you only take away what you put into you culinary school. school is not a waste of money, and those who say it is either went to a shit school or you never belonged in the kitchen in the first place.
as in regards to the clip, i thought that this "Chef Elliot" took the whole thing a bit far and at no point was funny .
it was for me you dopy spent 5000 dollars and couldnt find a job because i was learning disabled and most restaurants closed down and my former boss died
was 42
so i been using him as a job reference because i cant find anyone anymore so beat that!!!!!!!!!!!
im planning to enroll in a culinary school, but after i read your comments, feels like all the positivity just escaped. hope youre only referring to culinary schools in the US. also from the Philippines.
Alex deserves it, I worked with the guy and trust me. Some of the shit he did was like "what the fuck"- but he's getting better. Plus anybody who knows Elliott knows that this is how we joke around and its not to make Alex feel bad, its just to make work a little more fun, i mean if you look at what happened to me alex threw flour in my eye. that was some fucked up shit. Love you guys,
@moneybelt22 see if u did ur research youd know there are plenty of 4 year culinary degree programs secondly if all you care about is money then your in the wrong industry cooking is a craft and passion is necessary you should have realized you only wanted to be a rich yuppie fuck in the beginning and you would have never wasted ur money ps learn how to type i highly doubt youll be able to make money if ur illiterate
i went to culinary school in ct in 1991 took me 2 years to find a job, finally i worked at mcdonalds i spent 5000 dollars and now i work at ups package handler, part time with full time benefits screw you culinary school get a better job with health insurance and better advancements
yes and no my friend. depens which school you go to. as the guy said below me europe culinary schools are amazing and so is goerge brown in toronto one of the best n north america. it also depends were your apprenticeship is but yeah in away your right. peace.
The CCA used to be a prestigious academy, but now it's just a business driven entity with little regard for what they are truly offering there students. I went to Le Cordon Bleu and got the same deal Alex did, my advice is go to restaurant to learn your skills, swallow your pride and at an work entry level position, practice at home, b.s. your way into a position, ect...The schools in Europe are the only real deal.
I have been thinking about going to school for culinary art, after reading the comments I think I'll pursue a career in health care
