They work very, VERY well for speed and especially power. I've found doing it on a hill with the weight on your front it really makes a total leg and lower back workout, plus obliques and core in general.
From doing these my squat and leg press both increased as well as my vertical jump. Just make sure you warm up properly and - if you can - try to do it up a hill, that way you put the least stress on your knees and ankles and also makes it a LOT harder :D
i see..how much has your squat and vert improved by? And also you say they work for speed..do you have any tests that you've ran that show just how much you've improved? Thanks.
I can't remember the exact increases as it was a while ago, but I got my squat from the 90kg range to the 100kg pretty quickly. My vert (as I don't measure it) went from about middle abs to chest, so a good 6-8".
I don't really do speed tests, but I was running low 13's for the 100m before I started working legs (and doing these), and now I am running high 11's. So these among other things I'm doing definetly help speed.
cool story bro.

Nice work. I love doing these, though unfortunately I only have concrete hills unlike this beautiful grass hill, lol. Keep it up.
