  • best game series ever!

full of humor, feelings, adn its deep in story too.perfect...just perect.

finished the first part about 2 mins ago, heading to part 2 :P

  • hey can anyone find a drum tab for this cos i cant?

  • I played Mass Effect 2 first, which Xbox 360's demo influenced me to do. I might I must add, it made the best summer of my life. Then I picked up Mass Effect on the 28th July 2010 and only just completed it less than 10 minutes ago. Mass Effect is a good game don't get me wrong, but Mass Effect 2 just is a lot better.I didn't enjoy the gameplay in ME1, but the Storyline, Feeling and OST were amazing but the game was a tad short. E2 had all those again whilst improving Gameplay and length. ME3 <3

  • @MattyCody yea thats the thing if u dont play them in order they suck....i struggle to get through me 1 now cos ive played it sooooo much and cos me2 is just sooo much better :)

  • just finished mass effect 1, great song. reminds me of the echo song by paul gilbert

  • i like mass effect 1 better, there seems to be more mystery and stuff

  • @Mafia200100 I agree.

  • This song is just incredibel, ME 1 & ME 2 are the games I have spent most time on. So I hope the third will be just as good if not better

  • Every time a play this game through i get this sense of epicness when the credits are shown, witht this song ....

  • 1,111st like. I just freaking love this game to pieces. Even though its gameplay is horribly designed (in my opinion) the story, the characters, the feel of the galaxy...that's what makes me laugh, cry, cheer and reflect. And then, in ME2, they kept all of that AND fixed the gameplay.

  • @GlowingBlur Another one?

Seriously, I feel like the only person in the world who actually enjoyed the gameplay in the first one... Hell, if anything, I enjoyed it MORE than the second...

  • These games... Are... They're... They're so... They...

Oh, screw it. Words just don't do them justice.

  • I wish these guys were doing the third game's soundtrack :(

  • "I need you to recover, 'cause I can't make it on my own". This song is kind of prophetic as in ME2 Shepard dies and everyone needs her to recover and carry on the fight.

  • Watching this in 2011. God I want Mass Effect 3.

  • During the end credits I got up and made a military salute in front of the computer with tears in my eyes, like an idiot...never thought that a videogame could have an effect like this on me...really a mass effect

  • @sakura800 that is mass effect for you it has everything you need to keep you busy, the music, the story, the gameplay everything about mass effect is just awesome and now i can not wait for ME3 to come and finely kick some Reapers ass

  • Honestly the first 2 minutes are the best part of this song, then it gets a little stale.

  • This is legendary :D

  • <333

  • Finished this game for the first time the other day. Incredible

  • @SkulkerZX me2 is gonna be good to you then

  • They should have had a Renegade Ending song. It fits for the Paragon Shep. But not for Renegade Shep.

  • Fun fact: 17 reapers dislike this.

  • ...The lyrics to this song make total sense. It's your ME1 love interest, in the future, looking at all the shit going down in ME2 and ME3, wondering about Shepard and how the war with the Reapers will finally end....

  • @Numdenu Sorry to burst your bubble but this song wasnt made FOR mass effect it was simply made as stock music until Bioware used it in ME1 credits so in fact it has NOTHING to do with any of the Mass effect titles. But even so i understand what you mean.

  • @Ultradudeo1 Maybe that's why Bioware picked it? *shrug* Just wild guessing here.

  • @Ultradudeo1 Is it possible it was reworded? All of mass effect 1's lyrics come from the same person, including this. If may have been made or at least redone for mass effect.

  • @babbies321 Nope i cant remember who does the other music but Faunts (Who made this song) have created many songs if you google M4, Part 1 thats another stock song

  • @Ultradudeo1 I see. The original song is by Faunts, but Jack Wall and Sam Hulick redid it for Mass effect, as they did all the other songs.

