  • I can see why conservatives don't like this guy, but he did manage to take a strong stance against the federal reserve.

Whether you're liberal or conservative your main objective should be against this organization.

  • nice.

  • Weiner/Grayson 2012! encourage you to check Rep. WEINER take on republicans! He's also great!

  • did i say ASS CLOWNs!?...... NOICE!

  • 33%of people who tried aspertame immediately felt nauseous and it was deemed to cause cancer in rats. I do not drink soda of any kind, and will never again because of how much sugar is in it, but fucking fake sugar patented by rummy and they dont disclose the true facts of their products. I will reinforce that last statement with personal xperience. Now we have AL HORE getting no bid contracts to make fucking XRAY machines in the company that that Fucking ASS CLOWN OWNS. 33% ownership. FUCKTHAT

  • There is no inflation on the gold standard, imagine how rich you'd be if your pay was worth gold. lols, the arguement has gotten rediculously old already. End the FED! Thatll stop the HORRIFFIC PILLAGING of the value of the dollar. DONALD RUMSFELD, the aspertame king, FUCK YOU! Thanks for not knowing what you did with 2.3 trillion dollars in the year 2001, you were questioned bout it and Boom the next day 9/11. And this fucking clown said the plane was shot down over pennsylvania.

  • parties dont matter, principles do and Ron Paul is the man of choice. Ron Paul for President 2012! These conversations end if RP is president. Please help end these keynsian/hayek talks, can we please elect him, end the constant devalution(beating the shit out of, or ie RAPING) the dollar by the crooks who robbed close to 98% of the value of our dollar within 100 yrs. Thanks but no thanks Bernanke, rothchild, bilderberg, CFR. Lets be honest the dollar is worth basically shit. Fantastic!!!~

  • Alan Grayson is the man! he is a bit of a socialist with the healthcare plan, weiner is a huge socialist. Do NOT take from one free person to give to another. This healthcare is wrong! Plain old wrong. When Gov gets involved you never get better service, service always goes down and the only thing that goes up is the cost. So if you want to make a few more rich people, richer, than go for the democratc/republican jargon, but if you want liberty as deemed such(constitution),libertarianisthe pick.

  • This guy is a moron which is why he was destroyed in his election this past fall. So glad he is gone

  • what the, how did a singing parrot lead me to this..

  • Grayson will be back!

  • Mind Bent as many times as Bush lied to the country about 9-11 he was never ever called a Liar on the floors of Congress. What did Obama lie about that Joe Wilson accused him of?

  • Man I wish you were running the country Alan Grayson! You wouldn't take any of this shit the Republicans are throwing out there, as it seems they are acting upset little kids who didn't get what they want, and stamping their feet. They just continually hamstring and filibuster progression. Yet the ridiculously stupid public who buys their brand of shit, will no doubt vote them back into office, where we'll just fall back to the days of Bush Jr... I guess we'll finally implode when that happens.

  • @Asylamer We really con only expect a small fraction of the population to have wised up. The republicans will manage to suppress the turn out and bring out the uninformed mobs they call their base. The election will not go well for those who know stuff this year. It seems being right and knowing stuff is not popular with the "tea party"

Try asking a tea party person if their taxes went up or down under Obama and who's tax increase we are about to see in the new year.

  • What do you call a pile of shit in a suit? Alan Grayson

  • @justonemorename ... good luck selling that to congress lol

  • iD RATHER HAVE FREEDOM THAN FORCED HEALTHCARE

  • @tommysixgunner You are not being offered the choice between freedom and health care. The choice you are being offered is to have a regulated insurance market where you have some rights or a market where you are a slave to the whim of the insurance corporations. Corporations are not democracies and to the degree that they control things, you are a mere serf.

  • @knowledgemonger you can disguise facism however you want surely it wont be tolerated

  • @tommysixgunner You can attempt to hide behind words designs to invoke emotions, but logic will always show that you are wrong. You are just a willing serf who doesn't like the efforts of others to ensure freedom for the nation. Bow down before your corporate masters if you like but don't expect others to go along with you.

  • @knowledgemonger your a fucking moron im independently wealthy you fucking creep stop trying to put your gay fantasys off on other you tube viewers

  • @tommysixgunner Now look out that window. See the trailer park you really live in. You're nothing but a tool of the corporations that hold the other end of your leash.

