I can't believe it's been nearly 14 years since this terrible tragedy when a crazed mad gunman opened fire on innocent kids as young as 5 years old !!..Myself and loads of other people would agree with me,this must not ever happen again !...
13 years on, i still think of this tradegy, still think of these families.
i am English, not scottish, but i remember being just a teenager, and being shocked and scared of the future... i was joining.
these babies are not forgotten, nor are their familes, siblings, friends, teachers and community. Please, don't let this happn again on our grounds, or anywhere else. PLEASE.xxxx
God bless the innocent children and keep them in your arms until they are reunited with their loved ones. They will always remain in our thoughts and prayers.
they did a good thing to put Mark on the guitar because he always plays with his feelings. Now you can feel his emotions to in the guitar playing , nice work !
it's pretty sad your all having an argument under a video created to remember such a tragic day and to remeber the lives of those who were taken. have some respect.
13 years on and this is still a painful memory, I was around 13 at the time, I remember feeling a great sadness for the victims' families. I heard too that Chris Rea had a hand in this recording.
this song makes me cry as i remember it happening and the local youth club i went to in 1996 recorded our own verson of this song for the children that died. god bless them all xxx
what would be the point in him sticking around? trialled & banged up for life! he would of evidently ended up crazy in a cell, but he was crazy.

so so sad,,,my 2nd daughter was only 11 days old when this happened,i cant and hate to think what the parents went through and probably still are,god bless little angles you will never be forgotton x
I attended this school from primary 1 right up to primary 7 and was in the nursery within the school at the time. Last week a scottish newspaper published an article accusing to survivors of shaming the victims because of alocohol and drug references on their bebo pages. I find this shocking, as although i dont encourage drug or alcohol abuse, these boys are 18 year olds trying to live there lives as normal as possible. They shouldnt have to let this massacre plague their thoughts everyday.
I was six when this happened and my brother was 4. We were at a primary school a few hours north of Dunblane that day. I remember my mum lighting a candle and my school holding a two minute silence. I also remember not being able to understand why anyone would kill children (13 years later I still don't).
I can remember that day so vividly as I was in primary 7 at another school in the area only 10 to 15 minutes away from Dunblane and at the time the school was locked up and no one could get in or out.
I can also remember the noise of the Ambulances passing my school going to Stirling Royal so vividly as if it happened only a few weeks ago.
I remeber this being all over the news when i was 12. Now my little girl is 5 and at school It must be so hard to imagine the pain the parents must still feel :(

i was in Edinburgh in 1996, and working for a company where some of the employees where directly affected. It was a shock then, and as a father it is still shocking that such evil existed. He was a coward to kill himself, but then that proves he was of sound mind. Wherever this man is I hope he is suffering intolerable pain in hell.

The children of Dunblane were the victims of a satanic social control mechanism, every UK person over the age of 25 should know what I'm talking about. It WASN'T triggered just as a pre-text for banning handguns.

I can't believe I only just thought of looking here for this song; I knew of its existence but had never actually heard it, and didn't think I would have that chance, since I live in New York (but I'm Scottish). When this happened, everyone was calling me, asking if I knew/was related to any of the victims. I was pregnant at the time, and I remember picking up my 4 year old from nursery school and holding my newspaper in front of my face so she wouldn't see my tears. RIP Angels :)
princesscarly2k7 i can hardly see what im typing cos im crying so much again.. love ur text very warm and full of heart. my heart pours out deeply to all the parents and ive run out of tears, throat is tight and sore. if i had a wish it would be to have beaten the bastard to death with my bare hands but hey that would be for the parents and probably millions of others who feel the same as me. nathan from south uk

