I think the lobster's becoming aware of the heat. I'm old enough to have seen much change. I've traveled enough to have a broad overview of cultures. I've been in nearly every town in the U.S. and much of Canada, Mexico and so my perspective on our economic crisis is less dramatic than what the media hypes. In other words, we have enormous resources here in our country. We have the knowledge. What we lack is leadership. We need a plan to reinvent our economy and the means to connect to people.

Do you think that almost anything we have right now in the U.S. or around the world would be possible without them? Corporations form the largest part of the global economy and the economy is literally what causes the human race to function, trade, and prosper.

@Salt231 I don't think that Field McConnell is ignorant of corporates roll in jobs and how the system works. What he is attempting to point out is what happens when money and power corrupt within. You can ether take it on faith, disagree for any reason of your choice, you can dig up the facts yourself or even verify his. If nothing else, at least look into it. Ignorance is bliss but knowledge will set you free.

@Salt231 Julius Cesar thought so and so have many wealthy men and women. But big difference in corporations that pay fair wages and don't farm jobs elsewhere. I don't blame the corporation ether. The responsibility is the working mans and the consumers. We need to take back control of production by competing in a different market and trading with ourselves. Import much less and create jobs that offer livable wages or better. What we have is legalized slavery here and in China.

I have been reading "A People's History of the United States" by Howard Zinn and a constant pattern in the book is that big business and government can ill-treat and be unjust and the people cannot really put up opposition. Those big conglomerates have a big police force with the right to shot someone.

Though strikes and sit-ins and the threat of a socialist uprising was disruptive enough to make them compromise. They gave out more money but still kept the reins firmly in their hands.

Im an Irish citizen and I see my country doing the exact same thing.What I do not see is a solution.Spreading the word and bringing up these topics has become a quick way to bore most people.

@ratiocinativeness My fear is that when i go to retire , the corporation i work for will somehow steal the pension that i have paid into for the last 22 years. My corporation pays me a decent wage, but we are completely owned. I am on call 24 hrs a day, 365 days a year, when the phone rings i have to pick it up. I do a physical job outdoors, and they have taken away all our breaks, except a 20minuite break in a 10 hr day. I know it doesnt compare to you , but everyday things get worse.

i know this sounds "against common knowledge". There are point of use energy technologies that could give 100% usage efficiency. We don't use them because they do not serve the monopoly of fuel and usage that we have now. It is difficult to notice something that has not been around for 100 years.
