  • Crazy...I bought this 12' for $25 bucks...I would have paid $100.....

  • love it.good luck finding it. i found this single on amazon. with synopsis on the b side. this dude dropped this joint and dropped out of sight. i seen this otha album called currency. i think thats the title but its out of stock. smh.

  • wow im so glad this vid has almost 55 thousand plays. this track is timeless

  • 1-800 suicide!!

  • sweet throw back

  • Damn yo... I miss the 90s... This joint is madd smooth.

  • this joint is part of the class of 1994..........i challenge anyone to say that there has been a year better and please do your research before you step........beatnuts, nas, gang starr, group home, the nonce, organized konfusion, and o.c. to name a few...bring it!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @watch9366

1994 was without question the best year hip hop ever saw. Glad I was in 11th grade to truely apprecite it!

  • @Billytok97 im in grade 11 now, i can only say this came out today...

  • First time I heard this.. I was hooked. Beat is super hott and his lyrics are clever.

  • And To Continue It Erule Has His Championship Cut As Composing One Of The Illest Rhymes Ever To Be Commited To Rap Record..Well Done...:)

  • Yo this nigga's producer/D.J. name was King Born Allah, that was when the Gods were them niggaz B4 most of them turnt 2 feign's! This track and them cuts was perfect. Do niggaz other than Primo Pete Rock Babu D.J. Muggs Just Blaze, yall gotta help me out even do beats & cut anymore! And King Born Allah is one of the illest attributes next 2 Supreme Magnetic. (LOL)

  • not many hit a a level of pure expressed feel like this for the times ... few and far between .. delivery, flow and stanima is strong with a humbleness that cant be messed with. Stand out trak ! Really felt timeless Hiphop ! : )

  • @SoulscheMattik - So True, When You Look At The Asthetic Of 1994 (Because It Seeming Had Such It's Own Identity Of Creativity) Erule Probaly Was One Of The Most Illest And Lyrical Assassins Out There...And That Was Just Off One Song..lol. You Gotta Remember Nas, OC, The Crooklyn Dodgers, GangStarr, And The Gravediggaz All Dropped During That Period. 1994 Was The Precursor To The Second Golden Era Of Hip-Hop In 1995 (Although Some Say The Second Golden Era Started In This Time)

  • Damn needed this 4 the collection hip hop at its best wish they still made it like this

  • hip hop hip hop

  • 1994

  • i am the creator of the "HipHopApostles" group on facebook and would like to share the real hip hop with the people who give respect to it

  • now I remember this cat was fire. Is he still recording? New York cat?

  • The last words of this song are prophetic...

"E-Rule the wise apprise 'em all,

Got a next level song and then I'm gone..."

    Brilliant work...

  • first heard this song when it was pplaying in that movie KIDS, been one of my favorite songs ever since.

  • 1:21 - 1:30

Now I know where Nas got his idea for one mic...

  • I would give ANYTHING to go back to the 90's! I REALLY wish I was older during those time's instead of NOW! I know things can be a lot worse but when we turn on the radio or watch MTV or BET what do we see Commercial BULLSHIT! E Rule is NASTY my man is ILL!

  • Classic .... I love 90's hip hop //// West Coast was crazy and I'm from NYC

  • What happen to this Kat? I remember this when I was in High School.......DOPE!

  • None of these new niggaz flow like this! Everytime I hear some new bullshit that the radio try's 2 force down your throat I go 2 Youtube and remember how niggaz had 2 come like this 2 be considered nice...

  • @effmunee like Talib Kweli said, "niggaz not sellin records, they sellin personalities".

  • classic Hip Hop.

  • Yo, it's been many days since this fly single dropped...I was there-RIK (The Gents) from LaDera. Those who know, know...I'm convinced ERULE should have been in NYC. He was way to lyrically inclined for L.A., unfortunately for L.A. I was freelance writer back during these days and took some photos of him which ended up in VIBE...I'm now a full time photographer in NYC!! What up, dog...I'm in NYC now...hollar. WHS 89! L.A. represent...

  • To whomever said that this came out Spring '94... I could be wrong, but i'm sure that I have this on Ron G's 21st Birthday Mixtape from '93?

  • @Universon Ron G probably had the promo version.

  • omg i cant believe im asking this but what was this beat orignally from

  • @blackbomb992 It's "Everybody Loves the Sunshine", a Roy Ayers classic.

