  • the end music is swing low sweet chariot... is this game really that awesome?

  • HAHAHAHA! I love your Classic Game Room Atari device! HAHAHAHAHA! You made my day.

  • This is so funny.

  • this was such a damn good review. i was nearly rofling at the Atari accessories bit.

  • I wish marks videos would get more views

  • @l85a1user Incidentally, he did a review video on some crappy Ben 10 game that got 40 million views. But classic actual good stuff like these old consoles go unlooked.

No wonder Justin Bieber is so popular. People don't know what's good anymore.

  • Mark officially lost his marbles...

  • Mark your a genius

  • 3:40 - "a USB cartridge adapter".....that's actually a really good idea. It make our old cartridges...less obsolete.

  • You need push up and fire on the joystick to shoot rockets above the atmosphere.

  • reminds me of axelay

  • Thanks for spoiling 2012 for me already, CGR Your Atari add-on for iPhone is clearly the greatest idea of the year (possibly the millenium) and it's only January 3rd. Now I've got nothing to look forward to for the rest of the year. >:(

  • I didn't think it was all that weird until I heard "Swing Low Sweet Chariot"... that was awesome

  • InecomCompany

  • I laughed so hard when he showed the cartridge adapter for the Iphone...

  • does it have a cockpit view?

  • This game looks way too complicated for the 2600.

  • The Vectrex will be more popular, because you promote it with your reviews Mark <3

  • 4:23 - FAIL! I don't see a cassette deck for the Supercharger.

  • It looks REALLY impressive for a 2600 game. o.o

  • I played that for ages, together with Yar's Revenge. Good games!

  • It looks like a freakin' ARCADE GAME!

  • This guy must smoke a lot of weed, there's no other explanation

  • I have two tape drives in RAID 0 configuration on my PC

  • @Westplay

I have 1 cock in my butt, and 1 in my mouth.

  • @Broyale26 I hope you're having a great time

  • Played this game SO much as a kid, proud to say that I've still got it too! (And about four 2600's!)

  • i like your comments i like how you do the reviews, nice presenting, as well as highly entertaining

  • This looks like the most impressive Atari 2600 game I have ever seen. Also like the influence of the later ST game Galactic Conqueror. Very impressive.

  • God, I remember this game. It was THE BEST game ever put out for the Atari 2600. Imagic really knew what they were doing when they made this game. It was simply superb It really pushed the Atari 2600's graphical capabilities. I wish I still had my copy of this game. It holds a tender spot in my heart.

  • 4:44 If I was like my dad I would explain why that is not a modem, but I'm not so...

  • Doth NOBODY remember the late 2600 game SOLARIS that used to come with the machine in the '80s? Well, let me say that now I've learned that it was less imaginative than I originally believed. That is a TOTAL rip of Moonsweeperr here.

  • First time I seen Moonsweeper

  • These great excellent ways for the use of ultimate pixels of its time are awesome!!

  • The projectile looks like a penis

  • I wanna start a charity, where all the proceeds will go to buying Mark a time traveling El Camino.. any contributors?

  • I would buy 3 of your Atari players. Online. Via that 2400 baud modem.

  • Seeing these sorts of graphics, you'd never believe this was an Atari 2600 game and not a release for the Colecovision or Intellivision. And yes, I probably spelled one of those names wrong. :-)

  • Thank You Mark. You saved my life! Greetz

  • I don't remember this. Did it come out for intellevision?

  • not being rude or anything but these old reviews are the only ones i watch :3 LOVE THEM! i also enjoy the interactive adventure xP

  • That picture that Mark drew sums up the reason why I love Classic Game Room so much.

  • some 1 gimme a towel there's a smudge on the like bar :D

  • 1 dislike. FOREVER ALONE. :D

  • That looks like the best Atari 2600 EVER!

I love your idea for an Atari 2600 player, it should be called the Atari-mo-tron 26000. Yes, twenty six thousand.

  • games used to be... fun?

  • Every time I watch your videos I regret selling all of my old consoles to buy the next generation.

  • @qahtani Yeah.... don't do that man :) If you can't afford the next gen just wait untill you can, that what I did and I managed to keep almost all my consoles :P

  • 1:17

    what is the best game?

  • The graphics are really good for a 2600 game. The way the creatures move in arcs and such. On top of that, the raster effects.. no Pitfall 2, but in close company.

  • This game looks pretty good!

  • Holy shit i think i had this on an atari clone!

  • Comment removed

  • no dislikes this is what i like to see

  • @keithealy spoke too soon. :(

  • lol, i first read Minesweeper

  • Is it me, or does Mark seem totally high in this video?

