No, it does not has reverse box. Usual starter motor was used for reverse gear. But in the current situation little hill done the job.

@begbis it doesn't need reverse, you could just push it, hell even a scrawny 16 year old kid or a woman could push one of those. I had said I would never own a smart car, but then I started to see wher epeople had been doing this and putting bike engines in them, and well, I think I changed my mind!

Probably uses a Quaife reversable diff unit same as the Smartuki. Similar idea to the bike engined Caterham 7's and the like.
