one.
@James35031 I didn't think that was Jim Murray, although the voice is very good. BTW, does anyone know if this movie can be see anywhere online in its entirety?
Wish we could find vid's of the Imperials w/ Sherrill Nielsen. They were such a perceived threat to other SG quartet's, thay may not have let them on TV much.
What a classic - sounds awfully like the Jim Murray I "know"! They're sure young here - what year was this? Gary seems to be ageless - looks so much the same now as then!
I have never seen this footage. I know all four of these people from work situations from 15-20 years after this clip would've been shot. Jake became a legend but didn't seem to know it; he was grand to work alongside. Jim, as well, kept a good perspective on things and had an humble heart.
Wow! I never thought I would see a video of early Imperials. I have albums from that time but this is great. (even though it's not Jim singing) Thanks for posting.
Brother Jake Hess has been enjoying his first day in Heaven and many many more since he Accended up into the eternal heavenly abode singing with all the glorified saints around the magestic tree of Life, bathed in the bright everlasting Light of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in whom Jake served so long and so faithfully for so many decades!!
kd5hms63 ...so brother Hess is singing in heaven?,...wow, it surely is nice to have a faith like yours, but it surely goes against what paul says in 1 Cor.15.51-52;1 Thes.4.13-17. So brother Hess, who I enjoyed very much, has preceeded us?
Time has no meaning with God so how do you know he isn't singing right now? Eternity has no beginning and no end so who knows? And stop being so sarcastic to a fellow Christian. This was not said in love and you know it, more a self righteous spirit. than a loving one. If you feel you must correct someone, do it in love not ridicule.
Ok. I recend the use of the word "Wow". I regret using it. Now, I would affirmed that such thinking " JH enjoying his first day...since he Accended." is contrary to what Paul teaches in the verses above. To say something as FACT when is going directly against what Paul thaught and what Jesus says ( John 14.3 ) is not biblical sound. And evegpt, you may want to read 1 kings 18.27 - now, this is sarcasm at it's best something that I did not do!. In Godly love Have a good one. I mean it. God Bless.
2 Cor 5:6-8 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
(For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
Luke 16 is another example.
Don't confuse the Resurrection of the body at the calling up (rapture) with what happens to the believer after death and before the calling up of the saints.
Jesus waited for Stephen and stood up when he passed from this earth.
Remember, God is in control and has more than just 3 or 4 verses to be dogmatic about. He has a total book that teaches more than we will know on earth.
You could be right..I know Jim personally but it could just be the recording quality and his voice at that age. Everything else seems like it fits....This is a tough one. Great video though. Thanks
Fantastic..i never realized that Jim and Armando went that far back with the group.

Jim Murray was with Jake Hess & The Imperials, but the voice on soundtrack was the previous tenor with the Imperials-Sherrill Nielsen.

I think Sherrill Nielson was the tenor on the audio. Jim was lipsyncing to Sherrill's voice.

What about what Paul was moved to write:
2 Cor 5:6-8 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
(For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