BTW: Attempts at using "gay" as an insult only works on those who are not confident of their orientation and often indicates that the person attempting the insult has something to hide. Now be quiet and let the adults talk.

  • @knowledgemonger hahahaha listen cockmonger I dont live in a trailer park your making such an ass of yourself What the fuck are you even talking about sounds like you have spent to much time sucking your bosses dick I can totally tell that you are a queer thew way you talk all that shit

  • @tommysixgunner I guess you can't afford a trailer park. Go crawl back into your hole. You sorry little lap dog. The corporation on the other end of your leash won't give you any extra doggy biscuits just because you barked at someone. They are more likely to come by to hit you with a rolled up newspaper.

Anyone reading your sniveling posts can see just what a sorry pustule on the anus of the world you are.

  • @knowledgemonger aww whats a matter lil cockmonger did sumbody in da big bad corporation rape you in da ass. What the fuck is wrong with you maybe you cant understand english your talk is real tough you probably talk a bunch of shit on you tube than go beat up your poor old wife and verbally abuse your gay son is that it did somebody in a corporation turn you kid into a faggot

  • @tommysixgunner Still trying to insult me I see. I'm sorry but as I pointed out you don't get any extra doggy biscuits for just barking. You have to roll over and perform other tricks other tricks on command and then maybe they will pat your little head. You seem very hung up on that gay thing. Why don't you just come out of the closet? I assume your trailer has closets. It wouldn't need many.

  • @knowledgemonger I dont need to insult you your so fucking stupid your an insult too the human race and your family you see your whole basis for your statements is based on assumption, bad thing about assumption you make an ass out of your self than your wife puts sombody elses cock in her ass than sucks his dick because she thinks your not a man

  • @tommysixgunner You attempted to insult me and made your self look like a fool. You are right that you don't need to insult me other than perhaps some deep psychological need you may have to attempt to make your self feel better about your miserable life.

BTW: "your" and "you're" are different words. You have made that error several times now.

  • @knowledgemonger there you go again making an ass of yourself assuming you know something of which you have no clue.

  • @tommysixgunner You have shown yourself to be a fool to all that have read your words. You are just a sorry little man who thought that he could win an argument with insults because he didn't have the facts. You lost on the issue and lost on the insults. Now you can crawl back to your trailer park.

  • @knowledgemonger Feel free to come over to my house and talk alll that bullshit any time you like

  • @knowledgemonger you talk real tough i bet you yuor the type of person to piss down their leg when shit hits the fan

  • @knowledgemonger It seems like all you Liberal faggots dont have anything to say but the same old tired bullshit you can never answer a question with fact and or truth you talk out the side of your neck with shit and nonsense you dont know anything about me but you continually talk about me as if youve known me your whole life you sir are a fucking queer your jokes are tired and you actually have no knowledge your a fool that will be enslaved and raped because you are a coward a stupid coward

  • @knowledgemonger health care that the government says you have to have is an infringement on my freedom you stupid fool

  • repugnants should apologize every time they speak.

  • grayson kicks face.

  • @ShadoWolFox09 Reducing the argument to something that has nothing to do with this discussion proves that you have nothing constructive to say.

  • knowledgemonger I feel bad for you...I can tell you have your mind made up..as I have my mind made up...we will not change each others beliefs...but that is kool...this is STILL America...I pray the "hope & Change your looking for is not the "HOAX & CHAINS" That I see comming!! Remember this conversation, when your freedoms and all rights are striped away...and it dont hurt to be prepared!!

  • @spgfld1903 I feel sorry for you that you don't see the real risk to your freedoms and imagine one that doesn't. The so called Citizens United case has handed more power to corporations. Corporations are not democracies. To the degree that they control things, you are a slave.

  • What the hell!!?? This video is crap his words don't match his lips. Was this a dubbed over video?

  • @Gngrcpl It is a very common problem with video. Unfortunately the standard for the video information and the standard for the audio part were just sort of pasted together. The video frame rate does not divide evenly into the audio DAC update rate. If you pull out the audio part to process it to increase the volume or remove a noise, you often end up with things not matching up when you put it back together.

  • The philosophy of republicans really only serves the very rich. One poster was outraged because abortions are caused by irresponsible mothers. Conservatives want that mother to have that baby but then deny any social programs to help that mother and child. For like 5 Years after a baby is born someone needs to care for that child and if your husband left you or u don't have an ivy league education it almosts costs as much as you make to pay for daycare. Not everyone is born into luxury.

