Everytime I watch this commercial, I'm reminded that in order to Achieve ANYTHING amazing in this life, it takes an Immense amount of Love and Obsession. All the legends that have come before us, gave themselves completely to this Ideal. To Sacrifice yourself, for Immortality through the Art that you leave behind...this is the question I guess...who is willing to give that...
This just goes to show you that there is still some people out there that play for the love of the game, and not for the money. When I first saw this commercial it brought a tear to my eye.
Michael Jordan after MJ came back to win his fourth championship in 1996 on Father's Day..........My God.....First title since losing his father........I understand now.....
@Edocicca i mean..... its hard for me to talk about.. you know?.... look, there are only two of us that know exactly what this meant, me and MJ.....and uhm.. i dont know, sometimes you know when its better not to say anything...i dont know.. yeah
10 REAL Reasons Why He is Crying 10. No one in the locker room likes him. 9. He knows unless he can cheat, he will never be good in golf. 8. He bet the under. 7. Doesn't want to share the trophy with any teammate. 6. Russian gangsters, David Stern, Double A 5. Knows he can't hit a curveball, fastball or a slider. 4. Hanes is making him do a thong commercial next. 3. Knows pops is abouts to drops. 2. Realizes he should have married a white woman. 1. Will Perdue just showed him his willie.
...I'll say it too ... zeke you are reading too much into it- If you can relate to how michael's situation during that time then I understand other than that take a chill pill my friend lol this commercial is brilliant
zekehawkins take a chill pill you must be an ivy league student or something ...its not that serious the commercial is both humorous and sentimental - I see no disrespect or negitivity in this commercial
@lafuzion i agree with you lafuzion. there is no underlying tone that says the basketball / the commercial is making fun of mj. in fact i think they are putting this moment, the moment mj broke down, up as a way to get ppl to watch the finals bc it is such a dramatic time in basketball. it stirs emotion, therefore gets ppl to watch. thats how i would take this commercial from a marketing standpoint. why the hell would the finals make fun of themselves if they want ppl to take them seriously.
zekehawkins, your misunderstanding the brilliance of this commercial!! The NBA is not making fun of the moment, they're honoring it!! They're advertising the emotion that the game of basketball can have on a player during their personal situations. Everyone who's a die hard bulls fan, like myself, knows that this moment for Michael was not only historic for winning a 4th title after his comeback, but for winning it in honor of his father!!!
@zekehawkins Ok you obviously don't get the meaning of the ad so I'm going to tell you anyway. The basketball was the emotion from Micheal Jordan. And the ball was the only thing he shared the moment with.
@MasterX456 the ball is not the emotion. the ball is the ball. thats consistent through all of the talking ball commercials. they're bringing the ball to life. he plays and works alongside them and experiences the same moments and feelings, but its still just a ball. simple, but cool
@lafuzion What did he say?

This is how Vernon Davis felt when he caught the touchdown pass to beat the saints in the playoffs.

It is so hard to see a legend acting human. Watching MJ cry is just too powerful for words.

First title after the death of his father. This is why he cried. MJ-s career is full with emotional moments.