i was only 15 when this happened and i remember our school had 2 minutes silence every hour on the hour during the day for 3 weeks after this act off evil happened
you know, those kids would be the same age as me if they hadnt been killed. i remember my mum coming in from work crying, she knew the teacher who died. RIP a' ghaoil :(
I was 13 when this happened and had been sent home poorly from school. I can remember being sat on the sofa at my aunts with the tears running down my cheeks. What a tragic loss. God bless the families of those bairns and their teacher xx
you would all be about 17 now, and your teacher would be 52, how sad i feel for you all and your familys, god bless you all little ones and your teacher, take care ofeach other in heavan, xxxxxx
nice song, very fitting, the diabolical actions of a seriously fucked up man, ruined many lives, also denied all them children a chance of life. how sad
i sit listening to this song as a scotsman with a sixteen year old son i will never forget those sad events 12 years ago i sit here with tears in my eyes and i still think of those innocent kids to this day. RIP celtic supporters the world over.
Had I been born in Dunblane, I would have been one of those kids. I'm 16 now, the age those kids would have been. What kind of monster would kill children so young? If anyone does not deserve such a thing to happen, it are kids that young.
i was born in dunblane and i was a primary 3 pupil on this day and was sitting in the assembly hall moments before this terrible tragedy happened. we lost 16 beautiful children that day who would now be amazing 16 and 17 year olds.
these amazing tributes really do show that people care! i sometimes feel that this is lacking in our world today. but this means so much!
never forget these beautiful children who tragically lost their lives on this day 12 years ago!
I Don't live far from Dunblane, and i was in Primary 1 at the time of the Shooting, which now, when i think that children, not far from me, who were the same age as me where being killed...At the time i didn't understand, but now.. It was just an act of extreme evil..
Shame on our major TV networks, who never really cover stories outside the USA unless it involves an AMERICAN, or it's something like a new Pope or whatever. I try to find other ways to know what's happening outside this place --and I live by Wash, DC!-- by watching public TV (mostly documentaries there though), the BBC, or the computer. And we're told we have so much "freedom" that we're free from propaganda. HA! I'd like to know what happened. I heard Yusuf Islam mention this too in a song
I have a boy who is nearly five, and could not imagine him not being here. I also have a step-daughter who is 17 (the age the children here would have been now. Again I could not imagine her not being here. I truelly hope a tragedy like this never happens again. Love to all the parents.xxxx
Indeed a beautiful Tribute, But the honour goes to one Ted Christopher, Not Mark Knopfler i am afraid (admitting that mark is indeed one of the greatest singers and Guitarists walking the planet).
This song, along with a few other songs make up an album which i believe still can be purchased, Proceeds going to a charity supporting the loved ones of similar incidents like Dunblane.
Im confused sorry. Do you mean this isnt the Mark Kopfler Version? Because I bought this when I was 15. It's got the verse in it that he changed... This town will never be the same, so for the bairns of Dunblane, we ask please, never again...
Mark is only playing the guitar, He is not singing. Sorry, i forgotto write that. i own the album that ted christopher released in memoriam to the tragedy. Ted also sings the B side, Throw those guns away.
Oh, I apologise. I was only aware that Ted Christopher wrote and sang Throw These Guns Away. I didn't realise he also wrote that extra verse in this and sang it.
And playgirl, it's a hard song to get. You could check ebay if you wanted to buy it. I have it on my playlist only not in my actual files, so it wont let me put it on here sorry.
Fantastic tribute to the victims of Dunblane without all the political crap you get on other posts. Well done and keep up the good work everyone, we will never forget them.
May all the angels rest now in peace with their teacher looking over them.
this is a very sad song, i remembered when it happen, all theses little children and the teacher life ended because some nut case had a gun. please do not use guns, and bless the children familys, we will remember them
is really awful. Difficult to comprehend why someone would do this. One thing that i thought of the other day - Its hard and horrible to think of for the public, but i just wonder what it was like for the first paramedics and police on the scene... I would be willing to be that they prolly would never be the same people again.

