I have been thinking about going to school for culinary art, after reading the comments I think I'll pursue a career in health care

you only take away what you put into you culinary school. school is not a waste of money, and those who say it is either went to a shit school or you never belonged in the kitchen in the first place.

Alex deserves it, I worked with the guy and trust me. Some of the shit he did was like "what the fuck"- but he's getting better. i went to culinary school in ct in 1991 took me 2 years to find a job, finally i worked at mcdonalds i spent 5000 dollars and now i work at ups package handler, part time with full time benefits screw you culinary school get a better job with health insurance and better advancements

The CCA used to be a prestigious academy, but now it's just a business driven entity with little regard for what they are truly offering there students. I went to Le Cordon Bleu and got the same deal Alex did, my advice is go to restaurant to learn your skills, swallow your pride and at an work entry level position, practice at home, b.s. your way into a position, ect...The schools in Europe are the only real deal.
