Thank you very much for these tutorials. Using these techniques I have engineered two arrow machine-guns that trigger and trap simultaneously any form of 2x1x1 mob (2 high) such as a creeper. I will be uploading one of the methods soon on my channel - quite simple circuitry but useful for anyone with pistons, redstone, a dispenser and a bucketload of arrows that wants to defend their house! @Dustin2010james. No you need the first gate's output to be the second input but, you can have a gate with 3 inputs and 2 outputs with 1 input affecting both outputs and the other inputs affecting one output each.

Using the RS NOR Latch, I think I'll be able to set up stairs that are retractable, but not timed. So, you click the button, they come out. Then you climb the stairs, and there's a button at the top. If you click it, it flips the current, and reverses everything. I think.

It's actually very easy.

I'm used to regular scripting, and flowgraphing with CryENGINE. And I must say, red stone is just a 3D version of regular scripting for the game. Hence logic gates.

The reason everything seems to be complicated is the 3D aspect (well, at least for me, since I'm used to text and 2-D flow graphs, which can get complicated as HELL)

You see, i have a little problem with my redstone and i hoped you could help me :)

So my problem is:

i had a track switch thing in my mine so i could switch the direction of my railway

Then, i wanted to make a redstone wire all the way up to my house so i could deceide to wich direction the rail goes from my house

so i made a staircase for the redstone wire BUT when i layed al the redstone down it didn't came all the way to the top do i did use inverter

What I don't understand is the parameters for how redstone connects to blocks. Sometimes you can place it below the block and it works, sometimes it needs to go into the bottom of the block, other times it needs to connect to the top... nobody ever properly explains that sort of thing, and that's the sort of thing that needs explaining the most.

Also, it's fun to make traps to kill them if they greif. They won't come back usually thinking that you have more set, but they may thinking you don't, so make a few extra that don't look suspicious.

But maybe because 1: they had a full inventory 2: they are dumb greifers that don't check furnaces. A tip to hiding your chests from people is hiding it two blocks down or something, because they will literally tear apart the room.

You could make a Furnace Trap! Using the water to knock a torch onto a wooden pressure plate, you can trigger TnT! If you want to collect loot from this, use 1 TnT so the enemy's stuff doesn't explode and disinigrate. Lots of greifers know these triks with levers, but not taking Coal from a furnace. also, put something else worth taking in it, like Iron Ingots, bcause I was graifed, and they left all the furnace coal