The teachers never called te police so i did today.
The police said that he had spoken to the teacher over the phone "Mrs. Mcmanus" Who confirmed my fears, the Head teacher said that it was dealt with.
The Lady ie. The junkie had had a bad day.
In other words don't take the matter further as it would be an embarrassment to the head teacher and the school to hell with the Kids safety.
Wonder what would have been done if it were a MAN who was entering the play ground and being abusive?
SASwarzone1 3 years ago
She then tried to force her way into the school causing the teachers to lock a class room door to keep the lady out.
She continued to yell abuse and all was heard by the Kids some were crying.
My child was one of the victims of this lady's anger.
No helpers were in the area for 5+ minutes.
SASwarzone1 3 years ago
Good Vid.
My little cousin was in that school at the time of the shooting.
Turns out that even our own people have became blind to the terrible shooting also though.
At Doune primary on Friday a notorious Junkie lady walked up to kids in the play ground and started shouting and threatening them.

RIP Angels :)

fragglesrock1303 3 years ago
Did not realise that the kids were so young - god bless them all!
This was heartbreaking, but at least the gun ban that followed has possibly saved others - I hope.
Also spare a thought for the kids at Beslan.

I was 13 when this happened and had been sent home poorly from school. I can remember being sat on the sofa at my aunts with the tears running down my cheeks. What a tragic loss. God bless the families of those bairns and their teacher xx

i sit listening to this song as a scotsman with a sixteen year old son i will never forget those sad events 12 years ago i sit here with tears in my eyes and i still think of those innocent kids to this day. RIP celtic supporters the world over.

Had I been born in Dunblane, I would have been one of those kids. I'm 16 now, the age those kids would have been. What kind of monster would kill children so young? If anyone does not deserve such a thing to happen, it are kids that young.
RIP

i was born in dunblane and i was a primary 3 pupil on this day and was sitting in the assembly hall moments before this terrible tragedy happened. we lost 16 beautiful children that day who would now be amazing 16 and 17 year olds.
these amazing tributes really do show that people care! i sometimes feel that this is lacking in our world today. but this means so much!
never forget these beautiful children who tragically lost their lives on this day 12 years ago!
RIP xx

Love to all the parents.xxxx

who sings the b side song on this cd called throw them guns away cos cant find it newhere
playgirl20078 4 years ago
Indeed a beautiful Tribute, But the honour goes to one Ted Christopher, Not Mark Knopfler i am afraid (admitting that mark is indeed one of the greatest singers and Guitarists walking the planet).
This song, along with a few other songs make up an album which i believe still can be purchased, Proceeds going to a charity supporting the loved ones of similar incidents like Dunblane.
daiekatana 4 years ago
Im confused sorry. Do you mean this isnt the Mark Kopfler Version? Because I bought this when I was 15. It's got the verse in it that he changed... This town will never be the same, so for the bairns of Dunblane, we ask please, never again...
Caledonia25 4 years ago
Mark is only playing the guitar, He is not singing. Sorry, i forgotto write that. i own the album that ted christopher released in memoriam to the tragedy. Ted also sings the B side, Throw those guns away.
daiekatana 4 years ago
who sings the b side song on this cd called throw them guns away cos cant find it newhere
playgirl20078 4 years ago
Ted Christopher who sings both "throw them Guns away," and "Knocking on heavens Door" on this album.
daiekatana 4 years ago
Oh, I apologise. I was only aware that Ted Christopher wrote and sang Throw These Guns Away. I didn't realise he also wrote that extra verse in this and sang it.
And playgirl, it's a hard song to get. You could check ebay if you wanted to buy it. I have it on my playlist only not in my actual files, so it wont let me put it on here sorry.

May all the angels rest now in peace with their teacher looking over them.

is really awful. Difficult to comprehend why someone would do this. One thing that i thought of the other day - Its hard and horrible to think of for the public, but i just wonder what it was like for the first paramedics and police on the scene... I would be willing to be that they prolly would never be the same people again.
