We taught our kids to read using BrillKids Little Reader. It's roughly the same price as the Your Baby Can Read deluxe kit but you get a lot more bang for your buck because it can teach foreign language, is customizable with you kids pictures, etc. I used BKAFF40902 to save a little more $. They offer a 2 week trial period but unlike YBCR, they don't require a credit card upfront which I really like. If you spend 5 minutes on the BrillKids forums you'll find hundreds of babies reading.
I am getting this program for my grandchild, she is 4months old and can already touch my eye, nose or mouth when I ask her to do so. I truely believe this program can and will work. I am excited to get it and start her on it.
We use a different program for early reading, but idea of showing babies words is the same. Both of my kids were "memorizing"by 13 months shortly after I began showing them words and decoding new words phonetically about 6 months later. There are loads of other videos linked from the website posted on my youtube channel, many of those babies are very young.
Kudos to this Momma for taking the time to educate her baby! There is no better investment of time and money than in our children!
shes not REALLY though is she??? If you watch you can see her eyes constantly looking for something else alot more interesting so mommy re-shuffles her to make sure she's paying attention. Im not in any way saying this is cruel, and obviously its purely the mothers choice on how she raises her child - but she has wasted a colossal amount of money on this rubbish program. It has been proven that it doesnt work for babies younger than 18m, and promotes the "couch potatoe" baby
At 3 months old, it's hard to tell if the baby is really getting any of it or not. I'm going to be starting my baby on this next month because she turns 3 months on March 11th. I'm hoping by starting her on it early that she develops her language skills faster. Anyways, that was just my question!
Your baby is so so so adorable! I just recently got this program about 2 weeks ago. I have a 2 year old and a 1 year old. My 2 year old has already learned most of the words on the first dvd. My 1 year old is doing very well also. I think it's a great program! My olny regret is not getting it sooner.