  • Did it play "Swing Low Sweet Chariot" at the end?

  • @gillianorley yes, yes it is.

  • Hey Mark,

Can you upload a video tell us how to crazy dash on crazy taxi because I can't do it

    Thanks

    TheeFunkyChicken

  • I wish Mark would have reviewed this back in 2008. The 2008 Mark would have given this an intellectual review about how groundbreaking this game was for a 2600 game like he did with Battlezone and Tunnel Runner. He would have even broke it up into a 2 part review with really cool disco music or the other types of cool music he used to use in his earlier reviews. I miss all the cool stock music and multi-part reviews he used to do with his intellect and movie references.

  • ALL HAIL MARK!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • hmm your moonsweeper cartridge is different then mine my moonsweeper cartridge is still made by imagic but its a solid blue label with white text and its in the cartridge styl like somthing activision would make is that commen or something rare?

  • @roosteemon Maybe you got a bootleg?

  • @roosteemon AtariAge (dotcom) has a rarity guide for the 2600, they show both label versions of this game as rarity 4 out of 10. So both versions are what they call "scarce+"

2600 game publishers went through lots of changes in their labels for whatever reason.

  • @happyblades sure

  • @AgainstTheWicked He's got one, it's called CGR. :)

  • Goddamn this is a really good looking game for the atari

  • This guy needs his own show

  • Mark is planing world domination... and I'm totally fine with that :P

  • @TekmonX Mark for president! ...No, wait... Mark for Supreme Global Overlord! (The title of Supreme UNIVERSAL Overlord belongs to Lord Karnage)

  • i never heard of this game but i was actually impressed. and this is coming from someone who just finished LA Noire.

  • Thanks for the blueprints, sucker! Now I'm off to the patent office! Mwahahaha

  • Best CGR review ever? Quite possibly! Mark you really outdid yourself this time, and that says a lot! ;)

  • I wish my life had a wood grain finish

  • AWSOME GAME!!! Thank you Mark for bringing this up! Wish you all the best for 2012!

  • I just found this game and had it on one of my pickups videos. Loved it as soon as I popped it in. Love the channel Mark!

  • Loving the 2600 reviews again Mark, keep up the good work

  • what were you smoking when you came up with that cartridge reader? oh and can I have some of your pizza?

  • Oh Mark, you so crazy! No dislikes yet! Just like you deserve!

  • dude, the song they chose to for the game over, just makes it MORBID!!! i never really aplyed deat to atari games, but that song playing just makes it scream "you are dead now"

  • looks like buck rogers

  • Mark, keep up the 2600 reviews! Or any Atari system, I've no preference. BTW, my two year old LOVES your opening music, and stops whatever he's doing to look (even if he's balling his eyes out). KUTGW!

  • @teknifix Yeah 2600 rules

  • I gotta say, this has some of the best graphics I've ever seen on the 2600. The gameplay looks pretty fun, too, though aiming your shots seems difficult. Still, very impressive for the era.

  • I want an El Camino

  • lol mark and his El Camino

  • xD

  • Someone get Mark a time machine! Where's that guy from Quatar?

  • I was 13 in 1983....ME FTW.

  • @GaggleofDoozies You old bastard, i was only 12.

  • Swing down, sweet chariot, coming forth to carry me to the moon?

  • This game looks amazing for its time.

I also want this invention, Mark.

  • Looks like the 2600´s graphics weren´t that bad if the programmers had enough time for development.

  • Really, really missed this episodes of true classic games. Thanks a lot, Mark! :)

  • I think we can all agree that Mark's invention should be put into production immediately.

  • When I looked at the drawing of the phone and 2400 baud modem MY PHONE RANG and scared the living garbage right outta me.

  • atari = space shooter.

  • it would be cool if companies made games for older systems like atari and vectrex

  • Mark, you should review Solaris, the best Atari VCS game BY FAR

  • Damn knowing what Imagine was smoking in 83, I want to know what Mark is smoking now in 2011. LOL!

  • Acoustic couplers for the win!

  • from this to MW3

    mankind HAS evolved

  • CGR has the only intro that i acualy want to watch! Just becasue it has good music! All other intros arnt nessecary

  • you know, that cartridge usb pen was not a bad idea at all, mark.

  • James Earl Jones brought me here

  • Thumbs up if Mark's voice makes your dick wet.

  • Wow, this is really technically impressive for the 2600. It looks more like a 5200 game. Im surprised I missed this back in the day.

  • I wasn't around at the time of the Atari 2600, but having played the Activision Hits: Remixed collection, it's easy for me to see that those games kick a lot of ass! The commercials were a bit ridiculous, though.

