yeah it's called doumawashi you don't see them much outside of Kyokushin or rather any of the offshoot full contact karate styles. coming up completely off the ground allows you to get really good angles on people, it works great as a counter and the acceleration you generate by heaving your whole freakin body at somebody is significant, the downside to them is that it's tough to be accurate and there is literally no way to not end up sprawled on the ground.

I had a competition yesterday and after studying this video again I do agree you can't simply choose to be this dominating at a match. She is a good aggressive fighter, but I meant she is fighting very random and wildly. She doesn't abuse her opponent's attack but simply bashes the opponent's brains out. Simply said, she isn't using strategy but pure aggressive invasion.

i hear ya. but thats her style (or strategy) and from watching this vid, this way works for her. the vid proves that her style works to her advantage because not all of her contenders can hang with her aggression. Her style is definitely "kenka karate", which is the main philosophy of kyokushin. But most importantly, its exciting to watch fighters like her. But i hear ya. Osu!

just incase you didn't know, "kenka karate" literally translates to "street fight karate", which is the kyokushin way. you can practice strategy and techniques over and over again but if you can't use them in a fight, its pointless. i'm sure she is very skilled, hence she is a black belt and its not so easy to achieve that rank in this MA. personally i think aggression and the heart to fight takes the fighter to a whole new level. btw, what MA do you practice?

this is two months ago but, it's very easy to get a black belt nowadays. You have people practicing water down karate or jujutsu and getting a black belt when they're really a green belt.

i dont know were your from but its not that easy to get a black belt you still have to learn all katas and stay on each grade for 3 months it still takes around 2 years to get a black belt, and the karate is not water down you still learn the same strikes and kicks as always its the trainen that is waterd down by law

alot of karate places are really watered down. That's why Kyokushin is famous because it's a karate style that isn't watered down. Alot of people will laugh at you if you say you do karate nowadays.

Kyokushin Karate may or may not be easy to get rankings it, but the fact that she fights at a national level in a Knockdown Karate League is impressive enough. Fuck ranks, it's whether you can fight or not that counts. (Just a quick note: Jigoro Kano invented the colored belt system and based it off of the various water depths at a local public pool)
