It's an hipnotic sedative, you know... It's not dangerous at all if you don't abuse it lol. I had a legal script from 1978 till Reagunzap killed them in 1984! They had a side effect called transient numbness of the extremities! What this felt like was you were floating in the air when you laid down you felt like your veins were plugged into an electrical socket plus you could stumble around all day and not feel it when you hit the ground. Had to be careful of respiratory depression which means you forget to breathe and die! FUN HUH?
Quaaludes were outlawed by the Feds in 1984, but if you're nostalgic for ludes, you can purchase a bottle. Just go to eBay and search Quaalude Bottle.

Almost all "quaaludes" on the "market" today are actually benzodiazepines masquerading as 'ludes. Methaqualone hasn't been sold in the US since the early '80s. It can be mfgd. by clandestine chemists, but most don't have the brains or precursor compounds to make this drug.
What was the big deal with this drug? I've taken Klonopin, Xanax, Ativan and Valium and as far as I know the only real differences between that and the old school barbs were the ratio of anxyolitic to sedative\hypnotic effects. I know 'ludes fell under a different category but how could this be so much different from any other "downer"?

For one this is NOT a barbituate. Most barbs have the word "barbitol" in their name: pheobarbital, pentobarbital, etc...
Ludes produce massive euphoria so I hear. Like ecstasy without the tripping.