  • @babbies321 Nope this is the version by Faunts and this was the version used in mass effect this is stock music teh versions Jack wall and Sam Hulick did had lyrics but werent seen in game this song was totally un edited

  • That's probably why they chose it. That's also why i chose Ashley. She leaves you, which suggests she could 'recover' and play a vital part in stopping the reapers. I would have chosen Ashley then let her die, but the game probably wouldn't recognize the love interest, and the only bit that fits that is the 'need you to recover' bit, and I don't think that bioware is in to literal reincarnation.

  • I know some people don't like this song because they don't think it fits with the mood of the game. Well I like it- it's so very emotional haha. I just remember the end of the game (spoilers?), kicking out the glass in the elevator and walking up it sideways. WOW. Then finally finishing this game, having played all night- the sun rising and the birds chirping, I stared at the credits, speechless, listening to this song. I hope there will be another one like it as the end of ME3.

  • I think this would have fit ME better if it was just instrumental, but it's alright, Mass Effect's the shit.

  • @xionsith123 THAT WOULD BE AWSOME!!!!=D

  • MASS EFFECT 3 ENDING SONG!

  • 13 people got swept by a great biotic wind.

  • @Bkrp people probably didnt catch that reference but i remember it

  • @IF1r3starterI Hey asshole. I was just clearing out my inbox and felt the need to remind you how wrong you were. The Escapist hit the nail on the head didn't it, prick?

  • I like Mass Effect because it fleshes out the entire universe. And as a story, it tends to beat most any other sci-fi genre movies/books/shows altogether. Bioware treats the universe of Mass Effect as if it were real, going into detail on every aspect of it, and making it all make total sense. It's the minutia that make the story great. And the undefinable foes that make you care about the fate of the galaxy. The Reapers are threatening because we know nothing about them.

  • @XxTaiMTxX agreed, I can't wait to learn the origin of the reapers (hopefully ME3 delves deep into this)

  • @fezan84

At first I assumed they were just the first organic race, and they eventually turned themselves into machines to gain a form of immortality, but after talking to Mordin about technological advances, I'm guessing there was a more advanced race before them, and that race gave them their advanced technology out of pity. Then the Reapers used it to kill the other race, and every once in a while they cultivate the newest organic race to become a reaper. Whichever race they deem strongest.

  • @meric2 I'm currently thinking the first part of what you said is the case...an advanced race (one of the very first intelligent civiliations in the milky way) that ascended into a machine culture but retained the need for biological material (hence the harvesting). I guess we will see in ME3...can't wait :D

We should be honored they chose humans to harvest this time around haha :D

  • @XxTaiMTxX ...star wars ftw :)

  • great job mate you now what is good song agean very good

  • The only way the soundtrack for the Mass Effect series could be better is if they got Clint Mansell for ME3.

    Oh wait.

  • How are we defining "best sci-fi story." If it's the most moving, or the best in practice, then doesn't that make it the best, unique or not?

  • Ah Reapers.. 13 people have dismissed that claim.

  • I love Mass Effect. No words can describe it.

I hope that in the final chapter they'll put more emotional- personal scenes about Shepard like a human with faults and qualities, like they did in Dragon Age 2. I think that thats what this game needs more. But i agree: Mass Effect is my favorite Sci-Fi stories and i will always think that it is simply AWESOME.

  • lol this is my teachers band

  • My god this song honestly was so sensational for the ending i so hoping they would put it in the credits of number 2 :P

  • They NEED to close ME3 with "Don't fear the Reaper" by the Blue Oyster Cult ;)

  • @mikiroony That actually sounds like a terrible idea :/

  • @ViciousMihael But a fitting one ;)

  • 13 people need to stop playing CoD

  • 13 people accidentally killed Wrex and are pissed

  • 13 people were under Harbinger's direct control.

  • Is it just me or does the lead singer of this band sound almost exactly like Lindsie Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac?

  • Is it just me or does the lead singer of this band sound almost exactly like Lindsie Bukingham from Fleetwood Mac?

  • Mass effect 2: best game ever in almost all respects. One shortcoming: That interrogation scene with Thane. I WANT PARAGON!

  • @MyGamerforlife But isn't funny with renegade. I usually play paragon, but even then I use the renegade options in that scene.

  • It's so beautiful.

  • *raped the replay button*

  • This song suits Mass Effect 2 so much better....

