i'm looking to buy speakers that can be loud enough to hear over the sound of a fairly noisy treadmill from 4 or 5 feet away. Do you think that as loud as i would be playing them the words would still be able to be distinguishable?
whats are they like full blast? and are they easy to blow ?

there is no volume knob for that, but inside windows, u can adjust the bass cuz the speakers have their own soundcard

for your environment the ls11´s do it, too.
