It's very refreshing to find an artist who knows when and when not to apply effects to vocals in their songs. This one for example, it's just her and a piano for the most part, and that's the way it should be to me. This song's clearly very emotional, and it's hard to get that across right when the vocals are too layered or reverbed to shit.

Other songs she kind of goes that route, and it's very effective. Excellent work.

I love this song. At first I was convinced that it was about an unreturned love. But as I was listening to it once again I sudenly realized that it was actually about her childhood and feeling bad as she had to grow up without her father.

Sigh. I understand her. I actually never met my mother....

But still some of the lyrics can be associated with bad romance.

This is such a haunting song.. <3 I love her voice. I was crying thinking about a bad love situation I was in a month ago... and at first I thought this song was about romance, and then I found out it was about her dad who basically walked out on her (she only met him twice.) And in a strange way... it makes me feel better about my life.. But she's right in this song. No matter WHO it is we shouldn't let that person define who we are... Amazing song.