  • @Edgemaster9790 I agree.

  • the instrumental part of this song is epic, however the singing is poor... is there a version of this song without the singing?

  • @DemMedHornene Doubtful. I actually think he sings well, though I see your point.

  • Best song to end a game EVER

  • Bioware! Make a movie of this!

  • For Mass Effect fans I propose a challenge. Make a new character it can be any kind except for soldier. Play it on insanity with no upgrading any stats. Have fun :)

  • @SkelaSnave

Jesus... Not even into charm or intimidate?

  • @mm8modman8 Yes no stats you will have to find better weapons and armor. It's actually pretty challenging.

  • this su... ASSUMING CONTROL

  • I LOVE Mass Effect T_T Best freaking games ever!!! Can't wait for 3!!

This song is amazing! And perfect for Mass Effect <3 <3

  • oh my god this song is so good. lyrics are just perfect.

  • Best credits song ever!

  • This song is so perfect for Mass Effect. It would have been kick ass to hear it again at the end of Mass Effect 2! Love it!!!

  • This music is good for some intro video! ;)

  • 2 was definitely better, character development was much more indepth

  • Hooo nice!

  • mass effect is an excelent game and this song reflects it very well

  • Holy shit. I just joined this bandwagon because it's absolutely a fantastic game. I have never been so impressed! Time to see if the second lives up to the first. And... the song is sex. I love it. I will sex my boyfriend to it. Hard.

  • @apitimimorexx The second does live up to it, hell if you ask me, the seconds better

  • @apitimimorexx Hopefully you've played the master that is mass effect 2 by now :D

    get ready for part 3!

  • @apitimimorexx gay

  • @Cortanaisatranny You don't know who that person is, idiot.

  • @apitimimorexx The second one for me was a let down. They removed most of what mass effect was about. But hope you enjoy! :)

  • @Nobunaga980 I certainly respect your opinion on it, not all games (let alone their sequels) appeal to everyone. I enjoyed both equally, there was some unfortunate things I wish they included in two - but! It was entertaining nonetheless. :) I cannot wait for three, either. What can I say? I'm a fan girl.

  • @apitimimorexx THose "useless bullets" I actually used. Like ice when I was a specific class. Like being a soldier, they can only use those bullets that set enemies a flame. (which are cool...for only segments of the game.) I liked that I had a variety. And the simple fact that everyone restores health, and not only the solder, makes the soldier pretty useless. I like the stuff WAY better in the first. Didn't enjoy the second game so much. Hated that they removed things I actually used.

  • @apitimimorexx And I thought adding different stuff to your weapons and armor made it more in depth. They removed most of it and made it into some worse combat Gears Of War-ish game with Mass Effect Universe. I just hope they bring back the customization back from the first, or revamp the second one. Cause I don't like it, nor the way you upgrade your armor, searching for dumb Element Zero. It was rubbish to say the least. Yes I will admit it was enjoyable, it is just like the first better.

  • @Nobunaga980 oh yeah i just LOVED the inventory system as well as the loot and buy/sell as well...lets not forget the mako...:(

  • @apitimimorexx I am definitely getting the third. I am a fan boy after all. lol :-)

  • @apitimimorexx

I loved Mass Effect one and 2 even more.

  • @MrStephen182 I enjoy both for what they offer, as well. However - I was disappointed there was no great ending like from ME1. It was, for lack of a better word, epic.

  • @apitimimorexx For eight months, this comment has won many hearts and souls to everyone who clicks on this video. You don't deserve a medal, the medal deserves you!

  • @apitimimorexx If it does that to you, then I'm gonna play it next time my girlfriend walks into the room

  • Just beat this game again, and it's playing on my laptop and television. Lol

  • epic song to top off an epic game.

  • @theruiner89 I couldn't agree more.

  • This song is just orgasmic.

  • great song, great game.

  • 13 people were indoctrinated by Sovereign.

  • @Toleer * YOU ARE NOT SAREN. *

  • @Toleer Or harbinger. ASSUMING CONTROL. Never mind.

