The length of a Rasta's dreads is a measure of wisdom, maturity, and knowledge in that it can indicate not only the Rasta's age, but also his/her time as a Rasta.
Also, according to the Bible, Samson was a Nazarite who had "seven locks". Rastas argue that these "seven locks" could only have been dreadlocks, as it is unlikely to refer to seven strands of hair.
Dreadlocks have also come to symbolize the Lion of Judah (its mane) and rebellion against Babylon.

but if you look into it even further you will realise that the story of samson is actually an ancient babylonian myth and his hair resembles the rays of the sun just like the lions mane- the origin of a lot of these stories are metaphorical of the sun to babylon, but meant to be taken literally by us,the sheep

not literal baldheads though, its a metaphor not literally somebody with a bald head- ghandi was actually very very racist against black people also-he is quoted to have said they are "less intelligent than apes"or something along those lines. he was portrayed a lot better than he was- ghandi was inside babylon and he was a metaphorical baldhead

He has to be considered the most important figure in Reggae. His shows were more of a revival, than a concert. He was trying to save the world from self destruction. He was making new converts of reggae music. His song catalog stands on it's own merit. This Trenchtown artist, became a international musician. Bob Marley is a musical and cultural icon.