  • Everybody Loves the Sunshine - Roy Ayers. its the way i found this classic. because i loved the sample and when to the breaks website to connect the 2

  • Really this is one of my favourites! THE FLOW IS AN EARORGASM XD

  • he did'nt use the word shawty and girls shakin there ass in the video. just strait flow. what happend to music like this. here's my question, can we get back to this or is this music of today is all that they got to offer?

  • The record industry killed once the powers that be realized how powerful hip hop was they started using it as a marketing tool. We can get back to it if you constantly complain to the radio stations about how bad the music is and stop buying this trash. They would have to put out better music and artist will get their creative freedom back.

  • @wmbutterworth97 Exactly man! Exactly! :O

  • Comment removed

  • What happened to ERule? This joint is certifiable classic but I don't remember much of anything else son dropped.I wish he blessed us with more jewels like this before he disappeared. Big ups wherever you are cousin!

  • unfortunately when he dropprd this joint in the spring of 94 the game was changing he went underground

  • remember this song from Yo...mtvraps and been lookin for it ever since now im complete. great post.

  • And nice use of KRS sample!

  • this sample is not from krs its from roy ayers sunshine

  • No, I'm on about the "LISTEN" VOCAL sample!

  • Comment removed

  • the vocal sample yes you are correct I thought you ment the track itself

  • i think he meant the listen part of the scatch

  • this flow is real nice for today, and especially real advanced for 94

  • "I'm on the brink of blowin' up y'all...", pity he never did, he was very advanced for 94-especially for west coast hip-hop. E-Rule totally deserved better.

  • he wasn't lying when he said he was about to wreck it

  • It reminds me of my good times ... ..

    SO chillin

  • man i been look 4 this record or song, when i do find it,ima freak em wit this...every dj needs this...time to dig.

  • ERULEs that dude! so nice

  • forgot about this trak ... Very nice to hear and see !

Lyricaly impressive flow wit ease ... flave on flave no doubt !

  • wheres this guy from?

  • Los Angeles...South Central to be exact.

    Dope, ain't he?

  • @sofakingstewpid But his style makes you think he's from NY or NJ. The beats and his delivery.

  • Damn I love how the song sampled ''Everybody Loves the Sunshine'' by Roy Ayers

    That track got soul !

  • So do you!

  • thanx for sending this jam .. havnt heard it in years ! .. Really dope sound !

    Excellent upload djsqualid !

  • i almost forgot about this trak, Erule reppin da West, diggin da piano & scratches

  • wow , it brings back so many memories . one of the reason rap was so addictive to me back then , thanks for putting it up ...i didnt even know the video exist.

  • I heard this shit in 94 before the best freak-nic ever...

  • ahhhh...freak-nic

    :-)

  • the west has always had tight spitters

  • no doubt

west from all the rest rumble in the chest when you hear it its the best

  • Who is this artist?

  • e rule he is west but the wu have em.....i love wu tang

  • Ae is he wu-tang affiliate?? Definitly not the Wu's usual style eh.

    Wu Forever Motherfuckers!

  • no hes not

  • nah he aint

  • the wu have em?!?!? wtf are you talkin about?? jo jo pellegrino is the only white wu affiliate son...

  • Yeah ... brings back memories ! But what I dig most is how his Dj scratches especially at the end !!! Old School Hip Hop

  • HIP HOP! What else can be said? Not a god damn thing...

  • remember finding out about this track cause the instrumental was in the movie Kids back in 95..

    sick one.

  • Yeah man, you know! Same here.

  • thanks for uploading this...haven't heard this since the mid 90s.

  • i miss hiphop!

  • Erule is nothing short of amazing. If you like this check out the B-side to this single, Synopsis. It's just as ill.

  • I remember hearing this cut from my Frat Bros mixtape year ago. I searched for this cut for ever. This isi what hip hop is all about. Come back Erule. Man! his lyrics were sick.

  • I remember seeing this video back in the day when Rap City had variety and used to show Hiphop...now Rap city gone. Anyway, I feel you...and he still making tracks on the underground circuit

  • ha I knew there was quiet a few samples out there but never knew this much but props for the song titles yall puttin me bak on 2 some ol hip hop ish I appreciated... peace!

  • I kno Esham nd Royal Flush looped/sampled the song but any1 else kno of any other rappers that did 2?

  • Dr.Dre - Smokin weed 4 hours

Turn it up - Masta Ace INC

  • ay thanx reef imma go listen 2 those nd I heard of another song recently 2 add 2 the list ..Funkdoobiest-dedicated

  • Bran Nubian- wake up (sunshine)

  • Naughty By Nature - Sunshine

  • Out of all the artists who sampled "Everybody Loves The Sunshine", this track takes the cake. They actually added basslines, and sound effects to complement the sample, rather than just loop it.

