  • Christine can change from major diva to saucy imp so quickly

  • Alabammed out probably

  • God knows what sort of state Rickie Lee is in

  • I bet she's a right lardy now

  • Comment removed

  • @Rikk303 Actually Rickie Lee's web site AND facebook page have her looking pretty good in fact

  • @stans06 yeah, have checked them out and she looks as good as ever she did. A total cutie

  • I used to see her at the station in Stalybridge she was with whats his name with the beret on..played a strat

  • I know the bloke you mean....Richard something.....

  • Richard Hendrix..that's tha chappie

  • I think you mean Jimi Thompson, from that skiffle band Newport Convenience..........or something.

  • Jimmy Riddle even from the smelly bungalow in that particular town

  • Where is Newport anyway?

  • Some new vineyard where they fancied themselves at outdoing the Portuguese at something or other I 'spose. Stockport is Oxo-phobic

  • Was a powerful enough song when Rickie Lee did it. Nice one Chris

  • Christine,

That was an amazing vocal on such a great song... Wow.... Really felt your emotions coming through....

  • I LOVE Christine's voice (and choice of music) BUT

This song is SO much better in the original version by the amazing Rickie Lee Jones.

This is not meant as any criticism of Chistine, it's just that Rickie has such a unique voice and delivery, that any cover is almost BOUND to be a let-down.

I've TRIED to sing Night Train, myself (because it's one fantastic song), but came to conclusion that noone should even TRY it.

A double-edged sword: to sing songs so good that covers are a waste of time

  • I disagree with you there Jimmy, but probably because this was the first time i ever heard it, and this is on one of my all time favorite albums and i love McFarlane's fretless bass.

  • The trouble with covers is audience expectation. I know,REALLY know the oiriginal...band are perfect..pretty much spot on as to the original music...sadly Christine isn't. Brave choice though.-Rickie Lee has the scales to test the greatest vocalist "Gregson is where you're enzyme is-like it or not" ...I'd like to hear another like I heard the 1st one...top notch production...great guitar....and brilliant words

  • Cristine Collister Live is one of my favorite albums, i love her voice.

  • Would the Howard Lees on guitar be the prodi-racer Howard Lees? Good shot at one of the greatest petrol-head songs ever writen

  • ilmlin don't know shit.

This Christine fucking Collister. She has been performing "professionally" for quite some time but evidently ilmlin wouldn't know since he don't know shit.

  • Nice attempt. Try something more in your range. like alanis or Black Velvet perhaps. This seemed too rushed for my understanding of this number. You have a good voice, but this is not your best avenue. Ive seen Riki and love some of her stuff I am thinking maybe if your guitar and bass slowed down it will come across better.

    Thanks

  • rickie lee jones did this well, too

  • you got it, baby Rock on.

  • One of my very favourite Collister performances. It was this song that I first heard on the Live album. Love it.

  • nice job Christine...great song!!!!!!

  • Excellent!
