According to the jackasses who support this, you "can't" just open a free checkings account. You need a "credit check". I called BS on that because I got my account in under 10 minutes without a check of any kind. I also know undocumented immigrants with free checkings accounts. this is how it works, you get the card for free, then you HAVE to pay a 20 dollar activation fee or else the card is useless, you can find an automatic 5 dollar deposit coupon when you 1st activate it so you have a 15 dollar activation fee now, so after you pay the 15 dollars for the activation fee, you can deposit money and start shopping or buying stuff online, and i direct deposit into mine and if you lose it or it gets stolen you call the number on the back and tell them to block it

this is a fuxcking joke I read the all the fees on the website and the first time you put money on it, it takes $20.00 out of what you put on it so if you put 20 on it you have nothing but a fucking piece of plastic and everytime you buy something you get charged a dollar to check how much you have it cost 50 cents it`s a fucking rip off don`t get it all their doing is getting richer its bull shit your stupid if you get it because they say they are conveinent fees more like inconvienent

This is the most incompetent company on the face of the earth. I signed up. They asked me to fax my ID. I did. Then they asked me to email it. I did. And they asked again. I did. And they asked again. I complained. They said a supervisor would call me in 24 hours. That was at least 48 hours ago and I got another message today that a supervisor would call in 24 hours. I told them to forget it. Too incompetent to handle my money. They suck.

The catch to these prepaid debit cards are the fees you're charged. I had an GreenDot Visa prepaid debit card. There's a $4.95 fee to put money on the card and a $9.95 a month maintenance fee. I would load money onto my card once a month. So, $14.90 a month ($4.95 fee to load money onto the card and $9.95 a month maintenance fee) added up to $178.80 a yr in fees. That's ridiculous. If you can, get a checking account like I did.

no this is really true im only 15 and im getting mines in 7 to 10 days if u r my age all u need is your social security card number and your parent/gaurdians i.d and thats it. (obviously u have to fill out the application online) and theres a one time only 20.00 dollar deposit to get started its that simple

I hope you read all the details about the fees on the website they charge you a dollar each and everytime you buy something it cost like three dollars to get your money out of the atm its just a scam you might as well just throw russel simmons and his rich family the money you were planning to spend with the card because its just a rip off is it that hard to keep cash in your pocket. you have 40.00 for something you stick 40.00 on card now you have you spent 20.00 for activation card not free!