  • because it is being forced down our throats.its all about the constitution....my liberty and freedom to choose myself..NOT have the govt. do it for me! .look around...why do you think there are tea parties? by the way..the tea parties last poll were about 67% against the deathbill that nobama passed.....its a revolution...wait till nov elections....lol a democrat will be a rareity!!

  • @spgfld1903 If you want to know why there are tea parties, follow the line to Freedom Works, Dick Armey, and the lobbying firm he worked for. Take a little trip over to Fox news to see them being supported by another big corporation.

The bill only makes a few changes to the way insurance works. It doesn't effect the providers only the insurance companies have to take just a little less profit. Before it if you have private insurance and have a child with a birth defect, you are screwed.

  • This is not about Democrats or Republicans. This is about common sense. I mean being against this guy is call being stupid. He actually cares versus to Republicans or Democrats that do nothings. This guy goes to the people accountable and ask them question like where is the money, and takes no bullshit answers. We need him! And you all know we do.

  • with the fema camps....do you really care about my safety & wellbeing??

  • @spgfld1903 I do worry about the wellbeing of anyone who believes in the nonsense about FEMA camps. They are less real than the toothfairy or bigfoot, but some seem to believe very firmly in them.

  • god i love this guy. i wish he would run with anthony weiner from new york. thumbs up!

  • He may be better than Weiner. Back when Grayson was working as a lawyer, he took on some important whistle blower cases. Contractors were putting american troops at risk to increase their profits. If it was not for him, I am sure that more troops would have been electrocuted by miswired showers and poisoned by spoiled food.

The republican admin knew about these cases and sat on them. They cared more about the profits of the contractors than the lives of the troops.

  • @cjm608 Heh, I just saw this comment now. Ah, how Anthony Weiner has apparantly changed.

  • wow i guess bill oreilly and sean hannity have found their way onto youtube...you're gonna flaunt that abortion card and say that abortion is bad and yada yada yada but really, it's just a talking point for the radical religious right...you fail to take into account that most of these abortions occur because the mother is put into extenuous circumstances whether its rape or incest or the most probable, her and her family cannot pay for it because they don't have the insurance to help pay for it

  • You don't have to be religious to know that killing babies is wrong! Rape and incest only make .03% of abortions, people that support pro-murder use that as a justification without researching it...Most abortions 99% are performed because the mother lacks taking the responsibilities of prevention and does not want to be inconvenienced with a baby...So they kill it! Nazi's were pro-choice as well, they decided who lived or died..

  • You just proved Godwins law.

On the internet all arguments degenerate to the point where somebody compares something to the Nazis and at that point all rational argument stops.

The Nazis were not pro-choice. They did not give people a choice they killed them. In this lack of choice they were just like the so called "pro-life" folks. The entire "pro-life" movement is a bunch of Nazis who wish to control the lives of women and send them to an early grave.

  • @knowledgemonger Yeah we are just like the nazis, oh wait we don't want to socialize medicine we don't want to control everyaspect of a persons life...wait it sounds like the elitist liberal agenda....some of us on the right support a womans right to choose.....your an idiot with your hypocritical dogma

  • @meanranger I never said that you were just like the Nazis. I have pointed out that the Nazis purged all the actual socialists and became purely a fascist party but kept the name because it sounded good in German.

There is no socialized medicine being discussed. This is all about medical insurance so that people can afford to go to the doctor. The providers are not effected other than they are more certain of being paid. It helps small companies to insure their workers.

  • no mean ranger .... your the idiot here .... the glen beck suck holeing moron

  • @meanranger "Your" and "you're" are two different words.

  • @WorldShark

Who gives a shit? Its the fucking internet. Go die.

  • @wifflum "Its" and "it's" are two different words.

  • @ryanisnumerouno I AGREE. thumbs up.

  • Grayson forgot to apologize for the 126,000 dead babies that are killed "each day" due to abortion and will be part of what is called "Health-Care Reform"....Obama has already agreed to send 400 million dollars for abortions in other countries....don't think for a second that abortion will not be included in Obama "death-care"! I guess liberals didn't feel that we're not killing enough babies here so they globalized the massacre! Nothing worse that a Liberal Democrat, They're sick in the head!

  • The health care reform bill maintains the current status on the government not paying for abortions. The majority of Americans think that abortion should be safe legal and rare. This is the position fo the democrats. The republicans want them to be unsafe illegal and very common if you judge by their actions. If you really care about reducing the number of abortions you will support this bill and vote democratic. If it is just a political talking point you will oppose.