  • one of my favorite songs EVER!!!

  • DIS NIGGA WAS DOPE YA HERD

  • Makes me wish I lived in Cali...

  • i cannot find this mp3 anywhere

  • I can send it to you.

  • west coast rapper with east coast flows i like that i though that when i fist hard this back in 94 i though he was from new york

  • This guy had FLOW. LISTEN to how his word play is coming OFF!!

  • HipHops not dead its on youtube.

  • TRUUUUU!

  • ahhhhhhhhh yes!!!!

    ERU

  • one of the best flows ever on a track...and the scratching at the end was sick as fuck too. especially for when this came out.

  • !!Thats that Beat For The Movie Kidz When they were Blowing Trees on the Couch!!Remember that?? Good to Hear Real Hip Hop!!

  • this song was my shit back than. It's a treat to hear and see it.

  • wow son wow freakin ROY AYERS son hands down the best sampled version of the classic joint by my favorite artist son

  • This the west coast I like! From the the east but showing grace to the west. Madd love!

  • This was one of the first tracks that made me fly through the city on my BMX bike back in 94... or 93? Well, por ahi... Now I am actually able to understand what´s he saying...

  • It bothers the hell out of me that TALENTED artists like him got slept on back in the day while current artists like Lil Wayne,Three 6 Mafia & Souljah Boy get all the publicity..

  • I love how he drops "aloof" twice in the same verse.

This is straight fire. I'm happy I found this song.

I'm finding it these days I'm not looking at what's coming out, I'm searching harder for what came out in the golden era. Anyone else feelin that?

  • Yo I'm the same way.. I don't even listen to the hiphop of today.. I'm constantly on here trying to find old songs & download them on my ipod. Most cats may say I'm lame cause I'm not up on the current artists & music but hiphop today is garbage except for a few. I like q-tips new joint.

  • Hey u are not the only one! Somebody was listening to my shit the other day, they thought the same thing I was lame! But really I did not give a fuck I hate most of today shitty music I can't stand it! Qtip joint was tight I love his music! Im old school 4 real I watch and hear everything old school!

  • I'm curious; how old are you?

  • IM 23 why?

  • @ATLien333 WORD! q-tip hasn't gone pop yet so that's ill, I work the same way.. nostalgia!

  • Man I would cry a river just to have HIP HOP like this one more time again! Im very said to see the views on this vid because it should be alot more than this BUT of course the shit we have today is being played 24/7 which is VERY SAD state of hip hop!

  • omg so nice!!!

  • this is hip-hop

  • top ten songs of alltime

  • hit me with the other 9

  • and this is probably the best way to sample "everybody loves the sunshine" by Roy Ayers, fo real!

I always thought this song had the best Roy Ayers sample

  • I mos def agree wit you! One of the best slept on hip hop records.

  • I would love to put on 97.1 and hear this song !!! Even though it's kinda old its still a smooth classic joint!!!

  • You know what? On 97.1 this was the throwback song of the day today! Unfortunately I didn't win the prize they advertised for the name/artist!

  • hell yeah, one of the best rap songs ever made, what happened to erule? most of these cats out there could never made just one awesome track like this! thats why most of those mainstream mcs just suck!

and this is probably the best way to sample "everybody loves the sunshine" by Roy Ayers, fo real!

  • Serious Classic!

  • 100% real uncut raw hip hop. Now this is a good example of what hip hop should sound like.

  • so fucking ridiculously good. His lyrics are dope as fuck as well!!!

  • classic!

  • I luv the laid back feel to track

  • what a relaxing beat, i found this song cos its played in the film "Kids", great film!

  • A true classic, but unfortunately also falls into the "One Hit Wonder" category. BTW is that Jerry Seinfeld behind the turntables?!

  • no one hit wonder here. erule was underground before there was really a need for underground. he was underground because the only shit getting playin the west was gangster shit. "synopsis" the b-side to this single was also a classic. "listen up" and "synopsis" are two of my favorite songs of all time hands down. bought the single back in 94. he also came out with a album around 01 02 that had a few nice joints on there.

  • oh yeah, alot of people don't know. but erule was in a crew called the hemisphere crew with ras kass and this chick named medusa. the odd thing about erule is that he was on some 5% shit back when mostly only niggas in ny was on that. thats why, when i first heard listen up on the radio i thought he was from ny. until i saw the video. niggas was driving a six fo surrounded by palm trees LOL.

  • this was the shit back in the day. don't make em like this no more.

