I have arachnophobia ( fear of spiders ) but today I faced my fear went to a pet shop and held a full grown chili rose they are beautiful and now I'm getting one for Christmas.
Its A Male I Can Tell Males Have A Larger Stomach Females Smaller Hey Did You Say Your Tarantula Was 15 Lbs At 0:14 You Sade The Spider Was 15 Lbs ihhihihi
Some people find what I say is weird, and I would really appreciate your view on it...
I am desperate too get a pet Chilean Rose tarantula soon and I am getting one but I am quite scared of NORMAL spiders...spiders like raft spiders and wolf spiders, you know, the big ones? I mean, I think tarantulas are incredibly cute and all but spiders...their legs are so skinny and I almost start crying if I see one in the room! What do you think about this? Please someone reply. Thanks.
Hi mate nice vid :) I got my first rose hair yesterday I ain't pulled her out the tank yet cos I am abit scared lol. Any good ways on how to get them out of the tank so it dont make them angry lol. She handles fine the dude in the shop picked her up and she looked pretty cosy on his arm and hand but I'm to scared to pick her up lol. Any advice ?
I once got a chilean rosehair tarantula to get over my fear of spiders. When I got her (named her Tatika) she was in a rather small cage and the first time I held her she pooped on me and it freaked me out and I dropped her. She was okay with it, actually, didn't get jumpy (she was always very calm). I got more curious and flipped her over by slipping a pencil under 4 legs on one side to see her fangs... Holy crap were they big - like black cat's claws!
i love chilean rose tarantulas. they are so cute. i held one in a pet store. they were pretty moody spiders lol but if you pick them up the right way they wont bite ya
you said she bit you once, HOW BAD DID IT HURT??? did you have to go to the hospital?? did you just wash it off and forgot about it?? did you use any special medication??? I NEED TO KNOW CUZ IM BUYING A ROSE HAIR ALSO BUT I WANNA KNOW HOW BAD IT HURTS WHEN THEY BITE@!@
As i stated in my first comment, my Rose can be a bit angry at times. She or any other of my tarantulas have not bit me but i hear it is compared to a bee sting. They are not usually medically serious. If you have an elergic reaction it will be worse. Will this be your first t? If so then their are a lot of good sites you can go on, i use the british tarantula society forum. They are all very helpfull and willing to answer any questions.
no they warn you before they byte. they will get on there back legs and lift they're front legs and show there fangs or Flick that's when they kick up hairs from the abdomen with there back legs.
i got a chilie, my first t and when i went to pick her up she threw a right strop, made me a bit nervous and i not tried since, i got a new one now a juvenile aphonopelma that makes fluffy look evan more big and threataning, but time to face her soon, the substrate could do with changing, she was really fast and thier was no warning, i think she was in pre molt so maby that why she was a bit pissed wi me fartin about in her house??
Well bugger me! i do apologize, sir. No one told me YouTube was an exam. I shall put an end to the abbreviated comments and treat each as an English essay.
hello Not realy I have kept both males and females and non of the two where different apart from the female when you breed them they can be a bit aggresive it doesnt hurt bad and its not nice lol
@icemastermn123 i own a male chillean rose hair, and hes such a big baby around people, its comical, its almost like owning a dog or a cat, he will sit in my hand for ages and will walk on my arms and hands without showing any agression, he has even been used at childrens partys for handleing before i bought him, i trust him alot, you just have to look for the signs, i believe personally that females are more aggressive and will always kill a prey nearby, they have to be to protect there eggs.:)
@mscrumpster1 WRONG! Tarantula can bite, not all can bite humans because there fangs are not long enough. Poisonous Tarantula are not very common in england, only when moron bring them here or they come on cargo, thats why our spiders are getting bigger now, they used to be tiny, but iv seen some half the size of my hand, and thats a normal house spider, they are breeding with forun insects.
Nice spider :) I just got my first tarantula today, a pretty little chilean rose. She's settling into her terrarium nicely. Not going to touch her yet of course, but do you have any advise on handling spiders that have never been handled before? - The shop have never handled her so I don't know how she's going to react if I try.