  • @knowledgemonger

I one of those un-fortunate persons

who has to suffer from having this

    mentally unstable liberal puke as

my congress man >.....I will assure that

my vote will go to Kurt Kelly

  • Yes, I am sure that you will vote for whatever weasel the republicans finally find to put up against Grayson. The same folks who had control for 8 years and left the mess we are now in, will claim to be the right ones to fix it and I'm sure you will believe them.

  • Alan Grayson has made a lot of republicans foaming at the mouth mad because he dares to speak the truth about them.

  • @talllikelurchis

I'm both a liberal and a Christian. I'm against abortion. But I'm also against right wing fabrication. You've obviously been drinking the Limbaugh, Hannity, O-Reilly coolaid.

You don't need to exagerrate the number of abortions each year to get your point across (it's much closer to 70,000 than your 126,000). But that has nothing to do with the Democrats healthcare bill. The truth is that federal law will continue to prohibit federal funds from paying for abortions.

  • @sandylarsen lPresident Obama Approves $400 Million in Tax Dollars for Abortions Around the World......

What makes you think that Obama

won't figure a way to weasel it in the

    Health Care bill

if it passes.....Remember we're dealing with

a person that has not kept any promise!

And shows no sign of doing so!

  • The $400 million was not for abortions. This is the sort of stupid lying that undermines your case. If you want to have a real debate, don't try to post such outright nonsense.

Just because Obama doesn't force the organizations to use the "abstinence only" nonsense and will allow things like condoms to be included, Don't try to claim that he put that money towards abortions. You should assume that others can check your facts.

  • @sandylarsen Exept that an unborn fetus is not alivve, and the FACT that there is NO GOD. Christian thinking is what has scewd up america, this is also a fact.

  • @Funmakinmoney I will disagree with just one point in your post. You suggest that it is the "Christian thinking" that is at work. I say that there is no evidence that the folks causing the problems are christians. Jesus said feed the hungry heal the sick and etc. He never said to build fancy churches or seek political power or start wars etc, the big long list of the things that these so called christians have been up to.

Real christians will be supporting the health insurance reforms.

  • I dont know, call me crazy but could it be that Republicans dont want health care reform is because the 44700 that die every year are mostly DEMOCRATS. I wonder could it be? Naaa, they believe in sanctity of life

  • @MrKrizan Grayson is full of shit! He needs to take those numbers back to the land of make believe where they originated... The sad thing is there are actuaula people that are dumb enough to believe that shit! LOL!

  • The really sad thing is that folks like you will let 44,000 people die every year for your political goals. You will also allow small businesses to be given an extra burden and prevented from getting started by the costs of health care. American small businesses are at a serious disadvantage to the multinationals because of the need to provide health insurance.

All for political purpose you allow this harm to America.

  • @talllikelurchis, it's a Harvard study man. (Have you heard of Harvard?) Please don't be stupid. Just read the study.

  • 44000 is a Massachusetts number USA today says it is around 18000 people. By the 1st Number it is <2% by the USA today number it is <1% uninsured. Consider anyone who walks into an ER will be treated. Some of this could be not seeking treatment. Also 20 M illegal aliens do not have insurance legally. So when they die even in a hospital they are uninsured getting the best health care in the world. The 44k is misleading so I Apologize.

  • "People die. Sorry" - until it's you who are dead from a simple illness because you couldn't get health insurance as a result of a totally unrelated digestive problem 'pre-existing condition'.

  • @fads90 - really? most people??

you're very well informed. (i can't put as much sarcasm as I'm feeling in type. but trust me Im laying it on very thick)

  • I have met more people who don't have insurance by choice then not having it because they couldn't work out an arrangement with their insurance company. I do think it's much ado about nothing but that's because my personal experiences have taught me that. If they can't afford it then they're usually covered by Medicare. But yeh I have met ONE family whose in between. I'm sure there are more but it doesn't seem to be a that big a problem to my point of view.

Please prove me wrong next time.

  • "44,789 die from no insurance coverage", that's bad yes, but is it part of the over 750,000 people who actually die in the United States every year from something far more dangerous: modern medicine, including FDA approved pharmaceuticals!!

