If you want to know why the US economy is in the tank... just look at its military spending, which is around 5-6 X more than any other country. OVER HALF of every dollar that the US government collects goes to current or past (debts, retirement funds, etc.) military expenditures.

@knight4justice As I stated before, the west overthrew the democratically elected prime minister Mohammad Mosaddegh of Iran in 1953 to put in the dictator the Shah of Iran because Mosaddegh nationalized the Iranian oil industry. After the Iranians removed the Shah the US President Carter would not allow the Shah to be extradited to Iran to stand trial for crimes the Shah had committed there and that is what led to the American hostages being taken the US embassy in Tehran in 1979.

The CIA plan was to use Shah constitutional power to remove Mossadegh. That plan was a total failure then the Iranian Army rose up in favor of Shah.

@DoubleAssClown its not unequal what we are doing. When we went into business with the Saudi's, we agreed to have our oil companies split the money 50/50. Same with Mexico we agreed to split the oil money 50/50 and with Shah, we agreed to split the oil 40 for America, 40 for Iran, and 20 for Britain.
Then with Iraq and Libya we didnt make any demands for oil and we are letting China rip us off because we are afraid of offending them. That is not imperialism.