  • Well it is true the Vectrex will be more popular in 2012, cause I just got one =D

  • my favorite atari 2600 game! so many memories with this one... thanks mark :)

  • Hahaha! minesweeper huh?

Cool. You forgot one thing, the giant wood grain data tape recorder Can't possibly exist without the exceptionally wood grained data tape Reader(sold separately)

  • I love this game, one of my favorite Atari games. Too bad Imagic went under in 1984, they could have made some totally awesome Commodore 64 and NES games.

  • @TeamRocketReviews I agree! Did Activision buy the rights to their games? The reason I ask is because this game is on Activision Anthology for the PS2. I love this game too, but it's really tough!

  • huh, My sinuses were running but when I clicked this video it stopped. CGR HEALS PEOPLE

  • @01Zipang Not lying, me too!

  • Alright if I get into making video games, I'll restart Imagic.

  • "swing low sweet chariot" was that really the game over music???

  • @MegaPower124 LOL FUCKING WAT?!

  • @MegaPower124 Oh....Internet...

  • @MegaPower124 Newt Gingrich is a devil-worshipping, puppy-eating monster who will destroy the world as we know it... go back to playing video games... leave voting for the grown-ups...

  • @MegaPower124 What the hell kinda comment is that?

  • @MegaPower124 Ron Paul 2012!

  • @MegaPower124 Can I have some of your pizza?

  • @MegaPower124 Is that from something?

  • i remember this one c64 version mind you but still an awesome game, and an entertaining review

  • Man, if they had used an El Camino in Back to the Future, our world would have been very different...

  • Chronic smoking Atari space action, with pizza, beer & a '83 Camaro.

  • mark review minecraft

  • Mark is as weird and funny as ever. XD

  • Aww, penis. Where was this game back in the day?!? I would have played it to death!

  • @sillygoose544

Tell me more about your penis.

  • Also this game looks awesome, agree that it could have been a 5200 game!

  • Looks like Buck Rogers and Planet of Zoom, or whatever thats called

  • Comment removed

  • Your voice is awesome, lol.

    Funny game. xD

  • We have to bring back faux-woodgrain finish NOW!!!

  • @jcrowley1985 Fancy limo-class cars still have wood grain accents in 'em :)

  • "It's almost...Imagi-ca-tive"

    MARK

    WHY

    THE PUNS

    HNNNNNGGGHHHH

  • Wow, I can't believe this is on 2600... almost looks like a 5200 game..

  • They were trying to do sandbox before anyone knew what sandbox meant.

  • @xXxThr33xXx actually they knew what sandbox meant back then... it just meant a place for children to crap in and still play in it

  • fucking awesome

  • "epicmw2guy" with that name I don't even care what he wrote.

  • 2:57 ya, i dont think those developers are the only ones who smoke that crazy weed :P

  • Wow, Mark's on a 2600 roll. With cheese.

  • not as good as custer's revenge

  • This game looks awesome can't believe I didn't know about it until this video.

  • Good graphics for 2600 game. There's even a dynamic shadow on the ship when you're skimming the surface.

  • I like to see people saying "first" way down the list.

  • its the size of a small room and only plays artari games BUT its still a better iphone add-on then app blaster

  • youtube math 324 views=31 likes thats not how its sopost to work its sopost to be 324 views 1435 likes no youtube ur doing it wrong

  • love the picture you drew xD

  • This game truly is a hidden 2600 gem. How did they cram all that awesome stuff into 4k, any...it's got music, too!!!???!!! Holy...

Great to see Mark getting back into the classics.

  • good game

  • lol at Mark losing it and going all out 80's fantasy

  • I like watching your reviews even if I don't like the system and/or game. I'm so strange

  • Running over minors!

  • mark is an inventor

  • It's too bad Mark doesn't realize that you can shoot the large ships up at the top of the screen by firing while pulling down on the joystick.... =P

  • @progrocker69

    But he did at 2:56

  • @SpyengoEen At 2:56 he wasn't on a planet. He was in space where you can either fire straight up or diagonally left or right.

It's on planets when those two kinds of big motherships fly by that you want to do the pull down and fire trick. Big points in hitting those. You can also stop those annoying ground saucers from spawning if you hit them fast enough.

Trust me, I played the hell out of this game in the day. :)

  • :D, my fav atari game

  • skylanders? ;(

  • I olny played Atlantis from imagic and it was amazing. Now I see this and undestand what a great company was. Not many companies could make good graphics with the dear 2600

  • 11

  • Finally I have been waiting for another Atari 2600 review. Its my favorite console of all time, and I wasn't even around when it was current or new!
