eromrab - I agree!! NC now has the highest state gas tax in the US at 38.9! The DOT always says, 'but we have the second most roadway mileage to manage, so we need the tax'. They are second to Texas in roadway mileage who only has a $0.20 tax rate. Looks like we need better management of the roadway funds. BTW - NC law does not allow the state gas tax to fall below $0.29. What a joke the NC DOT is.
