  • Is it me or does this chap sound like John McCririck??!!

  • Beauiful rig, it looks like a real communication radio, not like todays radios that looks like expensive hi-fi stereos.

  • Absolutely beautiful rig. I have to find one of these to put next to my TS-660 quad bander. Keep the qsos rolling and thankyou for posting. Tom Kc9qvv

  • @BlueTomTom62 You are welcome Tom, the TS-700 looks so much better than is does on video, I would never sell this rig. Thank you for taking the time to comment.

  • When I was at school, I used to dream about owning that rig one day! It's a beauty. Nice to see a classic trx looking and sounding so good.

  • Hi ; I also have one of those but mine is the TS-700SP and I have no idea what the SP stands for . Last time I used it , it worked ok. The mic needs work . Thats another story. Take care and God Bless.

  • Have you got blown lamps on your 'Band' and 'VFO' knobs? Anyway, top radio and I'm thrilled to bits with my one as well, apart from a couple of blown lamps....... Cheers!

  • I bought one of these a few days ago on a pure whim. It had no power leads or microphone, but I managed to cobble together a lead using spade connectors from a 13.8v supply. It sounds great on receive, but until I get of a spare mic and rewire it, I will not be able to transmit. Hopefully there will be no problems. All I have to do is replace a couple of lamps. (main dial and VFO)

  • nice radio very nice I really like the old style 2 meter amateur radio sets there extreamly hard to get hold of these days and people charge a fortune for them as well I too like the 2 meters SSB it's great and I've made some fantastic mates on there I use a YAESU FT-857D and a sharmans multicom X30 2/70 colinier in my loft and got many great contacts as I say nice little radio you've got there I must say and good video too take care 73's stephen M3SNV brekfield liverpool {UK}.

  • sounds like forest gump

  • Class bit of kit!

  • suenan bien estos radios

  • these things are so cool! i only have 4 scanners and three shortwave radios.

  • Hi Brad, the equipment you have sounds good, post some videos of them sometime. 73 Pete.

  • ive just put a video of two of my scanners. title should be police scanners

  • Hi Brad, thanks for letting me know, I'll have a look. 73 Pete

  • Great reliable rigs with great audio, and what a design, wow!

Have already collected a Kenwood TS-700, TS-700G and recently a TS-600 (my fav).

Now hunting for a decent TS-700S!

    Joined the "KenwoodTS600NTS700" Yahoo-group too.

  • Hi Dogiehogan, Yes, they are very well built and as you say very reliable. I've also joined the "KenwoodTS600NTS700" yahoo group.

73 Peter G0OMH P.S. New and better video of the TS-700 coming soon.

  • Hi Peter,

The Kenwood TS-700G was my first all-mode rig, which I bought in Mai 1978, after I succesfully qualified for the radioexamination.

Unfortunately, in 1980 I had to sell the TS-700G to buy the expensive HF TS-820.

Looking forward to a 'new' and improved video.

    73 Robert

  • a very handsome radio indeed. you just cant beat the classic stuff.

  • I'll get some better videos of the TS-700 on here very soon, so keep a look out :D

I love classic radio equipment, the new stuff doesn't feel like 'real radio' to me.

  • Hiya Pete, now thats a 2meter radio I do like, I also like the way that 2meters is being used as proper radio should be.

    fantastic

    how are you these days?

  • Hi Jay, great to hear from you, hope you and the family are well. I love this rig. I worked a station in Lincolnshire this morning with my loft aerial and running only 8 watts, not bad :-)

  • that's terrific, I was listening to the contesting last night on 80/40 , it was so busy to me that I didnt know who to listen to next . the band , I have never seen it so full .

    packed to the rafters.

hows the qrp project coming along.?

  • I've had the good fortune to own a TS 600 for the last couple of years. I believe it hears even better than my TS 2000. Often have thought of acquiring a TS 700 to complete the set, but we've moved and I don't have the two meter yagi in the air any more. Maybe some day. Fine radio iron.

  • Love the TS-700 - and of course it brother the TS-600 on 6 meters. For anyone interested I have a Yahoo Group for these radios called "KenwoodTS600NTS700" Rod K9ROD

  • Hi Rod.

Yes, the TS-700 is a really lovely transceiver and well built. And I'll join your Yahoo Group. Thanks for the comment, 73 Peter G0OMH

  • great old radio. i use to have an old yaesu frg 7. great, a bit of station drift, but that's nothing.

  • That was a good radio! Well built and rugged and great sounding receive and transmit audio on SSB as well as FM. I owned a Kenwood TS-700A in the late 1970's and early 1980's when I lived in the state of Oregon.

  • Hi Bill, It still is a good radio :>) it's a lovely radio. I'll post a better video of it soon. 73 Peter G0OMH

  • what a lovely old rig, i wish......

  • Hi Mick, this is a poor video of the radio, so I'm going to make a new video soon. Many thanks for the comment. 73 Peter G0OMH (just up the road from you) :>)

  • super radio, very nice...

  • hermoso !!!

  • very reminiscent of a FRG-7.did they have lots of cabinets over when they made the frg? hi hi

  • You may well be right. It's a very nice old radio, I love it ;>)
