This is what they call a powerpack or "engine cartridge:". It is a fully integrated engine and transmission which can be switched in and out of the tank in less than an hour. I'm not sure if the powerpack was a German or an American invention; would anyone care to enlighten me?

Turbines are more reliable in general(at least when it comes to planes), output more power, and they will run on just about anything(includes nailremover). They are also more expensive, less durable, more susceptible to sand and dust, and the heat output is massive. This is a bad thing when there are helicopters or other things with IR looking for you.