  • @Toleer Best ever.

  • The best RPG ever!

  • Beat becomes awesome at 0:16.

  • MASS EFFECT IS THE BEST,i only have one thing to say,"im commander shepard and this is the best song on the me universe".

  • @igorpro21 I love this so... ASSUMING CONTROL I love the entire ME universe everit... RELEASING CONTROL I wanna play duke nukem =P

  • mass effect 3 2011!!!

  • Such a good song.

  • I downloaded this music, i hear every time !!!

  • Are you people kidding ff doesnt even diserve to be called an rpg you have to take turns attacking thats more like freaking pokemon and if you call pokemon an rpg your doing drugs

  • @CoIoneISeth wait... so your saying DnD isn't a RPG because it has turned based attacks? It's only recently that RPGs have incorporated action and shooter gameplay.

  • @CoIoneISeth Dude.. Pokemon is the perfect example of an RPG. A roll playing game usually consists of a story about a protagonist on a quest or journey with companions. And the core gameplay involves upgrading and improving you inventory and skills.. Final Fantasy, Pokemon and Mass Effect are all purely RPGs.. all fantastic ones may i add. Mass Effect may just be the best ever made imo.

  • Comment removed

  • I love this ending song better then the ME2 one. This one just seemed to tie up the whole game.

  • I'm Commander Shepard and this my favorite game on Earth

    (I cannot stress this enough!)

  • Mass Effect>Star Wars

  • @The123Production Mass Effect > Almost every other movie or game.

  • Best game series ever, and great music to go along with it!

  • Every second of both of the games were simply orgasmic...I can't wait for 3

  • This is such an amazing song for an amazing game. Every time I beat the game I listen to the rocking credits!

  • Ah.....Ashley Williams. If she was even remotely real I'd marry her right now. Chicks with guns turn me on!!!!

  • @MyDeadpoet Ew. Marry that xenophobic biatch that totally turns her back on you because unlike real friends (Garrus, Tali, Wrex and Joker) she doesn't trust you.

  • WHERE'S MY COMMENT? I WANT IT BACK! ...

Here it is: Thumbs up if you think Mass Effect is the best Sci-Fi story

  • @r0dybuen0 I love Mass Effect but it's story is just the 2nd :P

1st is Hyperion of course :D

If you mean best scify story in games.. then yes it sure is :)

  • @r0dybuen0 hummm battlestar galactica vs mass effect... i'm not sure who would win mate, it would depend on personal tastes, but one thing is for sure, mass effect is the BEST sci-fi game ever made, without any doubt! :)

  • @r0dybuen0

    story, no.

    best sci-fi game: definitely

  • @r0dybuen0 i prefer star wars

  • @r0dybuen0 hmmmmm best videogame sci fi so far, but im going to have to say star trek.

  • @r0dybuen0 hey you gonna get mass effect 3, i know i am.

  • @thespartanfromhell of course pal, we're gonna save Earth

  • @r0dybuen0 You can't save Earth. Earth is lost. Read the May Issue of GameInformer, has twelve juicy pages of pictures and text about ME3. And yea, it says something about Earth is obviously lost, so you have to give it up and look elsewhere.

  • @r0dybuen0 fuck yea we are, but it would be uber gay if your only on earth but im sure bioware wont dissapoint.

  • @r0dybuen0 my friend i must disagree with you, Mass Effect is the best story period, genre classification is no place in this judgement :)

  • @Obito1600 I wouldn't say it's the best Sci-Fi story. Now, maybe the most moving and emotional story, sure. But Doctor Who, and the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, both the first and second, exceed that off both.

  • @4sostrander If Mass Effect is both the most moving and emotional, in what regard is Doctor Who, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic better in?

  • @Broodlord777 Doctor Who is very intense and fast moving. It's great. And humorous. And KotOR is moving, but not very emotional. I like it more since it was able to make a character, a nothing, VERY iconic. Mass Effect did that better, though.

  • @r0dybuen0

Definately not the best Sci-fi story. There are several that outbeat it.