  • his daughter is in my class

  • The Health Care bill is against the Constitution, but so is 45,000 Americans dying every year! Also Americans are dying with Health Insurance coverage because the insurance company denied their surgery, like colon cancer. We need to see the Health Care bill, in it is gun control, chip, and force vaccination, God vs. Devil new world order for hell.

  • Humans form governments to deal with the general welfare. The failed health insurance system is a threat to the general welfare and therefor government is required to deal with the problem.

  • Basically, the Constitution is partially antiquated in that we can't depend on it in modern society to make laws that are pertinent to us, not to the founding fathers.

  • They did cleverly allow the constitution to be adapted and changed as needed. They also kept many sections in as general terms as they could in hopes of covering things they did not think of.

Today we have many who selectively read the constitution to mean only what they wish it did so as to make claims like the "public option" being unconstitutional. It is interstate commerce and it is part of assuring the public welfare.

  • There's nothing in the Constitution that says people cannot die.

  • What the fuck does "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" mean to YOU then? You can't polish a turd, man.

  • for everyone who says just go to the emergency room, think about this idea...what if something is wrong with you and it requires surgery and you dont have insurance? see how quickly they boot you out of the doctors office then...

  • Even just a disease that needs an ongoing drug supply will prove that not having insurance leads to your death. The emergency room will give you just enough drugs to keep you alive until you are off their property and will be someone else's problem.

The insurance companies take about 25% of what we call "health care costs" right off the top. The public option may force them to lower this to only 20% so they fight like mad against it. No lie is too outrageous for them to spread.

  • You are right that the issue here is insurance. you are wrong about the emergency room. You will find yourself dumped in skid row after they have done just enough to keep you from dieing that day.

You are also wrong about rationing etc. You have fallen for the insurance companies' talking point. All a public option will do is make it so that the hard to insure get insurance. It will hurt the profits of the insurance companies a little so they are against it.

  • I'd like to point out that every other industrialized nation in the world disagrees... but hey its your cunt-ry... socialized medicine, the best option... but hey, why keep stupid fat ignorant americans alive???

  • Unfortunately, the corporations have a strangle hold on the information going to the average voter. Most don't know that places like Canada get far better out comes with far less money by having just a government run insurance.

If you want to see how well corporations control the information try asking a group of americans whether their taxes went up or down under Obama. For the vast majority, "down" is correct. Because there was a few percent increase on the rich they don't know this.

  • @benvd cuz we got a quarter of the world economy. We stop trading with you a quarter of your people go unemployed. A third if u live in China.

  • there in lies the problem, America cannot perceive the world without them. If it wasn't for China you wouldn't have any money! If it wasn't for Canada, America wouldn't have access to cheap natural resources en-mass and therefore wouldn't be able to build or develop anything...

In the current economy, you're right. But America has no chance of regaining global trust in anything that comes from their country, except for Apple, and that's sad...

    Social/Economic Reform, America needs it

  • @benvd The same reason you keep your fat ignorant losers alive in your shithole excuse of a nation!

  • @meanranger what shit hole are you from??

  • @benvd same reason you are alive...god chose not to take you yet...Once healtcare is socialized...the rest of your freedoms go..and very quickly...why would obama sign the posse coma tada act (to raise the military against citizens) that is bullshit..i Do believe woman has a choice ..its her body!! but i do NOT want the govt telling me what to do & when to do it!! And I do not want to be given handouts..i can make my own way in this world...and fyi i am not a fat slob!

  • @spgfld1903 You really have no clue what is really going on. Small companies will now be more able to get started because the health care bill deals with some of the problem with pre-existing conditions. Large corporations hate the idea of having to compete with new companies and are thus running a campaign of lies against it. It doesn't change anything about the providers. They still remain as for profit companies.

  • @knowledgemonger your running a campain of lies that advocate the nonsense facist healthcare

  • @knowledgemonger blah blah blah blah blah you have no point you are in defence of something no one supports and no one wants You can call me a toady or whatever you want but the fact remains I wil continue to exercise my right to Freedom and I am willing to fight for it to ensure that it will not be taken away by government or anyone you are a coward you support a corrupt mess that wants nothing more than to see you enslaved and dependant you are a joke.

  • @tommysixgunner You are just a willing slave to your corporate masters. Corporations are not democracies and to the degree that they control things you are a mere serf but this suits you just fine. You don't want freedom and you don't have freedom you have and you want to be a toady to the corporations.

  • @knowledgemonger You didn't argue against anything he said. You are just name calling. I was actually hoping to read a short debate. This was so one sided.

