Wow. This guy is an amazing "unboxer"! You're kidding right? You're one scary fucker. You obviously forgot to take your medication. The R16 is tool for recording. Post a clip of some serious work you've done using the R16. Anyone make a video opening the box. I suggest an appointment with a mental health professional. 5 stars for demonstrating that there are some strange humans with computers. I'm certain we won't hear any music from this poster. He just plays with gadgets.

thank you so much for your hands-on review and test of this product. the site you posted was very informative. i pretty much paid close attention to the problems you encountered with the R-16. it's a great innovative design, which makes me want one to start up my home recording studio. but after learning from your site, i just hope zoom will be able to fix it first before i get one of these.

I just ordered one of this. I'll need two pieces for 16 tracks audio simultaneous recording. But first I'll have to check the quality... if it works fine I'll order tghe second piece. So, what's your words about it?

Everyone asking for more info needs to read the video description at the top-right.

I wanted to warn you that there will be an additional 1-2ms delay between playback of the 2 R16s linked together.

It might not matter for your application, but know that they don't synchronize perfectly in time, it's loose by some milliseconds.

Hi Jamon. Sorry... I didn't see that link. By the way, you made nice review. I see you are PRO. I would like to ask you one more question. I'm a video producer actually. I record live shows of semi-pro bands. Ok I can produce good quality video, but what about the audio. Some costumers renounce my services 'cause they say it don't worth pay for a good quality video DVD but with poor audio. That's why I'm trying to find a cheap equipament to record 16 audio tracks simultaneously. 16tk is enough.

This way I can offer my video production services plus audio mixing/mastering. So here's my question: do that delays/sync problems ruin my video/audio sync? Or that will be indifferent for most people?

It'll work good if you do a lot of cuts. You can't just shoot the whole show and sync it because of the inconsistent timing drift. But if you split the audio into songs, and use multiple cameras, then you can cut the video into smaller chunks that you can make sync with the audio using align and timestretch tools.

Man, I can't believe it... So it will make me spend some extra time to sync audio/video. Oh no.. it's late. It's already ordered. I want a machine that will simplify my work. I think will be better if I'd buy a Hard Drive based audio recording equipment. It would be expensive but do the work. Thanks a lot for your time and sorry about my poor english... I'm Brasilian.