  • 12 geth here

  • the whole soundtrack, plus the game with the end credits song made it feel like a great story driven movie was just finished.

  • No gentlemen I do believe Tali is mine. So yeah you guys will have to settle with Liara.

  • @SkelaSnave lol, sorry mate, I had dibbs first xD

  • @SPARTANMST I believe you are wrong sir, she is mine.

  • @SkelaSnave hehe

  • this song is awesome

  • Lolwut? Who is a fan of RPGs and *hasn't* heard of NWN...? Bioware makes great RPGs, end of story. I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favorite game on the Citadel.

  • 12 hipsters dislike this because they liked the band WAY before this song was featured on Mass Effect.

  • i have seen the credits 5 times i think and i cant get enough of this song and im endless thankful for the great work of bioware thank you

  • dude... Mass Effect rocks

  • this great track

  • The sheer awesomeness of this song and mass effect made me sit through the credits, reading everyone's name and thanking them for making this masterpiece of video gaming.

  • Mass Effect 3 does not needs multiplayer, only a waste of space in the DVD(s). Though, some spin off like an RTS or a simple 3rd person shooter (no RPG) may come with a nice multiplayer. This song should come on ME3, it doesnt mater if is the orchesta which play this, it SHOULD come. And no, Mass Effect Movie is not necessary, because they will fuck off what made ME saga so EPIC, how personal it is.

  • @GallusYo I agree. It really bothers me when people say that this should be a movie. Each Mass Effect game is a 30 hour experience that revolves around the decisions of the player. I can't imagine how that could become a 1.5 hour film. Anyway, video games are better than movies, so it would feel like a demotion for the series.

  • @MrBenSampson any1 watched gothic the movie? guys used game sequences put them together and made a fantastic piece of art, ofc it cant compare to a real movie but mass effect could, bout 6 hours to cover all, althou that could only be a fan project.

  • MrBenSampson

An adaption to movie in 99.9% of cases isn't done well & if it is done well it doesn't sit right with the fans of the game. That being said though Mass Effect has arguably one of the best potential sci-fi/fantasy stories since Star Wars. It would be folly not to try to make some form of movie or loose adaption of its story

  • @TheTvrulesthenation If there is a movie made, I'd like for it to have nothing to do with the story of Commander Shepard. They should make a film about the history of the ME universe, such as the first contact war, and the Rachni war.

  • MrBenSampson

Bioware have stated that ME3 is just the end of Shepards storyline, Due to the game being so popular & its ability to create other titles (like star wars) i'd say it is VERY likely that the next handful of games in the ME universe will be ''prequels'' such as the rachni war & first contact war. So there is the problem then of who makes the first move? a film-producer who creates how the wars went, or bioware who create the games & make it ''canon''?

  • Hi, I'm commander shepherd and this is my favorite song on the citadel.

  • What other game let's you decide so much of the story, yet no matter what the outcome, you character still comes out a badass haha.

  • Bleh, sure ME's cool for 60bucks, it would be awesome if not by terminator, aliens, starship troopers, SW, ST, and all other real sci-fi stories I dont know for sure that make this collage. Take that and grow up children haha!

  • Mass Effect.

This game is totally underrated and is shadowed by overrated games like MW2.

Mass Effect=Best story, Best Characters, Best Plot, Best Music, Best Game...EVER

    END OF STORY!

  • i love this song, the bass is perfect and it's so hopefull, so awakening - i feel the flower blossom again

  • This song is really close to competing with Zelda music! Zelda takes the cake with best music in a video game series.

  • best ending music ever

  • I wish i could find this song WITHOUT the depressing singing. A great song ruined by its vocalist. WTB INSTRUMENTAL.

  • @darkhummy FUCK U

  • @geemet You can fuck me if you find me an instrumental version of this amazing song and i will admit defeat in every possible capacity to your whim. Damit i hate listening to this, gives me a burning desire to play ME.

  • @darkhummy

    yo ur fucking gay

  • THE MOST AMAZING ENDING EVAR..no really never have i been so satisfied at the end of a game...(maybe since legend of dragoon) MASS EFFECT FTFW