  • @Coolflames101 In previous posting I have already disproved all of the points made in the last posts. There is not much point in repeating the proofs over and over for someone who doesn't want to understand the truth.

It is a fact that the CBO said that the reforms save money. It is obvious that corporations are not democratic so if they are allowed to control things you are not living in a democratic society. The so called "health care" bill reformed health insurance to give you more rights

  • @benvd capitalism is as close to perfect a system to have, as long as it run morally. that's the reason why we defected from england, and left the rest of the world to deal with their own socialist, communist and dictatorship governments.

and btw, saying that all Americans are ignorant and fat is like saying all brits have bad teeth.

  • Comment removed

  • Hi everyone. I like the U.S, I studied for a short while (note: brought money, took none- its important, you care about money) You guys are great, very misunderstood in the world, nice people. BUT, listen, you guys scream "communist" but most of you don't even know what it means. Having healthcare is not "communist", it is human. Why would anyone! deny healthcare from the sick, poor, elderly. Especially in such a great country like yours. You guys spend 35%!!! of the budget on war...

  • Correct.

  • He is somewhat selective in statistics, he talks about numbers rather than percentages its like 1 in 10,000 and doesn't mention ages, is it some 90 year old needing a heart transplant. How would that number compare with a goverment run health care

  • He is suggesting government run health insurance not government run healthcare. Those who oppose it like to mischaracterize it. The "public option" is an insurance system that would help to hold down costs. Right now about 25% of what we call the cost of healthcare is money that is taken off the top by insurance companies.

If you look at a system like they have in France and Canada, you will see that ensuring that providers get paid lowers costs and improves results.

  • @knowledgemonger why are everyones premiums skyrocketing you are mistaken

  • @tommysixgunner Everyones premiums are not skyrocketing. They were going up before the bill. The CBO has pointed out that in the long run the reform is a money saver. The rates on insurance will continue to grow. There is nothing we can do about that because we are an aging population. It is just basic math and economics at work.

  • @knowledgemonger You are full of shit and lies I can count on you if I want to be oppressed, have my freedoms taken away, have to rely on the government for scraps, or be generally fucked up with no money and no job.

  • @tommysixgunner You are the one who as you say "are full of shit". You are nothing but a toady for your corporate masters. I suggest you move to Somalia if you hate government so much. It is a libertarian paradise.

  • @knowledgemonger Another Assumption imagine that You assume that i work for a corporation You asssume that I live in a trailer You Assume that I am misimformed because I oppose you

  • @tommysixgunner I look at what you say and see that you are merely a toady for your corporate masters. You have spouted their lines and made assumptions of things that are simply not true.

  • @knowledgemonger Everyones premiums are sky rocketing. Why do I get penalized if I sell my house under Obamacare, Why do I have to pay fines if I dont want Government forced healthcare. Why should private business have to ask the government what kind of insurance they need so they dont get fined You seem to have your head up your ass You keep talking shit about Big Corporations What is Big Government but the Biggest Corporation. Its socialism and its bullshit Less government More Freedom.

  • @tommysixgunner There you go again making another wild assumption. There is no fine if you don't get health insurance. There is a tax break if you do get insurance. This make sense because those with insurance don't end up costing the government money when they get sick unlike those without insurance. It is the right thing to do to try to place the tax burden on those who are causing the expense.

Corporations are not democratic. The government in the US is the people, or haven't you heard!

  • @knowledgemonger your dumber than you look you actually think the government we have today represents the people you are a fool. We as tax payers are already paying for people without health insurance Why do we want government to meddle in the private sector even more than they do now. More government is never the right thing to do. You are so foolish you probably think you are still free.

  • @tommysixgunner The insurance reforms make it so that many people who could not get health insurance now have it. It will save money in the long run. You don't have to take my word on it, the CBO says so and they are nonpartisan.

  • wow: "let's care for people even after they are born" AMAZING. Right to lifers should think about that one.

  • Health care crisis! What Crisis? Insurance companies dump your ass when you get old or sick. You're forced to piss away your life savings when a family member develops a cancer tumor. And those idiots calling themselves the American people are marching in the streets doing the work of killing reform on the basis that it's socialism. Thanks a bunch you dumb pricks.

  • @tga2848 They have a different system of ethics rather than greatest good for greatest number they believe in values no matter what the consequences. Like small government, large military and getting poor women to take care of their babies. They don't care about results that's why their consistent and get "value voters".