  • That was a great song!!!!

  • check out the original song...everybody loves the sunshine from roy ayers, thats music!!! but this is nice too!

  • 90's real hip hop from the west!!where's the gunplay?where's the dopegame stories?where's the bitch smackin'?ain't none. pure lyrics & dope beat!!check out the cuttin'& keys outtro!!props up ,e-rule!!

  • This shit gon sound crazy but its something about this beat and his wordz that....i feel closer to go everytime i listen to it and ive had this single -with synopsis- since it dropped its just MAGIC man its hip-hop at its best..uknowwhat(I)mean

  • Listen up, check it, Erule's about to wreck it!

  • Why why why is there no more rap like this anymore?

  • only underground shit rocks like this...all mainstream have bosses and owners, they have to make music that going to get air play instead of lyrical shit!Westcoast has the best emcees out there but they get no play in the south and east cause they r still bias pieces of shits!Im out bitch!

  • its called "Lupe Fiasco - The Cool" lol check that album an youll see alot of songs like this

  • erule was nice for a west coast rapper

  • erule is nice Period!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    On any coast.

  • Like rass kass,if this brother was from NYC

HE WOULD BE GET PROPS LIKE NAS,TRIBE,& THA WU

  • got beef with west coast rappers ?

  • kidsis the best movie evr

  • Man, I miss this song... I special ordered the CD single of this back then. Too bad my friend never gave it back.

  • YEa, it was incredibly hard to find even here in L.A. I never found it but now you can download it!

    This song tugs at memories!

  • Some chill shit, crack an Ol E and put one up to this, classic clear West Coast sound

  • dope

  • everybody loves the sunshone

  • Straight Los Angles at its best. One of the most underrated emcees ever. If you can find it check out the B side to this "My Synopsis" you wont be disappointed.

  • I first heard this song while i was watching the movie "KIDS"(from 1995). it was during the scene in the movie where the 4 younger teenage kids where smoking/passing a blunt while sitting on the couch talking about girls & stuff(people who saw the movie knows what i'm talking about). since then i've been hooked on this song!. good sh-t!. this real "REAL HIP-HOP", with meaning, makes sense, has a message, can understand it, & the instrumental is ridiculous(in a good way)!. so underrated!. 5/5!!!.

  • This song>all of this overrated rehashed & recycled commerial garbage that sounds the same every single time & has no life to it!. please true lyicists & hip-hop heads...please save us from all this commercial garbage out now & save real hip-hop!.

  • Whatever happened to some quality musik. noone ever heard of this shit under twenty five. it is a sad time

  • REAL HIPHOP

  • I just played this 12" last night at my set in St Louis! I told my man I remember seein the video just once back in like 94 or 95!

    CLASSIC RAWNESS.

  • Rpy Ayers & flow , by the way thats a west coast emcee. We still bet down baby.

  • thanks Disqualid 4 th video! I love this song and video back in 94. Dude has mad flow! i was waiting for him to drop his album but never heard anything! wish I had it! Representing Ladson and Chucktown SC! N TH HOUSE!

  • he did drop an album called cold currentz

i dont have it but i heard its mad sick

This song only made it to the 12inch which included the song synopsis on the B side

unfortunatley he hasnt blessed the mic since cold currentz

  • yo, thinks homie for droppin knowledge on a brother! It's a beautiful thing we real hip-hop junkies come together for one another! Continue staying real! LIKAROO

  • ya for sure man

hey if ur in the LA area u you can pick up cold currentz at the basement LA in sherman oaks or go online on amazon or ebay they have it too

that is if your interested in hearing more frm this cat

  • no doubt, thanks fo the info homey! from East to West, much respect! hold it down in Cali and keep bringing that real funk

  • Much respect for the upload!! This was easily one of the top underrated hip hop cuts of all time, the DJ at the end KILLS IT too!!!

  • Now this is some real hip hop shit here. This nigga is just flowing over that beat like water. Man I wish they could bring this style back. A nigga just flowing over a beat. Right now hip hop is dead. That south shit is wack. No offense. Respect to Scarface.

  • This is what Hip Hop is all about! This is why real heads LOVE this genre. The beat's simply calm and soothing, the flow is flawless and constant, the mixing is just as sick as DJ Babu, if not more. Everything just tightens up a fist that grasps you and takes you into a world like no other. We need a LOT more music like this!

  • This is timeless HIP HOP! Not that rap bullsh*t we hear on the radio. This song can easily knock 95% of what on the radio out easily. Show the god love and hit him up on his myspace page.
