I believe the tiger could possibly be a robot or doll, although i don't know when was it movied. tigers and lions are extreme agile and heavy fighters, the dogs would get in serious trouble. In real life, no two dogs can ever overpower a tiger. Even cougars are known to mutilate pitbulls. Dude, tigers have killed and kill everything from large constrictors, brown bears, to huge gaurs, plus crocodiles, never mind domestic dogs of many breeds. And they do it all single-handedly. @bilbring Actually back in the day carnival people used Great Danes to to protect themselves when working with big cats like tigers. If the cat got out of hand the Dane would leap to the trainer's defense. Look it up, it's amazing what you can learn when actually read.

Yep it's easy for two dogs to kill a tiger that has a back leg or two tied to a tree. Now lets see how long those dogs last in the forest with free tigers. Or even cougars. One of my neighbors lost a 150lb rottie to a cougar, the cat grabbed it in the night and hauled it up a tree and ate most of it. Dogs and humans are stupid. Cats rule.
@superTHODORIS Probably but it would depend on the situation. Cats are masters of stealth and dogs are kindof oblivious in general, they won't hear the predator approach until it's too late. A cougar can surprise and kill an elk, a large domesticated dog should be no problem.

The only other land predator that could give a Tiger a fair fight is the Grizzly Bear. A Tiger would literally kill any dog with a paw-swipe. But nice filmography nonetheless.

actually if you did some research you would find out that the Persians and Assyrians used the dog for protection and hunting. during my research ive come across a few stories of them taking on lions and other large game. i'm not saying this clip is real cause its from a show. also keep in mind later on in history the Romans bread them as fighting dogs "dog-gladiators".
It all depends on just how any great danes there are one swipe from a tiger would break there bones and would normally give up but if there were enough (which there certainly wasn't) then the tiger would lose not before it killed a good few great danes first

This video makes the tiger look really really bad as in really really weak even know its not. But if it were a lion in this video, it wouldnt be taking the dogs shit, it wouldnt run like a baby and get its ass kicked, it would kill the dogs with 1 paw swipe with little effort.
I've heard of stories in Africa where a single male lion had taken on as many as 25 hyenas during the night and killed them all (not without it's own injuries). That would the absolute extreme case because hyenas (a close relative of the dog) are not pushovers: they're tough as nails. I think adult wild tiger would slaughter these great danes, no problem.
fucken sad, probably a now extinct javan or bali tiger being that any other type of tiger would have fucked those docs up. the javan and bali were the smallest weighing 90-120kg alot less than the siberians 300kg +. the film industry perfered these smaller ones as it allowed for scenes similar to those above.
In this video...tiger is no doubt smaller and inexperienced but also in an unknown territory and seems out of sorts. It looks like it wants to retreat and great danes are charging on it. In the wild, there have been instances of canned hunting in past, where a pack of dogs easily drives off a full grown tiger simply because of their numbers. If tiger did not retreat, it was given multiple bites following which tigers died due to infection or rabies. Ofcourse, dogs also died in the fight.
I loved this movie as a kid. It's still good!

And the monster crocs (20-30 ft.) eat rhinos and hippos, they drag lions and buffalo into the water like doggie buiscuts.

well, is easy to see this was a movie. But anyway, one of those dogs can weight 80 kg, and that just the biggest males. The tiger is a feline that can reach 300 kg. It´s just a suicide for any kind of dog seen.

most feline lions or tigers could totally destroy a dog or two. and great danes aren't as scary as people think they are. just cause there big they aren't fearsome, pitbulls can take a great dane down. Oh and btw @markus777 hyenas are more closely related to cats then dogs, believe it or not, its really crazy when you think about it, like how hippos are more closely related to whales and any other.

actually if you did some research you would find out that the Persians and Assyrians used the dog for protection and hunting. during my research ive come across a few stories of them taking on lions and other large game. i'm not saying this clip is real cause its from a show. also keep in mind later on in history the Romans bread them as fighting dogs "dog-gladiators".

It all depends on just how any great danes there are one swipe from a tiger would break there bones and would normally give up but if there were enough (which there certainly wasn't) then the tiger would lose not before it killed a good few great danes first

@srpskiheroi not even close actually as much as a jaguar but a female lion can weigh as much as 400 lbs and the largest male lion weight ever recorded was 650 (a quater of a ton) so as far as weght dogs can't compete sorry.

i'm sorry fellas but tigers ARE larger and stronger than lions. this was a baby , abit longer than the dog. a saw on a documentary that they grow up to 5 meters long....
it would kill both dogs with a single swipe. BUT this is prob a movie and the dogs came in to save the day from the bad tiger. look at the shooting and the camera angle. even the ppl following the dogs to see if they are okay

This video makes the tiger look really really bad as in really really weak even know its not. But if it were a lion in this video, it wouldnt be taking the dogs shit, it wouldnt run like a baby and get its ass kicked, it would kill the dogs with 1 paw swipe with little effort.

I've heard of stories in Africa where a single male lion had taken on as many as 25 hyenas during the night and killed them all (not without it's own injuries). That would the absolute extreme case because hyenas (a close relative of the dog) are not pushovers: they're tough as nails. I think adult wild tiger would slaughter these great danes, no problem.

fucken sad, probably a now extinct javan or bali tiger being that any other type of tiger would have fucked those docs up. the javan and bali were the smallest weighing 90-120kg alot less than the siberians 300kg +. the film industry perfered these smaller ones as it allowed for scenes similar to those above.

In this video...tiger is no doubt smaller and inexperienced but also in an unknown territory and seems out of sorts. It looks like it wants to retreat and great danes are charging on it. In the wild, there have been instances of canned hunting in past, where a pack of dogs easily drives off a full grown tiger simply because of their numbers. If tiger did not retreat, it was given multiple bites following which tigers died due to infection or rabies. Ofcourse, dogs also died in the fight.
