This has been a long process of making things less dangerous and less bad than they are.Look at most comedies that are rated R, kids might go see these with their parents and it's hard to find one without sex or drugs. Look at Twilight,they're aimed towards kids as young as 12-13 and there's a lot of sexual content.Things in media now would have never been thought of 50 years ago.

Kids are learning and absorbing information from when they're born, to sometime around 17. If they're told in movies, books, music and other media that promiscuity, drugs, alcohol and other dangers are not that bad or good, then it will register in their brain that way. Common sense in young people is being morphed and changed.

Movies like these tell teens that sleeping around, drugs, alcohol, and all of that is just fine and dandy. Our values in society have dropped, if not vanished. My dad said when he was growing up, the Rocky Horror Picture Show was just outrageous. Today that's like watching Sesame Street.

But in the 60's with Woodstock and other events it promoted sex and drug use. It became the new cool and edgy thing to do. @3dlpcman People who have just taken heroin aren't likely to do much running around on the streets for a while, and that goes for most drugs. The people who do use drugs to liven themselves up on a night out and let it get out of hand are idiots but no more so than someone who's had way too much alcohol. I'm not saying that it's fine to just shoot up in the middle of Burger King or out on the street or whatever. I'm saying it should be legal to buy and use in your own home if you choose to.

This has been a long process of making things less dangerous and less bad than they are.Look at most comedies that are rated R, kids might go see these with their parents and it's hard to find one without sex or drugs. Look at Twilight,they're aimed towards kids as young as 12-13 and there's a lot of sexual content.Things in media now would have never been thought of 50 years ago.

Sleep with whoever you want, drug use is alright as long as you're not addicted, and for some reason it's expected now to lose your virginity before you graduate high school. Is abstinence just an evil and stupid concept? By the way, the trailer shows the mom having a fit of what Cyrus's character does, but it it doesn't portray any of this in a bad light.

@aifrickavanagh You're missing the point. If you;re constantly bombarded and encouraged to behave a certain way, you will most likely live by the message you were told. Kids are learning and absorbing information from when they're born, to sometime around 17. If they're told in movies, books, music and other media that promiscuity, drugs, alcohol and other dangers are not that bad or good, then it will register in their brain that way. Common sense in young people is being morphed and changed.

Movies like these tell teens that sleeping around, drugs, alcohol, and all of that is just fine and dandy. Our values in society have dropped, if not vanished. The people who do use drugs to liven themselves up on a night out and let it get out of hand are idiots but no more so than someone who's had way too much alcohol.
