Easiest way to flash a BenQ and Samsung MS28 drive for Xbox 360 (HD)

hi there, i have one question, i was searching for "how to flash optical drives" and got here, so i have a unused DVD player from Mustek, opened it up and found somekind of a regular pc cd/dvd drive with IDE interface..

I noticed it has 2 lens, so i tryied to connect it to the pc but windows didnt recognized it.

So i was wondering if there is any firmware/updater to flash this drive so windows could recognize and use it..

Holy shit I spent 7 hours trying this did everything up untill the key save thing cause the program wouldn't open so I tried flashing it another way I used jungle flasher and saved the key ect. Wrote the files and then hit reset button /outro after that I hooked my xbox back up to my tv and it wasn't playing burnt games my question is that is

u must open it up dude, dont be a wuss, but luckly theres a way to ope nit without voiding the waranty, just heat the ms sticker on the faceplate with a hairdryer and take it out softly, flash, and place the sticker back =]

It's not that confusing. The only part that may be confusing you, is that he doesn't have the software links in his comment. DOSFLASH should automatically open when selected, though I haven't tried it yet. Dumping and writing to it should be simple, as shown. But, I can't find any iXtreme firmware that will work. They all come up invalid. I need help with that.

That's why you don't use iCrap, you make your own dos boot disk and place dosflash on it

I cannot find the firmware, I tried getting it off of XBins and downloading it from the web manually from a ling but, when I test it with iPrep 101 I get "No valid firmware loaded." The Maximus 360 tools also gives me an error. How do I work this?

i was able to flash sammy ms 28 to iextreme 1.5 awhile back do i need to go back to flash to ofw then add 1.6 fw great video i have my ofw on my desktop an i had it on usb drive too. my usb is now missing bought a new usb drive put ofw on usb now it wont start in dosflash says missing os system

how did that screen came up beofre typing Dosflash. does that automatically come when you connect the dvd drive to your pc at startup. did u use the power from the computer and can u plug in the sata cable to any port on ur motherboard.

You put in the cd you made in iPrep.

Then you turn off your pc, unplug your hardrive from the sata ports, and it will load up that screen.

I find jungleflasher to be a lot easier/less complicated. Dont have to keep turning off pc and shit, and since its a win32 app, if you need help, just look it up online.

With dosflash, you are stuck unless you have two pcs

Jungleflasher is not the right way to flash it in my opinion, since it is incredibly unstable, causes BSOD a lot, and lots of operating systems are not supported

I mean like, if you dont know what to do, you are stuck. So if it is your first time, you are best with 2 pcs, so if you do get lost, you can look it up

Its all personal preference. I used jungleflasher because its faster (i can flash a drive in under 3 minutes) and you can basically do it off of common sense for some things. But its all up to you, w/e u want. If u want, i can do it for you over teamviewer (remote app/support) for free

teamviewer is a remote support program. Like, when you give permission (Giving the user and pass) over aim, i can do it from your pc.

hi i have followed ur instruction but i keep having wrong key and i noticed that orig.bin key is 77777777777777777777777777777 which is weird same for the ixtreme.bin

i found my mistake, i erased my orig.bin by mistake luckily when i did a recovery lost partition on my usb key i was able to retrieve my orig.bin that i saved before formatting the usb key then i copied the key to the ixtreme1.6 bin file with maximus and all sorted. initially the key was wrong 'cos the orig.bin file i was using was wrong!

umm yes i have, you're doing something wrong. Try changing the drive to another port
