I've been playing Bass Clarinet for about 6 ish years now... (: Absolute favorite instrument ever haha. I know this is an old video, but to help your tone, open your ombiture more. You're too far towards the end on the reed, you need to have your bottom lip more towards the middle. Other than that not bad when transitioning from low to octave (:

hey i play the bass clarinet to... i only wanted to play it because its low notes but im thinking of playng the bassoon now because the bass clarinet can only go down to a D#, the bassoon can go down to a Bb, thats 2 and 1/2 notes lower which is wierd because the bass clarinet is a Bb tone instrument the bassoon is an F

Keep in mind that the more mouthpiece there is in ur mouth when playing bass clarinet, the better. Dont overdoit though.

Also, as I learned (the hard way through brutal pestering from my band director), bass clarinets rarely put in enough air. you seem very good at bass clarinet, although I also play it, now dont get me wrong i think your flawless, but heres some critisism, breath support, dont be timid breath harder and you wont get that "Airy" sound, and a little tip, try and use a harder reed it helps ALOT!!

i play bass clarinet now i use to play clarinet i switch about 2-3 weeks ago and now i'm in the school district honor band i used to be 7 chair out of 19 clarinets in the school band but now i'm about 1st chair out of 2 people my friend(also bass clarinet)forced me to switch because he was lonely being the only bass clarinet in the advance band so i switched sorry it's so long but i was on a roll and avatar is awsome but i didnt even reconize the second one until a while