  • What a ridculous premise. More people then that die every year who HAVE health insurance! In this country you don't die because you don't have health insurance. You can get care even if you don't have insurance. This dunce, Grayson, gives you no analysis of the data, just shock value to make an argument that is way off base.

  • People die in cars every day. If you wear your seat belt you are less likely to die. If you have health insurance, you are less likely to die of a treatable disease. About 122 extra people die every day because of the lack of health insurance. Others die for other reasons but that is no reason not to address the 122.

  • More than 122 die each day in hospitals due to medical mistakes and most of them are insured. Why don't Grayson apologize to them? Over 1/2 or those uninsured make more than 50k/yr. So lets penalize those who have insurance to help those who choose not to have it. Right?

  • Grayson apologizes for the lack of action on one subject. Others dies from car crashes. One death does not make another unimportant so he is quite right to concentrate on the part that perhaps he can do something about and the lives he can perhaps save. I have taken steps to prevent people from being electrocuted. This was worth while even though it did nothing to prevent car crashes,

  • It's just a matter of priorities and I think the American public has told Grayson and this Congress what their priority is. JOBS! Not universal healthcare.

  • I disagree. Brown ran as a change candidate and used the word "independent" a lot. The publics wants a change away from the constant triumph of politics over results. This is the real message. Brown had better not get too comfortable because in 6 years, he will be running as the insider and someone new will be running from the outside.

  • @bklynblueyes There is already a huge stimulus and record deficits. Unless democrats want useless tax cuts for wealthy people who will just save it there not much they can do

  • Unfortunately the previous decade saw completely irresponsible deficits. Effectively, they burned the kindling. The government has now done about all it can. It stopped the fall. If they hadn't acted we would have something like 25% unemployment now and for years to come.

Now it is up to us to dig our way out of the hole and stop digging it deeper. Getting the health insurance costs under control will be part of it but only part. We need to get people creating things of real value.

  • @bklynblueyes no, he doesn't offer analysis, but he tells you exactly where to read up on Harvard's analysis of this data... Grayson's a hero.

  • I'm glad he's somebodys hero. More than 3/4 of those 52M are uninsured because they chose to be. More than 1/2 make more than 50k a year. Why don't you look at the data.

  • ok, I'll comment on your data right here. Um... that's still leaves, according to your #'s, 13.5 MILLION people who are uninsured and wish they were, but are having a rough time. It's especially hard to get a job if you're SICK. We are talking about a part of a downward spiral of sickness and unemployment that hovers just above the poverty line.

  • @elijahquest they can always lose everything and go on welfare, then the will get care. Of course its tough to get off welfare too.

  • Plus, making universal healthcare would pool resources from all of those $50,000+ folks. I'm just above, if not below, the poverty line myself- I make $12,000 a year- and I wouldn't mind a being taxed a little more if it meant saving ONE person's life... nevermind over a dozen MILLION.

  • and one more thing, even if you are the most selfish son of a @#$%^ in the country, you should consider how you might benefit from living in a generally healthier society. That report doesn't mention how many healthy, well-off, well-insured folks die or are injured as a result of others who are ill. Have you read the reports about over-worked commercial airline pilots showing up to work sick and with little rest?!?! Like it or not, we are all connected.

  • We also pay a cost of having people get very sick before seeking help and people not being as productive as they could etc. The insurance companies take25% right off the top of the health care dollars. This is money that is sucked out of the economy needlessly. There are lots of selfish reasons for supporting reform. People who oppose it are work against their own best interests unless they are the insurance or drug companies.

  • This issue is long in coming. The Clinton's tried to start the conversation and the 'pubs snuffed it. From '94-'2007 they ignored there was a problem. Republicans never dealt with any social issues. We would still be in the 1800's if it were up to them. Tell your 90 year old granny to pull herself up, send back the S.S. check and get back to work! Last 4 years wages went up by 10%, healthcare costs rose 25%. Average Joes can't continue to pay this and be

    CONSUMERS!

  • Actually a large fraction of what is called "health care cost" has nothing to do with health care. The insurance companies take about 25% right off the top. This should more correctly be called a "health insurance cost" since it never makes it to the care providers.

  • And a new town-car as well?

  • why did 44,000 people not buy health insurance?

  • Given the choice between eating and buying health insurance, some people chose to eat. Some people can't get insurance at anything like a believable price because of the "pre-existing condition" problem. There are some who think that they will have the good luck not to need it but they are not the bulk of the ones who die for lack of health care.

