I had that poster too. I think Roy and Ayshea Brough were a couple for a while. I still remember 'The Ayshea Incident' on TOTP - she was onstage boogying in a schoolgirl outfit and at the fade, just as the camera was panning out, Roy picked her up, threw her over his shoulder and pulled her knickers down. Before the age of the VCR sadly, but it was the talk of the school next day!

He used to turn up to the disco's at the Reservoir pub in Earlswood, Warks/ West mids in the mid 80's he always wore the same dark red velvet jacket and just stood with the peasants never once giving it the bigun.

Roy Wood was a founder memeber of ELO and he was main man in an earlier group called The Move. Do you remember "Good By Blackberry Way"

Heard him on BBC Radio 2 recently, seemed quite a sensible chap, said he never got into drugs thing as he thought I'm makling hit records without doing them so why bother. On 'Top of the Pops' (which I'm pretty sure this is taken from originally) and other music shows in the 70s, budgetary and time constraints often meant bands couldn't play live even if they wanted to! Some, including Roy here, would send this policy up by deliberately miming out of sync or other methods. (Fish, lead singer of Marillion once 'performed' a song without moving his lips but by holding up cards bearing the lyrics!)