Hello mate I dont tell any one to hold a tarantula I do but I dont tell people to if you want to hold her thats up to you the way to do it is put you hand in front of her and slowy push her over you hand I would give her a week to settle down first I have been fanged by a chilli before its not very painful but you do feel it I hope this helps you for any more information just ask and thanks for the sub..
Thanks for your reply! I let her settle in for a while and now she's perfectly ok with me handling her. I'm gentle of course. Not going to attempt the pinch pick up, but she doesn't seem to mind me scooping her up and allowing her to walk on me:) - I guess confidence with them comes with practice.
hello mate. i am soon to own one. i need some care advice . would be appreciated thanks luke. ill subscribe to u end it in a privaste message the one i am getting is one male and one female as ive been asked to be a breader so some advice would be nice. message me in private mail. thanks again lol luke :)
Your Tarantula is most likely a girl. I have never seen a rose hair that large and the female spiders are larger than the males. This could also be why she is not aggressive. Males will be more prone to aggressiveness because in most animal species the males are very territorial.
sorry it took so long Tarauntula's can fast for up to 6 months, so there is honastly nothing to worry about.
just make sure that u take out anything it hasn't eaten in a few days out, as if it is pre molt u dont want anything in there that may harm it. this may be the reason that ur T is not eating. if it pre 1 year old it will molt 4-5 times after that amybe 1-2 times a year :) hope this helps
hi i just bought a chilean rose today, her name is Bubi, i'm wondering when can i handle her ?? i touched her back leg today and she moved very quickly like she was scared. so now im not sure when should i attempted to handle her. x
also, to give advice about the temperature of the tank for a chilean rose can be 21C+, if it goes below they wont eat properly, just make sure the humidity is ok. the chilean rose can be given the most barren of all tanks and itll seem to do just fine. so if it is sitting still then it is happy, if its pacing around alot it will have something to do with the layout/temp/humidity of the tank, change things around.
they dont usually bite unpredictably, they always give you warning signs (e.g. rearing up and striking with their front legs). all tarantulas do not like being handled so they can bite even if theyre docile.
plus, didnt the guy at the shop tell you what gender it is? if not, wait till it moults and you can find out by looking at its skin.
ok cool. the reason being is that if its over 30c they can get stressed which is one of the main reasons why some Ts bite (or if the owner provokes them or it is an aggressive one).
I was always curious about that - I mean, do they always rear up when they're about to attack or can they just be crawling on you and decide to bite you when you don't even expect it?
hiya then do most times give you a wanring like when they rear up but I have had one that for no resone bite my mate it was crawling on his hand and bite him
just bought one 2 days ago but she hasnt moved from last night was wantin to know if thats normal if ya touch her she moves her legs abit but isnt crawlin about anymore
hi again you should reli have a heat pad as they should be kept at 25 - 28 c but if your house is hot enuff then u should be fine i keep loads of reptiles and only use heat pads in the winter for my spiders as my room is about 30 c but i wudnt worry about her not moving mine stays still for days if she moves when u touch her she is fine i do hope i have been helpfull
hey matey i no that lol i have had loads of people emailing me saying that i dont no shit about ts and i shouldnt be aloud to keep them because i handle them i mean like sum 1 said i dont no how to care for them and this video has nuffin about the care on them (no where in the video or the video title does it say this is a care video) lol thank you for the comment :-)
hi thanks for the advise i never asked for it so please dont give me any more you can hold them you are just advised not to sorry that i am being shity 2 u but my dad has kept them for 30 years and they all lived a fine and great life please dont leave any more comments unless they are useful to me as it just takes my time and time costs me A LOT
Hi 8270361507 it wasnt a full on fang he got away but she still got him it wasnt that bad he was in a lot of pain but if you are going to piss off a spider then you will get a good fanging
Thanks. I'm thinking of getting a Chilean Rose or a Mexican Red Knee in the near future. These are the only kinds of spiders I'm comfortable with. Is there any way you can tell if a spider is pissed off or not in a mood to be handled? I have fears of getting bitten.
Hi again well a Tarantula give you a few warnings if he or she is pissed off they will raise the hump (abdomen)they will not fang or bite with out a warning they will also flik hairs and rare up at you i hope that is helpful. we have a few spiders here now just not made a video yet we have 2 chilli roses sam pink bird eater and a flame knee.