The goal of the insurance company is to make a profit. As such, they only want to sell insurance to those who won't use it.

  • No, Insurers are indifferent to who does or doesn't buy insurance. They simply calculate probabilities of covered risks happening, then spread risks out over the pool.

So worker's comp insur costs more for construction workers than for office clerks.

If you're not a drunk driver, would you agree to pay drunk driver insurance rates?

But you apparently believe folks are entitled to insurance at less than their risks cost. You want a free lunch, actually a highly subsdized lunch.

  • Insures most certainly in the past have selected the people they would insure to try to avoid those who had bad health. It is far more profitable for them to not have any risk to spread. They have done the thing you claim they wouldn't care about.

  • No risk to spread? Gibberish. Every insured person is a risk.

Again, there are higher & lower risk pools. Nonsmoker life insur.Safe driver car insur. Insurers take whatever risks you hand them. Lumping high & low risks in the same pool is too unpredictable actuarially, so low & high risk pools are formed.

Many who should buy insurance do not.

I'm done here, you seem bent on arguing, without the benefit of knowing the facts. However, I do give you credit for a sympathetic heart.

  • You appear to be not reading and understanding what I have actually said. I said that the insurance companies don't *want* spread risk. This is about their motives and what drives their actions. They are all about getting the maximum profit. To do so they want the most money in for the least out. Hence they want to not insure those who most need the insurance.

  • @fongbong2

    thats the most illogical question

    I ever read on Youtube,

    and i read alot.

    those people either couldnt afford

    the high premiums,

or they got excluded from insurance companies,

    because they had "Pre-existing condition"

  • So ... then they should be given insurance for free? Or paid for by my taxes? I see.

You clearly do not understand the definition of insurance.

  • HAHA....that was awesome.

  • After they lose an argument, some children shout insults.

This is what has happened to Alan Grayson. The republicans have lost the argument with him about health care and are now reduced to yelling and temper tantrums.

  • Care to revise your remarks, now that we have the Massachusetts election results ?

Grayson saying GOP plan is to die quickly is a juvenile taunt, like saying 'I'm rubber you're glue.' Only much meaner.

  • Voter fraud??

Are we discussing Bu$h's 2 illegal wins?

  • We are actually not discussing either. The real subject here is health care. The claims about voter fraud were just thrown in as a distraction to try to get the topic away from the real subject of discussion.

A more correct title for this whole thing would be "Insurance companies a threat or menace". Those who are supporting the status quo are reduced to calling the other side names. They have lost the real debate.

  • does that mean you'll let me blow cum on your face if I pay your co-pay?

  • If I gotta pay your healthcare shouldn't I get something too?

  • Those that do not support a sweeping reform of healthcare, do not necessarily support the "status quo." many of us think that instead of blaming corporations for wanting to stay in business, the real investigations should be "Why can't these people afford healthcare, and what can we do to change it?"

The cost of medical attention is higher than ever before, partly due to the huge amount of insurance that the doctors are required to carry, by law.

  • Nobody has put forth any proposals regarding investigations into lowering the cost of the actual healthcare services, instead, all we are being offered is a plan to subsidize health insurance using tax-payer money.

  • There have investigations been done. Part of the cost is an inefficiency in the cost shifting that goes on at the providers. If we get everyone insured, the cost shift should be reduced or eliminated. This will lower cost a little.

The other changes can't be got though for political reasons. People have to stop saying "we have the best health care" and start admitting the truth that it is inefficient and produces poor results. Nobody likes to hear such stuff so it remains unsaid.

  • 25% of what we often call the cost of health care is not that. It is the overhead imposed by the insurance companies directly in the money flow. This is far higher than other countries over head rates.

The cost shifting and lack of standardization of forms etc adds a big cost to the operation of the actual providers. With standarized reporting, they wouldn't need to have armies of people just coding forms.

The current system is "fee for service" not "fee for keeping you healthy"

  • Voter fraud evokes child molestion from your mind? You people are more disgusting than I thought.

  • Impressive, just learned entailments.

How about this...Hang all republican child molesters and hang all those convicted of voter fraud, even those dating back to 1986. Get it? And let me ask you this, why is this group so concerned whether someone else votes or not? Hmmmmm

And this many haven't died in terrorist attacks because we "spent" this money. Now, PAY ATTENTION!
