I'm afraid that's just the name of the game for Western politicians. However, you should note that a while back, Ignatieff said that Israel had committed war crimes against the Palestinians. He was sharply rebuked and apparently learned his lesson about speaking his mind. So, I think that your assumption of his being a die-hard Zionist is a little unfounded, or at best unproven. Time will tell, but I have faith that when the time comes he'll do what's right.
