  • that really cool

  • your the man now dawg <.<

  • cool!

  • I know it's an older video, but it made my day, bro. So cool...so fine. Thanks. All of your vids are great.

  • This is a Yamaha TRB 1006, plus, it's on the tags, but you can tell because of the inlays

  • sweet

  • Is this one of the old TRB series basses or like from the new ones

  • Not many bassist make me jealous... You are obviously not like many bass players..

Also that is one heavy bass you have there. I've held one before. it the TRB series six string.

  • If you slow the video down - using any one of a number of free video editing software available online - you can learn to play this without begging for lessons or asking for tabs...just saying. It wouldn't take too much effort to transcribe that way, then play along while following his example.

  • PLEASEEEEEE PLEASEEEEEE PLEASEEEEEEEEE...TEACH ME via Internet..PLEASEEEE....

  • @cheiwen do u give lessons, if so, how much and where do u live?

  • What nimrod disliked this?!?!?!?! Die A DEAD DEATH!!!!!

  • Great player!

  • @frafunk and you obviously never have heard any proper jazz band lately

  • @manatopain his just stupid lol

  • Yamaha TRB1006?

  • Great!!!

  • i wish i could understand jazz music more and understand the notes because i know there is a meaning behind the random note playing.

  • Well that's the thing, they aren't random notes. If they were it'd be a lot easier and it'd also sound like crap

  • Very smooth bass sound!! I love it!

Jazz very hard !! Aaiiiii x)

  • TOCA MUITO !

    pARABÉNS!

  • its BEADGC, and that was pretty awesome! i think 6 string basses are a little much though, i think 5 strings are better

  • feeling!

  • Nice. Is that tuned like a guitar? What make and model bass is that?

  • nein du Idiot, er ist in Quarten von H aus gestimmt, d.h. HEADGC

  • to play this music, what scales do you use?

  • @blazix201 It's just a standard jazz blues progression...so, the blues scale, amongst other things.

  • @blazix201

    What scales do you know?

I have found that once you know and are confortable with many scales, it is more a preference than anything else.

  • @bassguitarkeybordwiz only a few, i recently started to play bass, and i'm learning scales and how to play from a hal leonard book. what are the scales needed to play this

  • awesome!

  • nice man

  • dude ive listened to this like 5 times. its SO GOOD! im faving this :)

  • SWEET!

  • Very nice.

  • MAN DAMN THAT SHIT ROCKS

  • its mad quiet on my speakers

  • you look mad retarded on my screen

  • Very very cool!

  • ...i need a loop station......so useful for soloing. beautiful performance.

  • basic question, how do you record the first bass part seamlessly and jump to melody lead right away. I'm very inpired to learn from you.

  • its called editing....

  • no, its black magic.

  • LOL

  • i noticed that you don't necessarily anchor your fingers or thumb differently on this...a 6 string bass. My first inclination is that you've got the action set high...is that the case? I recently purchased a 6 string and have actually been having some difficulty on the thumb and/or pinky-ring muting techniques of the damn monster. any suggestions?

  • Ilike the part 0:15 to 0:23

  • this one has 24 frets which is something that alot of guitars don't have

  • Also a different tuning, different feel, and different sound altogether.

  • guitars dont usually have more frets than basses

  • Excellent take! love Parker on bass. Waiting for more. Nice bass ;)

  • very very nice video.

  • Thanks for the Upload

  • If anyone has got a tab for this, i would really appreciate it!

  • Great! but.... the lesson is...???

  • the lesson is that the best way to improve you jazz skills is the listen to jazz music! that is after you have your chops under control though.

  • That's verrry good.

Id like it better if the melody was the original

  • Beautiful playing and nice tempo slowed down- the voice and the voice is fantastic.

Great ideas and bop lines nice to hear a Bird tune on bass rather than Donna Lee..

  • good music!

    I wanna buy 6strings bass,too.

  • amazing

  • I like your chords!.. but, the first string is in C???

  • yea i never really understood why the first string isnt B, cause C makes no sense. but im not a bassist im a guitarist so it doesnt really matter i guess lol/

  • it's a C so that the bass can be tuned in fourth's. It makes it easier to play chords and scales

  • yea thats kinda what i was thinking. its kind of a bitch on guitar when you get to the B string you have to move everything a half step up.

  • There is a 3rd on the guitar to make chord shaping easier. On bass, we do not have that luxury. It is easier to visualize though.

  • yea makes sense. for metal players the 3rd isnt always usefull because we dont really play chords much, and if we do, it will just be the root and the 3rd or 5th on the lower strings.

  • Very impressive..i actuaslly have this bass same color but the 5 string one..Very Versatile and i really love evry tone i switch on..Anyway good job man..Like it..

  • Mamma mia!! I like it!!!!

  • Absolutely perfect. Now, try to escape perfection: take some chances, throw the changes into chaos. GO OUTSIDE. Play with the time, and play with the harmonies. Otherwise, you'll just sound like any other nightclub guy: BORING.

You obviously have the chops. START USING THEM: Jaco/Patitucci/etc.

You can play this in your SLEEP! Get outside of what you already know, and create something new.

I don't mean to be mean, here. I just hear a guy who has the chops to do SO much more...

  • truth in music says..nice!

  • beautiful!

  • How do you remember what each notes sounds like so you can sing it? And another is what do I need to learn to be able to make beautiful music on my bass? Theory*

  • I'm sure the singing and playing all happens simultaneously. Wanna get started on it? Just start singing with any bass line you play. Seriously... biggest reason people can't do it is because they've convinced themselves that they can't sing.

  • Totally wicked! You Beast!

  • nice chops!

  • i might have to show you to my bass player. he has been looking for some blues lines

  • i really like your style ... +1 subscription

  • This is great!! 5/5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • swweeeet
